Well this is an indie band but most people have heard of them with their singles like, "I bet that you look good on the dancefloor" and "Fake tales of San Fran Sisco"
I think they came out in '06? Or maybe '05....
Anywho. I love them. I think they have a refreshing new sound that was needed in the music business. Kinda like early beatles meets Motion City.
So yea, who else likes them?

They are simply amazing. "Mardy bum" is prolly my favorite on that album I mean it makes me want to dance! And not many "rock" songs are like that nowadays. I really like that about them and other bands like them because a lot of popular stuff now isn't really fun and it just makes you sad. Not saying that I go with that whole, "My child is depressed because of the music she listens to." Because I don't. Haha.

Omg I didn't even realize they had a new album until like two minutes ago. But you like in the UK right? So I'm pretty sure they're wayyyyy popular there right? I read somwhere that "Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not" was the fastest selling debut album in british music history... Wow. I didn't even know that. I love them so much. I can't wait till the new cd comes out the 24th...

Yeh their album sold amazingly well, and they're new ones out tomorrow here so like thats the 23rd. Im gonna get me mum to buy it for herself...and then I'll nick it xp

Yea it comes out 24th here I can't wait.
What kind of music/bands is/are popular there right now?
I just find the whole music scene 10x more interesting than United States...

Well its a load of styles really
theres no real popular bands or anything.
Arctic monkeys are though
and Kings of Leon are too.
It really depends on what music people like!
cos theres a LOAD of groups here.

Kings of Leon are pretty good, I don't listen to them that much though.
Yea like the most popular genre of music at my school used to be like hiphop/rap crap but people are liking pop/rock more now.
But like there are only a select few that listen to really good indie bands or underground/local stuff.
I'm in the crowd that's very music oriented and half of us are in a band so we like a lot of stuff. I couldn't imagine being in a different group.

which I don't mind cos it still means Im independant!
Yeh, hardly ANYBODY here listens to the music I do!
Someone keeps listening to the music I do...
and pretending he likes them
when its obvious he doesnt
and it really does annoy me!

Lol I hate those people. Like I just got back from an MCR concert and my friend who likes pop/hip hop was like OMG. I loooooove my chemical romance.
It's like, "Wtf? What was the name of there first album?"
She replies, "Black parade? Heh heh."
And it's not just about My Chemical Romance, people do that with a lot of bands. It's just ignorence. I mean if you don't know something, admit it. Don't go with it. Save yourself furthermore embaressment right?

Yepp completely right.
They think that they are suddenly the experts on a band/artist that you have liked for AAAAAAAAAAAGES
and it really annoys you cos they are only doing it so they thin you will like them more!
