I'm thinking about piercing my own belly button, any tips? I know to sterilize the needle and all that, but I'm doing it with a safety pin, so I'm not sure whether or not it's a good idea.

Well, if your profile is right, then you're going to be 18 in a little over a year. I'd say just be patient and wait until then to go it have it professionally done. Or maybe your parents will even soften up a bit before then. But.. DIY piercings are never a good idea. =/

Idiot. Convince your parents to let you get it done. Lets see, Free piercing with 80% chance of extreme infection or an $80 piercing that is actually accurate. HMMM.

The best thing would be to get it done by a professional.

Just wait till you are old enough to get a professional to do it. It seems kinda immature to do it yourself, let alone unsafe, just because your parents wont let you get one. stare

Navels are difficult enough to do and heal properly (despite their popularity) without inviting problems.

Probably was the jewellery choice. Edit: Adrenaline isn't popular by piercing enthusiasts in Vancouver, so far as I've heard just from talking to people. (Actually, it's looked down upon by some too) Sacred Heart is prefered.

domokun No one should ever pay 100 dollars for a navel piercing. o.O 80 is a little steep for a navel piercing. My hood only cost a little more than that. My conch, helix, lip, eyebrow, etc. etc. cost less.
