She became a human just to help Mytho find all the pieces to his heart. Since all the pieces are found there is no point of her to continue being a human.

in the books duck wasen't actually a duck, her name just ment duck
spoliers for those of you reading the books
she mearly only changes into a duck at one part because aidel gives her a necklace that makes her a duck
In the anime series though i was very upset when she was going to be a duck for the rest of her life because i thought that she should have been a human cause other wise you have interspecies mating

It was a happy ending for Mytho and Ryu and Fakir. I don't like though that Duck had to return to being a duck. Yes, she was originally a duck adn she only became a human to help Mytho, but Fakir could have wrote the story so that she could remain human. Honestly, Duck and Fakir should have been together in the end.

I found the ending bittersweet. And I agree that Ahiru/Duck should have remained human to be with Fakir.

I thought it was a happy ending. And I think she should have gone back to being a duck. That would defeat everything if she stayed human. Through the whole story she had to realize that she was who she was and accept it. But being a duck doesn't mean it's bad. She still gets to be with fakir and she can do this as who she is which is the great part. She's a great duck.

Honestly, Duck and Fakir should have been together in the end. Even if there won't be a sequel to the anime, you can still hope that Duck turns into a girl again. After all, Fakir says that he'll write another story and in the ending you see him writting. He could've been writting a story in which Duck transforms back into a girl and stays as one forever. Of course, we'll never know.

I was sorly disapointed in the lack of Ahiru and Fakir getting together-ness. But it was better then the lack in the manga. Does anyone else who read the manga thing Fakir liked Ahiru? Or is that just my OTP-ness acting up?

i think is wasn't fair for ahiru I mean...she saves the whole town, gets mytho his heart, lets rue be his princess and all SHE gets is turned back in to a duck...not FAIR the creator DID want to make a third season she just didn't think there was enough support for it

I think the ending was fitting. I mean... Ahiru had to turn back to a duck, because that was what she really was and I seem to remember that being true to yourself was a great theme in the anime.
The only thing I disliked was that Rue ended with Mytho. I hated Rue. I felt she did NOT deserve that happy ending after all the horrible things she had done.
