One time in my chemistry classroom before class started, I was telling one of m friends about YamixYugi fanfic idea I had. She's ok with yaoi/shonenai but not really a big fan, and she knows a little bit about "Yu-gi-oh!" And then...
Friend: "Wait: they look the same, right?" question
Me: "Sort of, except Yugi's shorter and his hair has fewer bang than Yami's."
Friend: "But they look similar overall?"
Me: "Yeah."
Friend: "..." eek
Seconds later after that, I thought about why there was the awkward silence. Then I came to a conclusion why she found it a bit weird..

So, what if this happens?!??!??!? eek eek (It can be any Yami/Hikari pairing but for this guild, I'll be using YamixYugi as an example...)
Random YamixYugi Hater: "It sucks!" scream
Puzzleshipping fan: "No it doesn't!" scream
Random YamixYugi Hater: "Yes, it does! And it's wrong on so many levels!" evil
PuzzleShipping Fan: "How is that exactly?" rolleyes stare
Random YamixYugi Hater: "They look the same and they're in love with each other, right?! That means they're narcissists!" xp
PuzzleShipping Fan: "..." eek
Random YamixYugi Hater: "And how else would they look alike?! If they were descendants of the Yami person and they love each other, it's INCEST!!" xp scream
PuzzleShipping Fan: "Stop! You're killing me!!" gonk
Random YamixYugi Hater: "But wait! There's more: age differece! Yugi is only, like, a teenager's age! Yami is ****ing 3 billion whad-da-blah-blah years old!! THAT MAKES HIM A *****!!!" scream xp evil

*sees angry mod of PuzzleShippers with torches and pitchforks* NO, I'M ASKING FOR HELP!!! WHAT IF ONE OF US RUN INTO SOMETHING LIKE THIS?!?!?!??!??!?!?!?

I know alot of people who hate yaoi period.
And Yami's 3000 years old in the manga, 5000 in the anime. So, it's safe to say 4000 anyways.

I had never thought about the ***** stuff. Very funny.
But I can answer those facts easily...
They share the same body! That's narcisism!: Maybe, but if you remember well, Yami gains his body back in the few last episodes; so they can't do anything they want afterwards ;D
They look alike! They're descendants! Incest!: they may be descendants; but because around 5000/3000 years have passed, the family blood they share is (to say it somehow) in very short quantity, to the point that they are not family at all.
But Yami is a bazillion of years older! he's a *****>: maybe; but when Yami sacrificed himself to defeat Zorc and sealed his soul, in other words, he died, his soul remained as a 18-year-old boy (between 18-20 years), so time didn't affect his soul. So, technically, his only a few years older than Yugi.

Well, I find there to be nothing weird about Yami and Yugi's relationship. Yami and Yugi have many important differences that make them unique (kinda the point of the show) and are obviously two seperate people. So not narcissism.
Also, not incest, because I don't think they ever said once Yami and Yugi were related. And I thought the decendant stuff was also fanmade.
Finally, not age difference, because while Yami is 3000, he doesn't act like a decrepit old man. Since he died at a certain age, he's literally frozen in time- in his 20s I'd have to guess.
The only thing I ever found a little off about Yami X Yugi pairing, was the fact that Yami was a spirit and Yugi is living flesh and blood. But us determined Yugioh writers get around that in many creative ways. =)
