Hey peeps, let me know what you think of the RP idea. I will put up a...*checks gold* a 2500g grand prize and if there are more than ten fighters, and the RP reaches conclusion; the first prize will move up to 10 000 gold for 1st place, 5 000g for 2nd; and 2 500g for 3rd place. Give that some thought and jump in. Let me know if there are any questions regarding the combat system or the RP in general. I'll be more than happy to answer here.

Super Panda, a fine member of gaian society stands triamphant behind the room's small, but well stocked bar. Getting himself into explanation mode, he starts twirling a bottle of tequilla in the air. Tossing it from one hand to the other with ease and grace. Looking to Ruuvan, he twirls the bottle behind the his back to catch it on the back of his hand. "Its simple. Lets just say I call you an idiot and I concequently do this" Flicking the bottle forward, he grabs it by the neck and throws it as hard as he can at Ruuvan. [[Throwing the bottle counts as the attack. I roll my dice, and you can take damage, or choose to doge/defend it. But you can only do this a default of two times per fight.]]]

Unaware of the events that were about to unfold, Ruuvan stood firm as Panda began to explain the rules to him. It was a bar, so why shouldn't his friend have picked up a bottle and then... damn! With a dull thunk the bottle smacked Ruu in the forehead and sent him reeling back, grasping the bottle with his free hand as he cursed under his breath. Once all swearing was exhausted from his system, Ruuvan replied. "So.. I just lost 3 points off my health or what?" He asked with a raised brow. Not a second after the words left his lips, he threw the bottle back at Panda as hard as he could.

"Yup, you just took three points of damage. So your life..." Panda chooses to duck out of the way, allowing for the bottle to continue its journey. The bottle crashes into the stocked shelves and sends bottles of congnac, tequilla and other fine wiskeys to thier demise. Annoyed, Panda stands shocked, looking over the mess Ruuvan has just created."Your life points should now be on 17." Looking over the mess again, anger seems to steam from his expression. "Man! Why did you have to do that, that was expensive stuff! Im gonna have to kick your a** for that.", Panda whined before hopping over the bar, and throwing a heavy right hook.
[[I have now used one of my defensive cards, and I now only have one left. If I choose not to do my one super attack/combo in which I may use 3 dice; I may defend a 3rd time.]]

I love the idea, but I need to read the thread per se in order to see what you've come up with. It looks interesting, but I'm wondering stuff such like: -Will every attack deal the same amount of damage, or will the damage fluctuate depending on which weapon you're using? -How do you determine people's hit points? -Will we be able to "lv up" ? -How do we determine special abilities, and how do we acquire others? -Will we be able to roll dice in order to avoid or to resist certain attacks?
I'm thinking something kind of "Dungeons and Dragons"-ish, which I am familiar with, so if you have any questions or want to know more about my suggestions, let me know smile

Ruuvan feigns shock as the bottle crashes through the expensive alcoholic liquors, smiling under the hands which covered his face. "17 points left? That sucks!" He shouts exasperatedly, watching as Panda throws a right hook at his jaw.
With one quick lean backwards the fist sails through the air harmlessly, allowing Ruuvan to come back up freely and deliver and nose-breaking head-butt to Panda.

Im going to subscribe to KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. Im going to suppose that in this tournament every one is on the same level. Much like the arcade game. You can attack however you want to, but regardless you'll always be doing similar damage. To keep the fights fast and fluid, everyone has the following apply to them. Every one has 20 hit points. No more, no less. Every attack you roll damage of 2d6 You can choose to block or defend which ever attack you like. However you can only do this twice per fight. You may use a super attack, which can be anything from a fast combo landing multipul blows, to a fireball. This special attack can only be used once per fight and does damage of 3d6.
If your opponent chooses, and has a defencive move left, he/she may block it. Hence use it as a finishing move if you like.
If you have used all defencive moves and not yet used your special attack, you may trade your special attack for another final defensive move.
I feel that this fighting system is best for fourm based RPing, where people may only get one post in per day. So to have dice rolls for blocking and leveling up, fights would take weeks to conclude. And since you can only roll one kind of dice it may as well be damage.

Stumbling backwards, with a bloody nose the once mild mannered Panda is enraged. He kicks a light, orange foldable chair in his direction. This simply to serve as distraction as the agile young man spring boards off of a table sending a flying karate kick Ruuvan's way. "Arg now Im on 10 points!"

Ruuvan attempted to adopt a defensive position as the chair was flung his way, only to come out of it and be met with a flying kick. Panda's foot impacts on his chest sending him back a good few feet, crashing through an assortment of alcoholic drinks before coming to a stop. "Sunnuva!" He shouted loudly, running at Panda with an angered expression. With the gap closing and their proximity becoming rather close, Ruu extended his left arm and continued running in an attempt to clothesline Panda.

Luckily Panda read Ruuvan's moves in time. With out hesitation, he timed his counter, steping to the side and forward and with his full weight behind his right fist he threw a classic text book right straight hoping it would land firmly in Ruuvan's face.

HIT! [9/20] Special Move!
Ruuvan was once again sent reeling back from the punch, his face starting to get sore from all the aggressive behaviour. Still, he straightened back up and ran towards Panda with determination in his eyes.
It started off as a simple punch to the gut, then followed on to a uppercut and finally a roundhouse kick to finish it off. It was a hard move, but the rewards would be great.
