Laden was how Maia felt right now. She had never before felt so heavy on her feet and wondered if it was adulthood which had brought on this ponderousness and thickening of girth. One day she was frolicking in the sea, the next, well, slow. Her footsteps slid slightly in the muddy forest floor, and she sighed, trying to gain a grip.

Winter was almost at an end and, although she enjoyed a respite from the cold, the slushy mud from melting ice and snow annoyed her. It got on her paws, legs, belly, even splashing up onto her face sometimes. She just wanted to rest now, take the weight off her feet, perhaps snooze for a little while. What was wrong with her?!

The normally enthusiastic, cheerful and bouncy young female just could not summon any energy - especially now that she had filled her belly with fish. The technique the male had taught her had come in handy to the young female who found it so hard to blend in with the trees and natural tones of the world.

finding a clear spot of rock, out of the mud, the tired female slumped down. A trickle of sinlight warmed her as she half-dozed, wondering what on earth she was going to do next.

Ieshia didn't mind the change of season. But then, she was always one to take life in stride, to enjoy everyday no matter what was happening. So it only made sense that she would even enjoy the slush and the mude, walking and sliding through it with a grin and a laugh as she moved along through the bare trees. As she rounded a huge oak she paused, her gold eyes picking up a bright shade of orange that didn't blend in with the wintery gray. A scent caught her attention as well-a female wolfess, and she seemed tired. Without a second thought she loped over to the rock the other was resting upon, her movements confident and graceful without meaning to be. She offered a warm smile and said, "Why hello there."

Maia's eyes flashed up towards the wolfess who had, to her, suddenly appeared out of nowhere. She hadn't really been paying much attention - something that was really not advisable for a lone female. Luckily for her the one who had come across her seemed friendly. The orange and black spiky-marked female managed a wan smile to the other, raising her head up but not getting to her feet.
"Hello" she said, her voice quiet. It had been a while since she had had female company - it seemed that fate has conspired to throw her into the company of male ever since she had left home. It would be nice to be able to feel relaxed in another's company - especially one which, at least on the face of it, seemed rather genial.

Ieshia settled back on her haunches, curling her black tail around her feet. She sensed feelings of tiredness from the other female and didn't expect her to get up, certainly not. So she had settled down instead. It was only fair, and only curtious. She tilted her head a little, her black ears perked forward and her gold eyes flashing in curiousity and friendly, neighborly concern. "You feeling ok?" she questioned, as though they weren't complete strangers. Her smile offered an escape, or perhaps someone to confide in. But it was kind and welcoming.

The orange and black female smiled inwardly as the other came to rest in front of her. She didn't think she could have gotten up even had she wanted to. Her tail wagged at the overtly friendly manner of this female - she couldn't sense any animosity in her - but then again, Maia was not exactly the best judge of character.

"I'm not entirely sure" she answered, frankly. It hadn't been said in the usual 'how'd you do' manner of a simple greeting and so Maia answered it truthfully. There was just something about this other - a warmth perhaps. Maia was usually at least slightly wary around strangers despite her naevity. "I.. don't feel right..." she smiled, shrugging a little. It wasn't serious, she just felt a little down... age, yeah, age was the cause. Probably.

"Do you come from around here...?" Maia asked tentatively, wondering if this female was part of come larger clan. At least she didn't have to worry, it seemed, about being driven out. At least for now.

"Perhaps you're sick," Ieshia suggested casually. Not in a way that the comment was hurtful, it was more of...one that reassured another not to worry. "Everyone gets a bug now and then, mm?" She tilted her head a little, her eyes smiling just as much as her lips. Her tail swished gently, her air of greeting never seeming to fade. She was much like a warm home you wouldn't mind staying in for forever.

"Well, I don't really come from anywhere," she chuckled lightly, shaking her head. "What about you? Oh! Sorry, I'm Ieshia," she dipped her head ina polite nod.

Despite the tone, Maia did worry a little. She hadn't really considered she might be ill, not truly. It had been a long time since she'd felt unwell. So long, in fact, that the memories of that dim time, full of hunger and pain and fear were almost lost to the mists of time.

"Maybe..." she said, her voice betraying this slight worry. I don't feel ill, though, just.. tired. "I'm sure it's nothing.." she said, her voice betraying her reassured smile.

Glad to get onto this change of topic, Maia answered quickly. "I can't say I come from anywhere either... I'm... travelling just now." she smiled again, this time truly happily. She had always enjoyed travelling - being bogged down in one place for a long time wasn't her thing. "and I'm Maia" she added, feeling odd that this female, who seemed like she had known her for ages, did not already know it.

Ieshia's ears perked a little, for she noted Maia's slight dismay, being very empathetic. But her belief was clear and so was her confidence, for she could only smile with warmth, hoping to offer the other female heart, "I wouldn't worry. It'll pass, if that's the case." She continued on smoothly, going with the flow of conversation without much of a hitch. She might be a wanderer, but she was obviously very social. "I've always loved traveling...it's not the same as staying in one place. Every day is different, every place unique. It's wonderful," she mused with a grin, her gold eyes becomming a little distant for a moment, before they seemed to snap back with a glimmer of affection, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Maia."

Maia's smile broadened as if in reply to Ieshia's. "That a nice way to look at it" she wondered for a moment why it was she always wished to travel, didn't like being stuck down to one place for long. "I just... like it. It's like scratching an itch. I do enjoy finding out new things, seeing new places.. I even learned a lot since I left..." she paused, not wanting to say muc more. Despite being an adult now she still had this feeling her mother would come after her.

"Since I started travelling" she corrected herself. "I've even learned to fish!" that wasn't all she'd learned from her liason with the young male who had caught her attention. She didn't even begin to think thta she might ave gotten more than some affection from him. "And it's a pleasure to meet ou too, Ieshia..." she added, hastily. She meant it, it was just that she wasn't used to these sorts of friendly meetings. There had been her mother, then all of the males she had bumped into. None of this friendly chatter.. She liked it, she decided. Shifting a little to get comfortable, she wondered aloud at the female. "You travel alone?"

Ieshia smiled, "Yes, that's true. You can learn so much as you travel. It's often amazing, really, how much you find out." Traveling brought new places, new experiences, new life. It was all the same, yet all different and it was all something Ieshia treasured greatly. That was why she was doing what she was. "As a matter of fact-" Iesha began with a twinkle in her eye, a clam but powerful excitement filling the air around her, "I don't anymore. I've started a wandering pack, of sorts."

Maia's ears pricked up as the female mentioned this 'wandering pack'. As much as she didn't like staying in one place she did like company and she wondered if this wandering pack was as it sounded. "A wandering pack?" she asked, timidly, not wishing to seem too forward in trying to get information. It didn't seem as though this female would mind, though, and if she mentioned it it was because she didn't mind it being known, surely.

Maia had not truly ever been part of a pack. She had mostly only known her mother's company after they joined with Kara's pack then she had left home - before that they'd travelled alone. The thought of joining with some toher wolves right now seemed very appealing and she wondered if, maybe, they would accept her as one of theirs. If they were what they seemed to be.

Ieshia never lost that knowing, warm look in her eyes as she spoke with a very welcoming, but easy-going tone, "Mm hm~ We don't have a pack territory, we simply travel. We're a group who like to roam and enjoy the company of others. Some friends on the move, you could say." She cuckled a little, her tail beginning to sway in a rhythm. She tilted her head a little, looking Maia right in the eye gently, "You know...anyone is more then welcome to come along."

Maia's eyes lit up a little at the easily given implied invitation. Could it really be that she could join up and travel with others like herself? Despite her current condition she began to feel a lot more cheerful, an easy grin spreading across her face. Despite her travels she was still a relatively young she-wolf and it showed in her lack of guile when she replied instantly. "Oh.. if you'd have me I would love to join you!" - there was none of the calm and cool acceptance of an adult - just sheer enthusiasm.

The young she-wolf could really blossom amongst others, though she hadn't had the chance yet. Feeling like she needed to give something back for this wonderful oppertunity that was presentd to her she added. "I'll do anything you need!" She knew this female surely wouldn't ask anything of her she couldn't do but she would give all she had.

All of a sudden it waslike something inside broke and light was coming through - her mood had lifted so suddenly it was as though the young female had transformed.

Ieshia only laughed, a warm, cheerful sound, "Of course! I'd be more then happy to have you around." She tilted her head and winked with a smile. She slid to her paws, a confident and happy sway of her black tail moving through her. She shared the orange females energy and her passion. The more the merrier! At first the pack had been a sliver of an idea and now it was blooming. And having Maia, who seemed such a warm spirit, jump aboard was a great feeling. "Welcome to the group, Maia!"

Maia, on her feet in a flash, her tail held high and wagging furiously and grinned. "Thank you!" she beamed, suddenly feeling a whole lot lighter - as if some burden had been lifted from her. She wasn't sure what to do but she truly did want to do something. First of all, though, she thought she'd best find out who else was in her new pack so that she might recognise them.

"How many and who are the others of this pack?" she asked Ieshia. Fifty or two didn't matter - she wanted to know so she could meet, speak, talk to them. The thing driving Maia, perhaps, was a love for friendship, crossed paths, new encounters and this pack would allow her a base, friends and that wandering.
