My son is acting out a-lot, at first we thought he was going through the terrible twos coupled with jealousy over his baby sister getting a teensy bit more attention than him... but not only is he biting, he's hitting her in the head with hard plastic toys. What's worse, I don't know any way other than a swift smack on the butt to get him to stop it... and even that doesn't work 100%. I know that some things warrant a spanking, like hitting the baby in the head or biting, but if it's not working I have to find something else, because my dad just bitches (he lives with me btw) that we're spoiling him with time outs and that he needs a good hard spanking, but the dcf issue always comes up with me... I love my kids, and am seriously overprotective, but I have no clue what to do! Help me someone! I am only 21, and only know what to do with my daughter up to 2 years, and she's only 15 months younger than her brother... so that doesn't give me much time to take notes. If you could help me in any way it'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Somtimes it helps to sit and rock them for a little bit to calm them down.
