In our Century conciet, we believe we have the answers - if not to all the questions, at least to the important ones. But many curious enigmas continue to mystify and to challenge us. Have we truly defined time and space? Or are there dimensions that are still beyond our present understanding.
Disturbing Contacts Strange Disappearances The Road to the Fifth Dimension Uninvited Visitors Secrets of the Ancients Creatures from other worlds And other oddities that can be discussed in this topic
Hopefully all of you understand what is being discussed so go chat and shoot for the stars.
Ya'll know what to do
I'm in so much of a mellow mood that I literally have no other remarkable statements to add to this begining post.
Enjoy

What could the Fifth Dimension be, in any case? Somewhere in another thread, someone mentions how describing depth to a two dimensional being would be nigh-impossible, and so for us to attempt at comprehending what the Fifth Dimension would be is probably equally impossible.
I once read a book by Stephen Hawking, where he showed a picture of a two-dimensional animal attempting to eat. He shows a camel, and an apple next to its mouth. Then, he shows a picture of the camel split down its mouth, neck, and a curving path around its stomach-area, to its bowels, essentially splitting it in half. He says that in order for the apple to go through the camel, it must split like shown in the picture, so it would be impossible for it to exist as such in a two-dimensional world. I believe this is a good piece of proof that a two-dimensional world would probably be impossible, and a one-dimensional world more than likely be also impossible.
Since it's probably impossible for us to conceive how a five-dimensional world would exist, we can't necessarily assume that it would be impossible, but I think that it's a possibility that a four-dimensional world (what scientists would describe this world as) is the only physically possible world. If anything below four is impossible, than what are the odds that anything above four is as well?
Again, we can't say for sure, but that's just a thought that I had.

hmm, not sure if it really applies here, but something that I've been wondering.
Our concepts of Chemistry are based upon the ideas of electrons, protons, and neutrons; however, it is to my current understanding that we still have not isolated and "seen" any of them.
So... what if such concepts were merely a rationalization of the actual energies and material that was there.
In other words, is it possible that the concepts of electrons, etc are merely a conversion factor/step in between us and the truth.
Like if you took a pond (the actual energy) and said that all the still water was one thing (neutrons), the moving water another(protons), and all the fish and stuff inside was yet another thing (electrons)
I wonder how would that affect things. Any ideas?

blaugh Not everything in this world is plausible or can be explained logically. So basically anything is welcome in this thread as long as you follow the guidelines and rules of the guild. blaugh
All I can say right now, especially for the current memebers since we all have a basic understanding of the guild and its threads, is that whatever you feel belongs here is welcome. rofl

Like if you took a pond (the actual energy) and said that all the still water was one thing (neutrons), the moving water another(protons), and all the fish and stuff inside was yet another thing (electrons) I wonder how would that affect things. Any ideas? In 1926, Erwin Schrodinger, using Louis DeBroglie's 1924 proposal that electrons behave like waves in an atom, wrote out a wave equation for the electrons in an atom, which had solutions describing electron orbitals. A consequence of this notion, pointed out by Werner Heisenberg a year later, is that it is mathematically impossible to obtain precise values for both the position and momentum of a particle at any point in time; this became known as the Uncertainty principle. Instead, for any given value of position you could only obtain a range of probable values for momentum, and vice versa. Fortunately I still understand your angle. I just had to put those facts down so I can help put my thoughts together on this. Even if there is a possibilty that atoms etc were being used as a conversion factor I don't think there would be much of a difference if there was an alternate truth to what they truly were. Unless you take in some theories such as the contents or the atoms themselves contain another universe etc etc. rofl Sorry I just didn't believe using a pond as an example was the best way to do it. And you probably already read why. I still understand what you meant by it though.

This is true... if it is possible for me to live as long as I have without even knowing anything... then I am certin that knowledge is not necessary for living... well, if you call it living anyways.

Well I believe we do need knowledge on certain aspects, but to live no I'll have to agree with you on that part. Fortunately we all have our individual talents and all that so atleast each persons knowledge is unique to them. However insignificant it may seem.

Hubba hubba... gonk
Anyone have any scientific explanation of the 5th demension? I just finished reading about the fourth, and I don't know if I can stretch my head all the way to the 5th.
Now, aside that, what spiritual significance does it have?
Sorry for all the questions. Oh, look. Another.
What do you guys think about channelers? I don't believe 100% that Ramtha is a real entity, but it most certainly gives great wisdom through the lady which channels it.

Oh, knowledge is most certainly not required for physical human life. The majority of people (at least in the United States) know what is referred to as "common knowledge." It's hard to say whether or not that makes them intelligent, since common knowledge usually has little to no usage. D: As individuals, people mostly excel in a certain area. With combined skills, the overall knowledge or intellect of a group can become rather powerful, and this is when individual skills become most useful.

The Ramtha I am speaking of... well, it says that on the first page of wikipedia. gonk I never looked into the "history" of Ramtha. It could easily be assumed that you just looked that up and regurgitated it... no matter. I know Ramtha for their teachings, not their historical achievements. If you'd scroll down a little, you'd see the section on Ramtha's teachings. When reading the books, I didn't retain information such as where Ramtha came from. That actually did not matter to me much.

sweatdrop Well I can't exactly entirely remember it but I remember reading something about Ramtha in one of these books I have but I can't remember which one and searching through them is a "TASK" but from what I can recall ramtha taught his army everything he knew for like 100 and some odd days.
I think it was like before he died is when he started teaching.
sweatdrop Unfortunately I'm not sure which book I saw it in
