I just recently read this one, and I highly recomend it.

It is a rare author who can explain scientific matters in enough depth that you feel that they really are explained without resorting to technical gobbldygook and/or talking down to the readers.

Robert Wolke is one of those rare authors. What Einstein Told His Cook is full of fascinating explanations of all sorts of kitchen happenings. My favorite sections were those on the microwave, but all of it was interesting, informative, and often funny. The book is organized by sections but also by question--Wolke chooses his topics based on questions people have asked him--so that it is possible to read short sections at a time without losing track of what is being said.

I also read the sequel, What Einstein Told His Cook 2, and found it to be as much fun as the first.

There are recipes included, but I have not tried any of them.

What Einstein said to his depressed cat:
"I know what's wrong, dear fellow, but I don't know how to turn it off."
