My class is reading it but I already read it on my own (And LOVED it).
But the importent thing is, no one reads it like William Shatner. He just make the whole thing come to life (in his charmingly silly way). I have a recording of him reading Hamlet's To be or not to be and it's just tops. heart

Listening to someone read Shakespeare really helps it come alive (though I admit, I have never listened to Shatner read Shakespeare!).
Better still, find a video & watch the play.

Oh, I saw the play performed by my school and it was a gender neutral cast so Hamlet was female and she did a pretty good job, it was pretty awesome!!

I find Shatner's reading sonorous, but not for Hamlet. Keep in mind Hamlet is a child essentially. I like great British Shakespearean actors reading it because it is who it is written to be performed by. If you like to hear/see Shakespeare read, try Judy Dench as Lady Macbeth. What is everyone's favourite Shakespear monologue?

Favorite Shakespeare monologue? I really liked the 'Poor Yorik' and 'Friends, Romans, Countrymen' monologues. But I guess my vision is a bit skewed, because that when I watched Julius Caeser and A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cassius and Lysander were played by the best actors, so they ended up being my favorite characters. I absolutly loved Hamlet. I've never heard Shatner's version--I'll try and look into that. Did anyone see Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead?
