Kibo Botch

PostPosted: Sun Feb 18, 2007 6:25 pm

Name: Kibo Botch (I'm not good at making up names, and besides, Kibo is easy to remember.)

Image: User Image

On occasion (usually to pose as a legitimate, law abiding man), Kibo dresses himself in Admiral-worthy clothes.

Kibo, either to make himself seem more intimidating, or just to freak people out, can summon spirits that will change his appearance. This usually accompanies a raspy, chilling voice.

Age: 28

Origin: Kibo was born on an island about 10 miles away from Tortuga, but has never visited the town itself. When he was 15, he took up an apprenticeship at his local blacksmith. However, when he noticed money seeming to "appear" from nowhere, he began to snoop around, and eventually found his master in the middle of a deal with a pirate. Kibo jumped out and began to run, but was shot in the back of the leg, causing him to fall to the ground, where he passed out. He awoke on a strange ship with the same pirate who shot him in the leg towering over him. He later found out that he had been "volunteered" for a crew position by his master. Since there was really no way off the ship, Kibo became a loyal crewman for 10 years. Even in this long servitude, he had still never set eyes on the city of Tortuga. However, he was accidentally left behind after a pillaging that went awry. He was imprisoned for nearly 2 years, but escaped, and immediately headed for Tortuga, the pirate haven he had heard of, but never seen. Although only lightly armed, he calmed himself with a secret; one that would undoubtedly be helpful.

Upon reaching Tortuga, he "borrowed" a large sum of money another ship, and bought his own, naming her the Godspeed. Eventually, he came to own the ship of his rival, Sir Tiny, named the Lightning, later changing it's name to the Dagger. This changed his title from Captain Kibo Botch, to Commodore Kibo Botch. However, it was a short-lived title. With a visit to England, and a large sum of money, Kibo managed to bribe the king into giving him the title of Admiral. By then, Sir Tiny, beleived to be dead, had returned, and given Kibo five more ships, in return for the honor that came with the name of his previous ship, the Lightning.

Name: Chris Farind

Age: 43 upon death

Origin: Farind was born in a far away land, near the earth's edge. It was there that he was raised, and since childhood, he had an in-depth understanding of the world of the dead. A prodigy in the art of Necromancy, he left home, and at the young age of 18, he had already become a feared captain in the waters of his homeland.

After several years however, money became scarce, mostly because Chris had pillaged the area so thoroughly that ships simply stopped trying to bring goods to the area. Farind, looking for a new place to make himself known, set his eyes upon the caribbean. Upon arrival, he met up with a man, and quickly made a "deal" with him, at the point of a blade. To spare the rest of his family, the man gave Farind his oldest son, a 15-year-old by the name of Kibo Botch. Farind gave the man several large sums of money, telling him to train the child, but not reveal his ultimate fate. However, this was not to last. The snooping child managed to sneak his way into a meeting between Farind and Kibo's father. Farind noticed him, and as Kibo tried to run, Farind shot him in the back of the leg, and took him aboard, no longer able to keep his secret. Kibo surprisingly took his fate fairly well, and eventually became the jewel of Chris' crew. He rose through the ranks, and even apprenticed in Necromancy, which he had a natural talent for.

This lifestyle was not to last. On what appeared to be a routine raid, Farind, in panic, loaded too much gunpowder into his pistol, causing it to explode in his hand. The hammer blew off first, and lodged itself deep within the captain's chest. As he lay bleeding on the ground, Kibo ran over to him, and touched his fingers to the wound. Farind, understanding what Kibo was going to do, accepted his death, knowing he would be be so for long.

Indeed, within the week, Kibo had raised Farind, even if only in spirit. After several years, Farind saw Kibo rise through the ranks, first to Captain, then Commodore, where Kibo bestowed on Chris an exact replica of his beloved Glowing Blaze. Farind joyfully took the helm, and has been pirating again, with his own menagerie of spirit crewmen, ever since.

Name: Thomas Renji

Age: 30 upon death

Origin: Thomas Renji was born in the same village, on the same day, as Chris Farind, and the two became friends since the age of 7. Renji, the son of a wealthy merchant in the parts, was quite the daredevil. He loved anything that involved risk, especially life-threatening stunts. It was no wonder that when Farind took up the hobby of pirating, Renji was the first to join his crew. Being first, he naturally became first mate, and quickly became addicted to the lifestyle, giving up his apprenticeship under his father, and leaving on long journeys.

After several years of pillaging, the money finally dried up in their hometown. Renji, unwilling to leave the village, was, for the first time in his life, cautious. He eventually decided to leave Farind's crew, and stay in the land of his birth. However, upon returning to the town, he was found by a mob of villagers who were pillaged by the duo, and lynched.

Within weeks, Renji was raised by Farind. Realizing there was nothing left for him, Renji decided to rejoin Farind's crew. Since he quit the crew, he had to start from the bottom of the ladder again, but he quickly rose through the ranks, soon becoming first mate once again. It was at this time that Farind began teaching Renji the art of Necromancy. Renji, having a firsthand account of death and being raised, quickly picked the material up, soon becoming one of the few post-humous Necromancers.

While Renji was training under Farind, the ship got its newest crew member, a fresh young man named Kibo Botch. Chris liked the boy, and taught him the art right alongside Renji. First rivals, Kibo and Thomas soon became friends, almost inseperable. They've been pillaging, plundering, rioting, and looting together ever since. Drink up, he 'earties, yo ho!

((I know where it's from. I absolutley hate the show, manga, and all that, but I just think Faust looks so friggin' cool!))

Origin: Faust was a man, a lonely man, who spent his time researching true happiness. He turned to all sorts of sources, even the Dark Arts (namely, Necromancy) in an attempt to reach the apex of all human happiness. Eventually, his travels led him into the clutches of Mephistopheles, the human incarnation of the Devil himself. Faust struck a deal with the "man." Mephistopheles would grant Faust whatever he asked for, and in return, at the moment Faust reaches the true apex of happiness, he will die, and Mephistopheles will get his soul. This is all because of a bet between Mephistopheles and the Lord himself, that Mephistopheles could not get Faust to turn from his studies. He distracted him with riches, women, and power, but Faust still remained true to his task. Now, 200 years later, he still searches for that one moment where he can be truly, ultimately, happy.

Name: Charon

Age: unknown

Image: I'm looking for one

Origin: Charon is the spirit that inhabits the mythic blade "Charon's Claw," a blade forged long ago by the Netherese. Anyone who touches the blade or handle of this sword unprotected must compete with it in a battle of wills. This is a highly difficult task, as the sword is immensely strong-minded. If the wielder fails in this task, his/her soul is consumed by the blade, while the skin and flesh of the skull is also burned away. This ability can be used by the bearer of the sword, but it requires prolonged contact with the enemy, several seconds (One can also impale an enemy with it and let it work). Charon's Claw can be willed by its wielder to leave trails of ash in the air, creating temporary opaque walls to give an edge in battle and also to produce a strange black glow to act as a light in the darkness which renders the wielder invisible to infravision. The sword is also enchanted so that even a small nick or cut will prove eventually fatal, as the wound will fester and eventually poison the victim.

Charon was defeated in a will battle by Kibo, who lost his left arm in the battle. Charon's claw changed forms, assuming the form of Kibo's left arm. However, Charon bore ill feelings, and eventually attempted to use Kibo's own anger to increase his strength enough to take over most of Kibo's body. However, Kibo maintained enough control to drag Charon into another battle of the wills, in which Kibo once again prevailed. This time, regaining his left arm, he sealed Charon into the RingString, a gold ring attached to a blood-red string which extends from and retracts to Kibo's right palm. Upon much experimentation, Kibo realized he could now manipulate the form of Charon's Claw, forming it into several different weapons:

Charon's Lunge: Pike
Charon's Lash: Whip/Axe
Charon's Swipe: Scythe
Charon's Guard: Blood-Red Armor
Charon's Grip: A barbed sort of "piano wire" choking device.
((Those are all I can remember right now. I plan on making a bow-and-arrow and a pistol thing too. But not yet))

During all of these transformations, Charon retains it's special abilities.

Nice story, I wish I could come up with one like that for Bigfoot...
