No...not me.
I was channel surfing tonight and found a documentary on the Discovery Channel titled "I Eat 33,000 Calories A Day." I watched the entire episode...and let me tell you, it really inspired me to keep up with my weight loss.
These people were called "super morbidly obese", they ate an amazing amount of food. The show had a table and showed all the food each one of these people ate in an entire day- it was just unbelievable. It made me feel ill just seeing all of it. I felt bad for these people- they have a food addiction- but when I heard one guy spends like 14,000 dollars on chocolate a year I was like man, that's so much money, you know? I don't make that much in a year.
So if you see it on TV, maybe give it a watch. It was interesting and really motivated me to keep going in the healthier direction of things.
Oh, and if anyone else saw it, I'm interested to hear what you thought of the program.

I havent seen that one, but I have seen similar programs of people weighing upwards of 700 pounds. Its really kind of scary, that someone would let themselves get that far out of control. I understand that sometimes being overweight is hereditary, but things like eating 10 cheeseburgers from mcdonalds has nothing to do with how much your family weighs. 14k a year on chocolate? thats more than I make as well, and thats just...yucky. Things like chocolate taste the best when they are treats. not a food staple D:

Honestly, I don't get the big hype over Super Size Me.
Eat nothing but McDonald's all day everyday, and you gain weight and health problems....no, really? It's common sense.
I dunno, that guy just annoys me for some reason. It's like he has some huge ego now that he did that, and I don't like that.

That I agree- I just read his book and you can tell he cares about this issue and all, but he comes across as cocky. I liked SSM, though. I think people eat out more than they realize. Him eating 3 times a day was a lot, but fast food restaurants have those kinds of customers: one will eat at McDonald's for breakfast, Taco Bell for lunch, and grab a pizza to take home for dinner. His documentary was slightly far-fetched, but not by much. His book is interesting, though. I'd read it again.

I saw that documentary ("33,000 Calories Per Day"); it was very motivating, but the film was kind of mean to the people, always showing close-up shots of their mouthes chewing to make them look as disgusting as possible. It came across more as a freakshow rather than an educational program.

I wish they went into more about their food addiction and their problems, instead of just going, "Here's some fried chicken, eat it!" Watching that first guy eat was rather gross.

I like to see those things on T.V. but they eventually gross me out because of that person.s food addiction. When I watch those I quickly go back on a diet again and eat helathy. They just scare me to death.

I havent seen the 30 000 one but I have seen super size me and have work for MacDonalds for the last 7years and I will say there are people who there 3 times a day everyday and i have seen thin people gain a lot of weight but on the other side I had a co-worker try the super size me thing and lost over 100lbs. And I would also like to coment on one of the other posts, A study in England has prooven that being over weight is not hereditary. when you see an over weight family its because there all eating the same crap. This was a major topic in one of my classes. Also due to this study they are now trying to pass a law there saying that its abuse to allow your chiled to be over weight. If I can find the artical on this I will post it.

I think it was in England.

My class had a huge dibat about it a lot of the younger ones in my class agreed that if a child is over weight there are not being taken care of and fed the right foods but on the onther side any parents in my class said its not right to take a child away from there parents for that resion. Im actually intersted on how it will turn out.

I've seen it, too. I wonder how these people have enough money for so much food. That one guy ate, what? 12 Twix's and Snickers a day?

I saw this one and a good one that aired after it, about a hospital for obese people. That show was awesome. I watched it at home, and then when it was time to hit the gym I ran over to the gym and flipped it on. Trust me, that kept me in the gym for hours, both because I didn't want to leave the TV and it was keeping me motivated to never let myself turn out like that.
