Master Constructor
(Presige Class)

"I always was good at making friends."

Some people fight their own battles, some stand back and let others do the work, a few summon forth a creature to handle the task, only one in a great many master the abilities required to become truly skilled at creating others to do the work for them. Where a fighter uses muscles, a rogue uses stealth, a cleric divine might, a Master Constructor learns to builds his own personal constructs to combine the three into lethal combinations. Both Psions and arcane caster follow this path when they desire an army at their beck, whether for good or ill, that will follow to the bitter end. Of course as the constructs become more life-like, the Master Constructor begins to treat them more like the lifeforms they resemble than the animations they are.

Improve Construct: As a Master Constructor gains levels he gains the ability to improve his constructs at the cost of added components. To determine the added cost add together all the levels of abilities the construct gains and multiply this number by 500, this number is added to the cost of the entire ceremony. This in no way affects the cost of creating the body or the time taken to perform the ceremony itself.

Bonus Hit Die: The listed number is the number of extra dice of hitpoints the construct has. This improvement may be taken at only one level

Melee Damage: The listed number is the extra damage that a construct may deal in melee combat. This improvement may be taken at only one level.

Ranged Damage: The listed number is the bonus damage a construct may deal with a ranged weapon. This improvement may only be taken at one level.

Move Rate: Number by which a constructs movement rate increases. This Improvement may only be taken at one level.

Special Move: Alternate methods of movement that a construct may use.

Natural Armor: Improvement to a constructs Armor Class which counts as Natural Armor. This Improvement may only be taken at one Level.

Stat Points: Additional stat points available at creation to be distributed as desired by the Master Constructor. May only be taken at one level.

Special Abilities: Additional abilities to make a construct more versatile.

Spell Level Once/Day: The level of a spell a construct can cast once a day.The creator must cast the spell during the creation.

Spell Level Thrice/Day: The level of a spell which a construct can cast three times a day. The creator must cast the spell during creation.

Spell Level Unlimited: The level of a spell a construct can cast at will. The creator must cast the spell during creation.

Bonus Feats: The number of bonus feats the construct gains. The Master Constructor doesn't need to know the feat, but all prerequisites must be filled. Construct spells don't count as spellcaster levels. This Improvement may only be purchased at one level.

Efficient Construction: Master Constructors learn to perform construction creation ceremonies relying more on mystical components than physical components. At second level and every two levels thereafter the cost of the ceremony (but not the body) decrease by 20%. However, to use this ability a spell of your highest level is sacrificed for twice the duration of the ceremony, i.e. a ceremony lasting one week will cost the loss of a spell for two weeks.

Madness: At second level a Master Constructor begins to have problems differentiating between their creations and real creatures. To differentiate between the two successfully a Will check (DC 15) is required to treat them as construct instead of mortal.
At fifth level the madness has progressed to the point where a Will Check (DC 25) is required to acknowledge any differences between the constructs and normal people.
At eighth level the madness has progressed to a degree that a Master Constructor can no longer tell his creations from mortals unless the fact is forced upon him by a source he trusts implicitly or through use of a spell such as True Seeing.

Mystical Construct: At third level a Master Constructor has become so adept at creating constructs he is no longer required to cast spells during their construction. In order to do this he instead sacrifices the appropriate spell levels and suffers no other penalty during ceremony.

Item of Power: At third level a Master Constructor has uncovered lost secrets that allow him to reduce the time spent in Construct creation ceremonies. For each rank of Item of Power he can reduce the total time of the ceremony by 16 hours (2 days of work to a minimum of 1 day). To do so the Master Constructor is required to replace critical components in the ceremony with rare items (DM specification), these items are expensive and cannot be reduced in cost by their Efficient Construction abilitiy.

Item of Astral Power: At fifth and seventh level the Master Constructor has discovered a secret that allows him to replace 25% of the required XP per rank with an Item of Astral Power. This is similar to an Item of Power, except it is found almost exclusively on a different Plane, though not necessarily the Astral Plane.

*Note to DMs - This class is excessively powerful if allowed too much downtime. It is important that the charcter actually roleplays finding the necessery items, as it is possibly the only action the charcter will encounter on his own. Further, this class has a tendency to control the entire campaign in it's search for items, therefore it is important to consider the goals of your campaign before allowing this class. Whereas a PC should never be allowed too much time to recuperate before heading off for the next item, it is possible that an elderly Master Constructor is encountered who sends out parties of constructs to locate the required parts, while waiting safely in his Construct-Fortress.

You know, I have no idea how to use code.
