Tuna's F!tness Log <3 <3
I got to say this is such a funtastic idea! Sure I've been keeping a private fitness log for a while now but maybe it's time I get a little more public. This seems like a great place to get tips and make improvements. Any feedback would be so appreciated!
My work out style has thus far been pretty successful thanks to the helpful gentleman at the Armed Forces recruitment center and my personal cheer team (i.e. supportive friends and family). I probably wouldn't have done much to change my health had the Navy not provided a good incentive for me to get off my sorry a** and work out.
GOALS At 5'6.6'', I used to weigh a whopping 175 lb (and a year ago it was even more hideous) but have since dropped down to 164lb. This is great but it still puts me a pound over my weight class (BFP wise I am okay though but I want to avoid getting taped when I go to Military Entrance Processing Station). My goal is to lose at least six more pounds before my ship date in March.
It's not only the matter of wanting to make my weight class but I also want to score well on my qualifications test, so I have more then one incentive to get fit. It's going to be difficult but I'm I'm jazzed for the challenge though!
WORK-OUT SCHEDULE Morning - Stretches - 30 minute run - 3 Sets of 20 Push-Ups - 3 Sets of 20 Crunches - 50 Obliques - 30 Minute Morning Walk with the Dog
Evening - Stretches - 60 Minute Hike with the Dog - 30 Minute Run - 3 Sets of 20 Push-Ups - 3 Sets of 20 Crunches - 50 Obliques

Yeah, that is quite the workout. Just be sure you don't make it too hard on yourself too fast, for many reasons. Ya don't wanna get burned out too soon, or give yourself an injury.
Good luck, and keep working hard like you are now! What kind of dog do ya have? 3nodding

Hey everyone! Well it's several months later and I have been sticking pretty religiously to my workout routine (which I have since modified from when I last posted back in March)
The good news is that I have dropped 7 pant sizes since getting out of boot camp and continuing to work out twice a day, five days a week. I've also been trying to eat healthier which has helped too. Biggest lesson I've learned so far is not to be too dependent on the scale. It can be so misleading when you end up gaining a lot muscle weight.
My Daily Work Out Routine [Currently] Morning - 2 Mile Run or - 45 minute cardio session (cycling, treadmill, ect.)
Afternoon -30 minute ab work out -30 minute run (usually about 4+ miles)
Well thanks for the encouragement! I'll try to keep updating as things progress.
ps; I have a fantastically adorable German Shepherd.

Well, it wasn't easy. But I had a good eight weeks of military training that put me on the right track. The hardest part was pulling myself out a sedatary life and learning to enjoy a good work out!

I could not survive even a boot camp workout at the gym gonk I wish I could. . . but my asthma would kick my a** harder than the workout itself gonk
And congrats x1,000,000 on the 7 pant sizes lost! You need to post some before and after photos of yourself. :]

No kidding, I felt bad for the kids with asthma in my division. Alot of them had to get discharged half way through training because they simply couldn't exert themselves to the degree we were being pushed at. There were a couple people we had asthma and were able to make it through and I sure do admire them for their struggle.
At any rate, I don't reccommend anyone try to mimmick bootcamp style exercise unless they are supervised. It can get kind of dangerous.
You know, I should post some pics! I'll try doing that after I get a camera and reliable computer access set up (instead of mooching off my roommate, haha)
