:::As she appears fully in Kal's world, her eyes widen. The light is much stronger than anything she's experienced in the Brink for a long time, and yet she knew she was indoors. The air around her was warm. Her feet felt the cold marble of the floors, and she looked up to see cold sleek stone walls, who's ceilings reached easily a hundred feet high. There were sections of the marble walls cut out, square compartments about 4 feet on each side, showing the outside world. Cora couldn't even look at it. it shined so brightly, and her eyes were so unfocused. She wanted to bring up her arms to shield them, but she felt lethargic and exhausted. She managed to get them half way up, and gave up, closing her eyes shut tight, and hiding he face near Kal's shoulder:::

:::Kal looked around, quickly, as if to make sure his world hadn't exploded or anything, as a result of bringing Cora in. After he was convinced that everything was as he left it, he looked down at one of the cushioned chairs a few feet in front of him, to see the expression on his friend's face::::

*Adonis had been laughing.* And now the elders don't know what to do with him because he's--
*Adonis' laughter stops abruptly and he flinches as a young woman appeared out of nowhere, standing next to Kal. His face pales and his mouth drops open.*
By Luca-! *He stands up in a flash. There are a few seconds of silence as Adonis takes in the woman's strange hair-do and clothing.* Wh-where...? How...?
*Then realization stems across his face.*

I'm sorry, but listen. Yes. Whatever you're thinking. Yes. ...and I'm gonna need your help. She's not doing too well. She mixed some drugs, and they're having a bad effect on her, and I wanted to bring her here to sober up. Actually, to see if I could get Bio-Ren for her...

Bio-Ren... *Adonis echoed.* Good lords, what ... *Drugs. There were psychotropic - and powerful - drugs in the Brink of Time. How...?* What did she take? How much?

:::It was apparent on Kal's face that he was trying to keep his cool. He wasn't angry at Adonis, really Kal wasn't expecting anything different. It was the whole situation that made him uneasy:::
Adonis... please. This is a bad time. I just need you to go to Elder Marale and ask for a dose of Bio Ren. Tell her that it's me who's requesting it, and that I'll explain later, but right now it's an emergency.

:::Kal was busy looking down the hall nervously, glad that he made his need for privacy a well known fact among servants and court people.
He was about to protest when he realized Adonis was right. No one would give Adonis something like Bio Ren... even he himself would have problems explaining himself. Especially since he couldn't explain it at all. Kal hung his head:::
Fine... fine.
:::He looked back at the door to his chamber, and grabbed Cora's arm, and he spoke quietly to her as he led her in:::
Stay in here, alright? Adonis is going to watch the door and make sure no one comes in and out. Just remember, don't talk to anyone about who you are. I'll be back in just a few minutes, I promise.
:::Then he squeezed her shoulder supportively. Cora didn't seem to have any fight in her, which was expected. She stood on the opposite side of the threshold as Kal closed the door:::
:::He looked at Adonis:::
You catch that? Just watch the door. I'm going to Elder Marale myself. I won't be long so just sit tight.

*Adonis watched Kal, a worried look on his face. He glanced at the woman, standing expressionless in the next room. Whatever drugs she'd taken appeared to have put her into something of a walking coma.*
*He turns to Kal.* Go. Get her what she needs. I'll make sure no one sees her.

*Adonis guarded the door, as Kal asked of him. Adonis began to wonder what he would do or say if someone came in the room and asked where Kal had gone. He came up with some relatively simple excuses, but what about when he returned holding a vile of Bio-Ren? Any cover Adonis worked out would thin right then and there.*
*It might be better to ... wait behind the door. That was really the best and perhaps only way to avoid questions completely - while still guarding the person inside.*
*And he wasn't going to talk to her. Besides in the state this woman was in, it was probably best that she not be left alone anyway.*
*With this newfound reason, Adonis checked to make sure no one was in sight and entered the room, quietly closing the door behind him.*
