For those who aren't familiar with the product, Boursin cheese is a cheese spread you can buy in these little containers for $4.00 or so. It's a lot cheaper to make
a phony version at home, and it's so easy it's painful.

1 8oz brick of cream cheese, room temperature
1 stick (1/4 lb) butter, room temperature
1-2 garlic cloves, crushed or minced
1.5 tsp dried fines herbes or herbes de provence

Mix cream cheese and butter well. Add garlic and herbs. Let sit in refrigerator for at least 4 hours to allow flavors to blend. Serve with crackers or vegetable sticks.

That's it.

I've found that 1 clove of garlic is more than enough for this; the garlic really permeates the stuff after you let it sit. But some people like loads of garlic.

You can vary the flavors by playing around with the dried herbs you use.

To make a nice presentation you can mold it in a small rice bowl: line the bowl with plastic wrap, spoon in the cheese mixture to fill, then fold edges of the plastic wrap back over the cheese. Chill until firm. To unmold: lift the top edges of the plastic wrap, upend the bowl onto a plate, and remove the wrap. You should have a nice little half dome of cheese spread.
