I just realized that I can never tell my mom that I'm satanist...(I have a way of asking questions to get the answer to the bigger question. quite niffty mrgreen ) so, basically my questions are...
who did you tell?
how differently did they treat you afterwords?
was it the right thing to do?
((I'm still wondering if I should tell my best friend.))

I've told a few friends.

One "friend" (that I hardly talk to) thought it was cool. My other friend doesn't really like it (she says she's Wiccan) but doesn't really care. Another friend doesn't know how much I'm into Satanism, but when I told him I was interested a while ago, he was just like "oh." I'm not sure who else knows, I'm sure there are others who suspect it, but it hasn't changed anything between me and anyone that I know of.

I don't see why you'd have to tell your best friend unless the subject comes up. If they ask about your beliefs, tell them. You don't have to mention the Satan part, but if you think they'd be alright with it then go ahead.

Actually…I read in your other thread that you’ve only been a Satanist since this weekend. I can understand that you must be excited about your new belief/philosophy/religion thing, but you should wait a while before you tell anybody. I remember when at first I was really into Laveyan Satanism and I couldn’t help but tell a few people, and now I look back on it and see how silly I was being. Like I said you should probably wait a while before you call yourself anything for sure or tell people.

ah, yes. the reason I want to tell my bf about it is because we both come from families that are pretty much the same and we were like almost depressed, but when I discovered this Laveyen Satanism I totally agreed with everything this Lavey guy said and it made me feel good about myself and i dont want my friend to be depressed for the rest of her life.

I was depressed until I found out about Satanism. Like, really depressed. But then when I started to read its philosophies, I became a happier more social person. Go figure.

You can tell your friend about it, but that doesn't mean you have to tell her you're a Satanist.

There are certain people close to me that I would never tell.
I figure if they don't accept me being transgendered, they sure as hell wouldn't accept my religious choice.

I told my mom not long ago... and well... she freaked and started praying... and saying something about "exorcism" or something.

But, then, she sorta accepted it.

Otherwise, I've only told... 3 people. One stopped even saying my name or looking my direction, but the other two took it cool and even looked into it. It wasn't really for one of them, but the other was agreeing with everything. She's still reading up on it and stuff. I'm proud of my two real friends. smile They make me happeh.

In response to the questions in the order they were compiled:
1. I've told only the friends I have on the Web, as well as who may come across my chat logs, and also, the person 'fortunate' enough to be in a debate that calls for my mentioning it.
2. It does not matter to me how random strangers treat me - because I can retaliate with twice the harshness, easily, and without remorse.
3. Standing beside what I believe in is a key virtue to me. If it is something I live by and care for deeply, I will defend it without hesitance. ..that is, unless there is something more rewarding out of an alternative.

I told like two of my friends that i was into it and stuff, so one of my friends is borrowing The Satanic Bible, but she's taking forever to read it.
lol
but neither of them care whether i'm different to them in that aspect.

Most everybody I know (save for my mom) knows. Everybody in my fifth period makes a big joke about it because I'm a satanist. I can do several "demonic" sounding voices. Some people have taken to calling me Satan... or Lucifer... or Buddha... People refer to me using alot of religious references. Anyways, all of my freinds, and even the pastor at my local baptist church where I hang out, are all cool with it. One of my freinds wants me to take my Satanic Bible and go around saying, "The power of Christ compells you!", waving it like a normal bible... I'm half tempted to... The biggest annoyance, though, is everyone not saying the name right.
Also, the funny thing is I live in the pseudo bible belt, so... huh...

I am also new and the truth is I have not told anyone completely. I've just dropped hints at the truth and their reactions were not good, but I do not care for their opinions. I need to follow the path I choose for me.
