Soups?
I like making my own and trying them out.
  I usually buy canned ones.
I use both canned and homemade soups equally.

So I'm not that big of a soup person, but after giving it many changes I have grown to like some flavors, such as tomato. When I saw the commercials for Progresso 100 calorie soups, I knew I could incorperate it into my diet.

My favorite is making cabbage soups, because cabbage is so flexible with any flavor. It is very very low calorie, and it also keeps you chewing so it fills fast.

A lot of soups have very little calories but are great for meals!

I really like pumpkin soup, it's so creamy, but it's probably a little on the fatty side,
cause of the butter and cream. sad
Minestrone soup's nice too and I think it's much better for you and very flavorsome.
My mum makes tomato soup from cans of whole peeled tomatoes,
but she puts alot of sugar in it and it's very watery, it's ok but I think it could be better. ^^'
I can't really think of any others at the moment. I'll try and find some recipes.

I love soup. ^^

For lunch, sometimes one of the things I'd bring along is a packet of Cup O Soup- only 35 calories. My school has boiled water ready for anyone to use, so I just mix the two together in a thermos. It was surprisingly filling too, and tasted really good. With a few water crackers (fat-free), it could almost be a complete lunch. xd

I like Progresso's Hearty Penne soup. It doesn't have any meat chunks or anything, which I like because I'm not a big meat eater, and it only has 80 calories per serving (so, 160 cals per can). You could eat the whole can and it would definitely fill you up without a ton of calories. 3nodding

Oh, and miso soup, of course! If you get the instant packets, I think it's only around 65 calories at the most. 3nodding And it's yummy for people who like Japanese food! <3

I like alot of the Campbell's Select soups....it's about 180 calories per serving(2 servings per can) so I'll just make soup and salad for me and my bf for dinner once and a while.

I'll get a can of soup but then add veggies to it...corn, celery, squash, whatever. It makes it extra yummy.

I tried out the most delicious soup recipie today for lunch.
I got it in a thread in the food forum.

Here it is:

Nummy Mushroom Soup
Also known as 3 Mushroom Soup in the Sonoma Diet Cookbook

Make about 4 servings

No measuring required! Seriously!
2 portabello mushroom caps, chopped
handful of regular mushrooms, chopped
handful of shiitake mushrooms, chopped
(try other kinds of mushrooms)
1/2 cup onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3 sprigs of fresh thyme or 1 teaspoon dried thyme
3 cans vegetable broth/stock (or chicken stock)
olive oil

Drizzle olive oil in a pot (a good size, not too shallow, not too deep) and cook mushrooms, onion, and garlic until moisture cooks out (medium heat). It'll be about 10 minutes. Add the broth and thyme. Bring to boiling, then bring back down to medium heat. Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.

I made it with only normal mushrooms, and substituted garlic flakes for fresh garlic (put in with the broth, not cooked with the veggies). I didnt use any thyme either. I used about 2 tsp of oil. It turned out great, and only about 50 calories a serving.

Seriously, try it. It was fabulous, and its healthy. Very filling too 3nodding .
