This form will walk you through creating your role playing character, so that we all have a great time.

I recommend opening a second window of a text program to copy all this down and work as you go.

If you are a speedy one, and know how this all works than take your bio and post it in the "character approval pending" sticky. Once a mod quotes it and says its approved than go on to making your personal form. But read the rules first!

The Basics

First off, you must think up a character that is sutable for the guild. I've provided a format that you must follow and after all sections of that format are completed, you may add more yourself.

The basics are everything from your username on gaia, to your characters appearence.

Gaia name: -Your username on gaia, its your responsibility if you change it to inform me or a mod.

Name: -The name you roleplay as, please as close to a first and last name as possible

Bending skills: -The element you have control over. No one but the avatar has control over more than one. So none of this "my mom is a waterbender, and my dad is an earthbender. So I can bend both!" You will be banned on instant if I ever see that.

Age: Everyone in this guild with the exception of me and my mods will start as beginners. Meaning that you havent been bending that long or your just a very low level. So i'm expecting ages to vary around 10 - 15 for beginners.

Bio: -Your life story...as long as you wish. The longer the better.

Opinion on war: -for it / agenst it / willing to fight / dont care / etc.

Current Location: -You will be givin a map later on that will tract your movement in the avatar world. So in this section you must put where you are posting your very first post. All areas discovered are accepted, but made up locations must go through me and givin an actual location on the world map.

Appearence: This line is for a picture link. If you choose to post it in its [img form than make sure its not huge or its placed at the top or bottom.
Height: Your exact height in either feet or meters. I understand that the internet spreads further than the US and many people follow the metric system.

Weight: Your exact weight in either pounds or grams. I understand that the internet spreads further than the US and many people follow the metric system.

Eye color: Irony strikes in avatar seeing how firebenders have gold eyes, waterbenders have shades of blue, earthbenders have shades of green and brown and airbenders have brown. So your describing the brightness of your eyes.

Hair: -Self explanitory, include color and length. If you provide a picture than you may use " to fill this section.

Build: -What shape you are in. If you work out you may be muscular but 10 year old boys are not body builders and 15 year old girls are not twigs.

Bending Level

Your bending level is how strong of a bender you are. All beginners in this guild have the option to start anywhere from level 0 to level 3. Zero means that your abilities are just developing, and three means than you have slight control. Being taught bending will increase your level but teaching yourself doesnt really give you any experience so you will learn slower. Throught your roleplaying at this guild you will take many lessons and classes that will speed up your leveling.

The higher level you are the stronger you are. Another perk of having a high level means that you have less movement needed to perfrom abilities.

There are 20 levels total
1-5 being beginners
6-10 being intermediate
11-15 being master
16-20 being legendary master

Personal Map

Thought many role plays, people randomly appear where the action is. This is to prevent that! Your movement will be tracked on your own personal map of the world. Now if you have been traveling before the role play starts that work that out! We have ways of fixing these things!

For starters: this is the blank personal map.
(To save: Right click on the photo, and hit save as. Apple users, your on your own.)
User Image

•Note: Although the show never really explains if there is more to the avatar world, we can assume the map is globular.

As a short example here is a map of a user.
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Followed by his travel log.

Quote:

You must have a short explanation in chronological order using colors and shapes as references.

I have slight Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and I must request that they are done bullet style, as shown.
(To create a bullet: Hold down Alt, press 0 1 4 9, than release Alt. Creating a bullet Mark •••)

Creating Your Personal Map

If you have the ability, it would be really great for you to create your own personal map. If not you simply have to post a list of your traveling log in the Character Help sticky.

If you DO have the ability than all you must do is save the image, and open it in a paint(-like) program. Edit in any unnecessary locations and once completed, simply save it and upload it onto a photo service like photo bucket.

•Youngflame Note. I recommend using photo bucket because its services are free and easy to use.

These maps are not required to be perfect, just acceptable and understandable. The example I provided was made by a mod so it is a little better than what is acceptable.

Stats / Bending Skills

This post in your personal form will be made for you, so once you finish posting your map wait untill a mod makes the post. This coveres your level to your abilities.

Your stats are as follows:

As you get higher in level, you bending skills will be added here as well.

Training log

Your training log is made by you, so that you can edit it whenever you finish a lesson or train.

Basically you just need to make a list of things you have done, number of posts, experience, what you have learned, and where this activity was done.

Each addition should look like this.

Activity: (waterbending 101, sparring, weight lifting, etc.)
Number of Posts: (Duhh)
Teacher Present: (Username of teacher, or none)
Experience Gained: (However much your teacher gives you)
Gained: (Specific Abilities, money, etc.)
Location: (the link where the training took place)

Extra posts

By now you have enough information to make your required four posts. But after that, its a waist of space to leave them with just four. So the following posts are all up to you!

Some members find it useful to have them be a day by day personal diary. Others with pets or animals have posted info on them, and others leave them uncreated. All are accepted but try to keep it to the guild!

Setting up your own Form

Before your create your own topic, you must get your character approved in the characters pending approval topic.

The way your personal fourm will be set up is actually a rule.

The first post contains the information about your character.

The second post is your personal map. STOP MAKING POSTS NOW! After your second post WAIT for a mod to make your third post. This is so you can not edit your stats.

Third is your stats. Like above, this post will be made for you by a crew or myself.

Fourth is a log. This keeps track of what lessons you have completed and what training is done.

These four posts are required, and after that the rest of the posts are yours. Some users find it cool to use it as a personal roleplaying diary and some just like to use it for random information. But please, keep it to the guild. No uber random stuff. Take a look at the crews profiles for examples.

    Rules to follow:
•The topic of your form is your username, and NOTHING ELSE. Again taking the crew as an exception. Another exception will be explained further down.
•DO NOT post polls in your form.
•DO NOT bump your own form.
•DO NOT post messages or comments on anyones page.
•Editing your personal information is forbidden without asking.
•If you have the skills, your personal map may be updated by yourself.
•You may fill in your training log as it happens.
