what i got of ok computer was him telling a very true and very troubling explaination on the state of the human mind set in the new "faster, more convienient, more of everything" way of life which is also why it was compared to pink floyds "dark side of the moon".also i think we will see another incarnation of ok computer and possibly kid a if they stick together for the next 20 years.

This is gonna sound slightly off the wall, but my take was this. A guy finds himself in a car crash (Airbag) and ends up in a coma in hospital. It is then that the perils of modern life become more apparent (Fitter better). He falls asleep and dies (No Suprises). Thats what it means to me. I heart concept albums, its whatever you want it to be.

I can't find a concept.
I've listened to it hundreads of times.
I kinda see it as a hit against society
an attempt to better a life
but still sorta stuck behind the depression of reality, not in the kinda of mellow-dramatic way, but in the.. ugh... I still don't get why we should have to work 9-5 kind of way.

and kid a, I can'ttttttttt find an entire concept in that.
kinda like..
more depressed, but trying to get better songs.

I dunno, I can never pay attention when im listening to OK Computer, it makes me think too much.
and I can't listen to Kid A through lately.

amnesiac is the only album of theirs i've been able to REAALLY listen to lately (but lately I've had obsessions with many bands who aren't radiohead, so its kinda been a while since my minds let me have room to think about them).

Well I don't really care about lyrics when it comes to music. So why should I care about lyrical concepts.

And now that you remind me, We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank was ok. I got it about a month ago and I pretended I was a Pitchfork Media writer and gave it a rating of 7.7 out of 10. Then next thing you know this happens. I felt pround of myself when I read the reviews.

I really dislike Pitchforkmedia... They have some extremely, extremely biased/opinionated reviews that are extremely easy to disagree with. Not a fan.

I agree to an extent. I know that Pitchfork are biased on many bands. I know for sure they adore Radiohead, Franz Ferdinand(YCHISMB ******** sucked!!!), and Sufjan Stevens. There are probably tons more I can't think of right now.

But, there are plenty of times when Pitchfork actually doesn't bs the ratings. And it seems that Pitchfork are cleaning up their act a bit, they haven't been dishing out high scores so eagerly and when they do dish them out it, they give a good reason to.

But nowadays I really only go to Pitchfork to check out the news and upcoming release details. When they appoint BEST NEW MUSIC to something, I tend to find out if it's true. Thanks to them I found out about LCD Soundsystem and Panda Bear <3
