Do you believe in the curse of MacBeth?
I didn't before but after preforming Mmmbeth for the Sears play, and as Lady Mmmbeth, I certainly do now! lol.

I don't expressly go out of my way NOT to say it... but try to be at least a little bit wary.
We're trying to convince our director to let us do a production of that play next year...

I think a lot of the problems with Macbeth is that low-budget theatres perform it to make more money. The technical aspects can be dangerous if done unprofessionally, thus leading to injuries.

Nope. I was in MacB last summer, and the only weird thing that happened was that a few of our lights mysteriously broke during a rehearsal.

I myself don't believe, but I try not to say it out of respect for those who do.

When I was in MacB, ages back, nothing happened, but then it was only a shortened version so maybe thats why.....?

My question: Is a 3-person cast for Macbeth even possible? 2 other people and I want to do the play, but not many other people are interested.
????
(Or else we'll curse them all!)

I have seen a 6 person cast, but I'm not sure if any less is posible. You could try doing select scenes with three people

What we were thinking to do was cut it so that there would be no more than 3 or 4 people onstage at once, and then all play multiple characters... and represent different characters by wearing different coloured half-masks.
We're trying to cut it now.... and it's going decently, at least...

that actually sounds intresting, a little confusing to think of how it could work, but if you pull it off that would be quite an accomplishment.

I call it The Scottish Play, and do my best not to mention it around theaters. The history behind it is enough for me to entertain superstition ^_^

As for the Macbbb curse, I try not to say it in theatres, though I'm curious to see what happens when I see the RSC preform it in a few weeks. ^^;

I saw a MacB play earlier this year...about 7 actors, and it wasn't very good. Maybe that was their curse... confused

I was in just this one, random play at high school...and one day, we weren't doing too good. Everyone knew, our proformance SUCKED. There were a handful of mishaps including someone nearly starting to set the stage for the next scene while the scene before was in progress.
A friend of mine took to saying "Macbeth" repeatedly arround intermission, just so see how much worse he could make it.
Act 2 went off without a hitch.
Seems like the reverse of the supersition, dosen't it?

Encouragement NOT to say MacB****: One of the ways to remove the curse is to exit the theatre, close the door, face the door, spin around counterclockwise 7 times and say "Angels and Ministers of Grace Defend Us".
Why Hamlet lifts the curse, I have no idea.
I don't personally say it within the theatre, but I have no issue saying it outside it.
Of course, that depends on whether or not the group I'm with is superstitious or not.
