Powerful jaws held tight, wrapping around the neck of a baby gazelle who, by misfortunes and by sheer luck for the young rouge, had seemed to be abandoned and had been left helpless to fend for itself shortly after being born. It was a cruel world but Mpinduzi showed no sympathy for such a loss. Survival of the fittest was an old tactic and strategy and the crimson and black striped male had implimented such a code into his own lifestyle. A crushing bite to the neck as his right forepaw clenched over its muzzle and nostrils had brought the small creatures life to an end.

With blood oozing into his jaws and dribbling down his maw with a mix of saliva, 'Duzi chuckled as he rose up to his forepaws and carried his prize within his jaws. "Bloody hell, that was a sinche!"

When was the last time he had eatten something as decent as a young gazelle? That was something even he couldn't remember vaugely. But, nevertheless, he wouldn't have to worry about his hunger for a while. This would certainly be a meal that could get him by today and perhaps the next if he could stow it away somewhere away from the scavengers and other creatures that would delight in the discovery of an easy meal.

As his crimson orbs scanned about the open land for any other lions or equal competitiors who would dare try to take his prize from him, 'Duzi growled softly to himself as his mouth was wrapped around the neck of his meal.

"Betta' not have ta' fight ta' keep this meal again'," he muttered, rather pleased as the coast seemed relatively free of other lurking lions.

Not wanting to chance anything or bring a struck of bad luck upon himself, the rouge kicked up a quick trot and began heading towards the thick brush where shade was plentiful and the temperature was rather cool aside from the merciless beatings from the looming African sun.

Slinking into the cool shade that the trees provided, Duzi slumped onto his stomach and wasted no time in holding himself back. Tearing away at the stomach as blood spattered upon his face and maw, Duzi pinned his ears against his head and kept a fair warning snarl upon his maw.

If any creature was looking for an easy meal, this certainly was a lion that one would not want to tamper with.

White toed paws crept about as Nix was pretending she was being hunted herself. She often did this when she was bored, would imagine scenarios when lightning would crackle through the air and someone would be following her. Someone dark and mysterious that had eyes that glowed and always watched her. She smirked, jumped and did a half flip, she was agile, it made her happy to do random flips and rolls, her wings helped as well.

Flicking her white fluffed tail she peered around with bright blue eyes that seemed to glow. Blood and death was on the air, strange, she hadn't smelled it before. "A fresh kill more likely," she said with a bounce in her step as she pretended to dodge something above her.

Though something caught her eye.

"Oohh..." she crouched down, stomach almost touching the ground. She appeared to slither around trying to get closer to a dark figure up ahead where the blood was thick in the air. He white 'mane' tuft was gently pushed by the wind as she watched the other from the security of a bush.

He has awesome hair... she mused, he was muscular too, made her shiver, almost spark herself too, but she had to keep that inside. But what to do? Show herself as a goddess? Or try an allusion to get closer...

Choices choices.

The once full and appealing carcass has quickly turned into a bloody mess and assortment of bones, innards that were in shreds. The taste of the raw, warm meat was tantlizing upon his tounge and he didn't exactly have many manners to uphold a sense of dignity when eating. He was a rogue who was, to say the least, grateful and blessed to have ever stumbled across such luck as to find a perfect meal. As he slammed his right forepaw into its flank 'Duzi clenched his claws as his maw took hold of a strip of meat.

As it tore away from the bones and cartalidge, the ears of the male suddenly perked upwars, shoulders rising up as his crimson orbs darted towards the side. "There's a bloke or someone out there," he muttered, tail twitching behind him as a low, audible growl sounded from his throat and depths of his chest.

A snarl kept itself tucked at the corner of his maw as he rose up onto his paws. Blood dribbled down from his nose and towards his chin although his deep crimson coloring of his fur seemed to mask it quite well. He knew that there was someone about but where?

Where were they?

A breeze whisped against his mane, ruffling its tattered edges about as he took several steps forward rather intriuged and curious as tho who or what exactly was lurking nearby.

"No use hidin' yourself, mate," he called out in a his typical gruff tone although, this time, he was trying to make it seem more friendly but he had his doubts. "Either bloody show yourself or pray I don't havfta come find ya."

He's a smart one... She mused as she smirked to himself. The remains of his meal looked rather...appetizing, though she knew better then to take his kill and fly off, as good as that sounded. But perhaps she could get a nibble of that red chunk of meat before she would probably have to pass on. She was after all still on the path to trying to find her sister.

"Pray you shouldn't come find me?" she asked in a mock 'damsel in distress' tone, she stepped out from the cover of the brush and smirked in his direction. No use for an allusion now, "Hmm, well, it looks like you don't have to search for me while I just stand here in the open..."

She flicked her tail, pulled her wings close to her back, yes, this would be interesting. He was a rebel, ooo she loved these types! They were so macho and thought they were all that, yes, would be truly interesting, "Something crimson drew me here...." she was going to say his name, but of course, she didn't know it.

This would be fun.

Furrowing his brows as he drifted off although keeping a fair distance between himself and his kill, Mipinduzi rolled his eyes and began to pivot back towards his meal until a voice rang out. But not just any voice, a females voice. Glancing back, 'Duzi's crimson eyes narrowed towars the brush where a lioness- no. Taking several steps forwards, 'Duzi tilted his head slightly towards the side. She was no lioness; she was, indeed, a goddess.

He had heard the stories of the gods and goddess's of Africa- controling domains and holding great powers such as strength, war, conflict and unity. Yes, 'Duzi had heard of them and to those he knew of, he held them with due respect but those who could influence him in the areas of strength, defiance and rebellion were those of whom he would, one day, like to make an acquaintance of. If only he could ask them questions, if he could look for their insight and ask for their guidance. But why would a god or goddess want to help him?

It was true he was a rebel but, on the contrary, 'Duzi never thought himself of being "all that" or thinking he was invincible. Of course he fought, had a nasty temper and was stubborn, but he could bleed and become wounded and even killed just like any other lion or creature who called the open lands "home". The crimson and black could seem ruthless but, most of the times, he only did what he needed to do in order to survive.

But what would a goddess think of him as?

A simple rogue?

Perhaps.

'Duzi didn't expect her to think much of him.

Shaking his head slightly as his tapered, jet black mane swayed about, the rogue grinned. "Name's 'Duzi," he greeted, willingly giving his name whether she was inquiring of it or not. "And which goddess's aquaintance am I to make?"

"Duzi...interesting name..." she said, letting his name roll off her tongue in almost a purr. She smirked at him, saw his grin, watched him move, so tempting, why was he tempting her? Wait, did he know he was tempting her? Hmm...what would her sister say right about now?

She could think of a few words...rather names though...

"I'm Nix'Annada, goddess of lightning," she felt the surge in her forearms and let the sparks free. Sparks of lightning encircled her forearms in a spiral, and then disappeared into the heated air. "Call me Nix though please, so much shorter..." she said with a smile, this one was sinecere, though he still tempted her so.

She just loved his black mane...she had a thing for manes of males, and his eyes were so wild and enticing, she flicked her tail, peered towards his meal. If she had the right mind she would stroll over, pick it up and fly away, though she thought that wouldn't really be the proper thing to do, not at all.

"Traveling Duzi?" a simple question, but at least she could find ways to keep him talking.

His ears flickered while his tail swayed behind him, brushing back and forth as he made himself confortable upon his haunches. A small smirk kept tucked at the corner of his maw as his mysterious and curious crimson eyes settled upon her. "Nix," he repeated, liking the sound of her name and the smooth rolling off of his tounge, "it's an honor ta' be in the presence of a goddess. I haven't met one of your kind before but there's a first for everything."

The sparks that encircled her paws and forearms seemed to catch his attention; eyes lured towards them as his maw seemed to open up minutely in awe. Other than her domain of lightning, there was something about here that seemed to definately appeal to his interest but he kept that suttle.

"I wouldn't say travelin'," he chuckled, his strange accent coming out strong and thick. "I'd say moreso just leggin' it wherever and tryin' to stay one step ahead of life. A rebel's gotta do what he can and anythin' to stay kickin' in these parts."

Duzi silently continued to watch her but he couldn't help but let a grin take hold of his maw as he caught her peering over towars his kill. Aside from being cold, fiery and hot-headed, the rogue did have a heart. It just took him a while to warm up to anyone.

"Are you hungry, Marra? You know, there's more than enough ta' share and I've about had my fill." Inclining his head towards the small gazelle, Duzi smiled.

" 'elp youself."

"A rebel huh? Well then, thats interesting..." Nix said with a smirk. He appeared the rebel type all over, though he wasn't mean and disgruntled as most usually were, that was good, nice even. She didn't have to worry about him pouncing on her anytime soon...least she hoped not.

Marra? she tilted her head when he said it, having a confused look in her eyes. Did he just give her a pet name? Or was that something he called all females...strange, quite strange. Nix though didn't know everything in life, perhaps it was better if it stayed that way.

She peered towards his kill, then back at him, that was so nice of him, her stomach would appreciate it, "Are you sure?" she asked somewhat sheepishly, peering at the kill, padding over to it and looking at it, then him again, "You sure you don't want to have some more? I don't need much just haven't eaten in a little while...thats all."

She didn't want to steal his food...

He nodded, crimson eyes seeming to gaze upon her as he kept a smirk tucked within the corner of his maw as he curled his tail around him. There was something about Nix that made his curiosity seem to broaden.

Watching her facial expressions and her sudden confusion with his typical slang, Duzi couldn't help but grin.

"Forgive me, Nix," he said with a slight chuckle. "Its hard to break a bloke from his slang. Didn't mean to confuse you with "Marra". It means friend."

As she inquired about the kill, Mipinduzi smiled and nodded his head. "Of course I'm sure. Believe me, I've had my fill an' there's no sense in lettin' it go to waste." Rising up to his paws, the rogue padded around her in a cirlce and drifted towards the kill.

"Come on."

Nix smirked, flicked her tail, "Right then, Marra it is if you want, doesn't matter to me, it sounds pretty," Nix said with a nod. She wondered if she should call him marra, but she guessed marra was only for females. She wondered if he was one of those males that hit on every female he saw...but she doubted it, he didn't come onto her forcefully...though, some could hide it. It made her wonder, but it passed form her mind quickly.

"Kay..." she said playfully and padded behind him as he walked over to the kill. The scent of blood on the wind was intoxicating when she was this hungry, or perhaps it was a mix of hunger and emotion. When was the last time she spent this long in the presence of a fine male like Duzi? She couldn't quite remember.

As they got closer Nix closed the gap between her and the kill, she craned her neck down and slowly dragged her tongue over an area where Duzi had obviously been ripping at the flesh, "Mhmm..."

As she trailed behind him, Duzi swayed his bum and tail slightly as he glanced behind and gave a widespread grin upon his maw. "'Be honored if I can call you that, Nix."

Mipinduzi never forced his feelings upon any female as, truthfully, he often kept his emotions far from visible and tended to be conservative. It wasn't arrogancy or a pompus attitude, it was just because he tended to keep towards himself and focused on doing whatever necessary to survive and keep himself in shape to see another day.

Drifting to stand before the kill, Duzi knitted his brows as he slinked down to his stomach and gave a smirk.

"Cute," he commented as his tail flicked behind him while his right forepaw seemed to outstretch slightly and paw at her with a purr. "Oh the cleverness of you; temptin' me wit' your sly tactics. It's workin," he winked, drawing his tounge across part of the kill and sinking his fangs into the gazelle.

She smirked at him and said nothing and started nibbling off some of the tender meat. As it slid down her throat with the blood trickling over her tongue she felt like she could be relaxed and calm for once. She usually wasn't met with such kindness and understanding by mortals, too many just invaded her space, but Duzi was different it seemed.

Nix enjoyed the meat she was offered, and soon she had her fill, which wasn't much, she really didn't eat too much usually, but today she ate a bit more then she was used to. She smiled and cleaned the blood off from her white toes when she sliced a bit of the meat, when she was all clean she smiled and bowed her head to Duzi, a trait she picked up from being around her sister.

"Thank you so much Duzi, that was so wonderful..."

Finding it hard to simply nibble, Duzi drove his jaws to tear a satisfying chunk from the carcass and savored the flavor as well as the blood as he swallowed, the taste tantilizing and luscious. As blood dribbled lightly from his maw, Mipinduzi licked his nose and wiped his maw with his paw as he looked up towards the goddess.

"It was a pleasure, Marra," he commented, lowering his head in moreso of due respect to her and her higher rank.

Slinking back on his forepaws and stretching, Duzi chuckled softly as he sat himself back upon his haunches.

"What will you do now, Nix? Do you need to leg it someplace else or can you wander a bit longer here?"
PostPosted: Sun Mar 04, 2007 5:40 pm

Nix stretched her forelegs, a few sparks encircled them as she did so and she tried to suppress the surge she felt. She needed to release it soon, if it built up too much, it would release on its own, and the last thing she wanted was to shock anyone nearby to where she was. They would get a nasty shock and possibly a burn depending on how close.

Nix flicked her tail and thought, peered towards Duzi and smiled, "I have to find my sister, I'm not sure where she is, though I don't think she would mind if I stayed in this area a bit longer," Nix said with a wink.

It'd be nice to have some company for a while.

Duzi nodded his head, ears perking forward as he listened intently and smiled. "Ah, you've a sister? Well, I'd be more than 'appy to help you look for her but I might be lackin' in the aerial department," he replied, stepping forwards a bit as his tail swayed contently behind him.

"We could leg it all over the place and have a bit of fun too- make a row and have a bazzin' time. That is if you're up to it, Marra."
