eek BLAST TO THE PAST! WOAH THIS WAS SIX YEARS AGO! -LE GASP- eek

Age:6-7: I had always loved animals, they had always been my passion. I had a neighbor that rode, and she told me about it. Of course, I went pleading to my mother to find me a lesson, but she said she couldn't find anywhere that had lessons available. I was desperate, but after awhile I forgot about it.

Age: 10-11: I started fifth grade, and I met a new friend. She rode as well, and I remembered that I had wanted to awhile ago. She really wanted me to start riding too, so I asked my madre, again. She said yes, when she could find a stable. I was searching frantically for somewhere to take lessons, and in a community education flyer I got at school, they had an equestrian program listed. I asked my mother, and we signed up.

I waited for weeks for the date to finally come. I started horseback riding in a group of about 8 other kids. I was in love with it. I started out being led around on a really calm horse named Skip. He's such a sweetie. Anyway, I loved it more than anything else. We trotted, and did various basic exercises.

ninja GO TWO YEARS INTO THE FUTURE! ninja

Okay, sorry, but I didn't feel like writing about all the stuff we did.

wahmbulance I'm sorry I haven't updated this in awhile, I've been away and have forgotten. wahmbulance

3/17 - Yay, Saturday! The day of my lesson! I was excited, as usual, suffering from severe horse withdrawal as I usually do right before my lesson. Anyway, I went. Everyone was there except Jess, Ashley, Liz, and Sam.

I rode Ridle
(Name: Ridle
Gender: Gelding
Breed: Unknown
Color: Bay
Temperment: Okay on Ground, Doesn't like other horses
Issues: Lazy, Insensitive),

Suzie was going to ride Baintree, but she ended up riding Willie
(Name: Willie
Gender: Gelding
Breed: Unknown
Color: Chestnut
Temperment: Calm
Issues: Unknown (I've never ridden him but Suzie says he has a vendetta against her)).

Alyssa rode Tango
(Name: Tango
Gender: Mare
Breed: Arabian
Color: Gray
Temperment: Calm
Issues: Hard to begin to Canter, Lazy).

Dana rode David (I love him! 4laugh
Name: David
Gender: Gelding
Breed: Thoroughbred
Color: Chestnut
Temperment: Calm
Issues: none)

We worked on circles and they were a bit easy for me. At least we ended up cantering (besides Suzie because she ran into our instructor xp ) in circles and trotting a figure-eight. I found out that with a bit of persuading, Ridle is really a great horse. He isn't so lazy after all! I'm not quite sure why he acted so different during the summer though. Hopefully it's me improving! I knocked over one of the cones that was used to mark out the outside of our track. Suzie insists that Willie has a vendetta against her whee . Hopefully my mom will get to ask my instructor about another lesson because this 8-person-to-a-group thing is getting to be really irritating. I think I might e the most advanced rider that he has! Yay! Anyway, I'll update the horse profiles with things that I've learned and hopefully update again after next my lesson!

3/24- I rode Tango! <3
Name: Tango
Gender: Mare
Breed: Arabian
Color: Gray
Temperment: Calm
Issues: Hard to Canter, Lazy

I don't remember who everyone else rode. sweatdrop but my instructor said we were bad with our legs, so we had to put paper between our knees and the saddle. Everyone else ran into him, and dropped theirs a lot, but I mostly dropped mine checking to see if they were there. XD I didn't get to canter though... crying

3/31- Yay! It's that time of week again.... Saturday! So here's how my lesson went...

I rode Blue! (major love <3)
Name: Blue
Gender: Mare
Breed: Arabian Quarter Horse Cross
Color: Flea-bitten Gray
Temperment: Calm, can be slightly moody
Issues: Has Trouble Leg Yielding

Suzie was the only other person there and she rode Willie.
Name: Willie
Gender: Gelding
Breed: Unknown
Color: Chestnut
Temperment: Calm
Issues: Unknown (Suzie says that he has a vendetta against her)

We worked at the trot a lot, shortening and lengthening our horses strides. We were allowed to canter at the end, so Suzie and I were happy. heart

Whoa, I haven't updated in awhile. A few updates...

- I started a jumping lesson! biggrin
- I'm probably going to switch out of my old lesson, because I'm too advanced for it.

So, on to my lessons last week.

Wednesday:
I rode Ziggy, and we went out jumping in the fields. The setup was a small pipe jump, a turn to the left, then path slightly uphill, that lead to another jump with a small drop. Let's just say we had issues. xd We were supposed to trot to the jumps, and Ziggy would land in a canter after the first jump. It took me awhile to get him back down to a trot, and he would come back down to a slow trot. At this point, I tried to speed him up, but we were dangerously close to the jump (sometimes he would canter at this point, making matters worse). So, he didn't have enough power, and took a huge LEAP, catching me off guard, to say the least. gonk When we ended I had done it decently, but it took awhile.

Saturday:
I rode Justus, and he is amazing. He's one of my favorite horses. We worked on my elbows, I have a habit of keeping them down too far. xp I cantered him, and a few months ago when I cantered him, it was very difficult to get him down to a trot. Now, I just tighten my grip on the reins in the SLIGHTEST and he'll go back down to a trot. I think it must be a change in bit or something, because that's a dramatic change. cool Overall, it was a good lesson, and my elbows improved. whee
