Ansantaniel Forest

A dense forest home to many creatures. Many a time has an Oaxuian ventured into the forest to have a little fun. Sometimes, it can be dangerous. But some places are just right for little children to play. But be careful! You never know who could be lurking in the shadows. There have been spirits known to hide in the shadows, watching, waiting. So little children, do not stray too deep into the forest, or you could become lost forever.

The most dangerous bit of all is that the Crows have been known to lurk these woods, and the deeper you go, the more likely you will be to run into one, because deep in the Ansantaniel Forest is Kraai, the treetop home of the Crows.

Candince yawned and opened her eyes, finding that she had shifted in her position on the branch while she slept. She quickly lept down and began to wander deeper into the forest, perhaps to hunt down some food.
Sure, the forest was caleld 'Ansantaniel' - but she had never really bothered to memorize it. It's just what she called home. Dark and dangerous, it was just the way she liked it. Well.. it wasn't exactly dangerous to her - she was one of the things MAKING it such a dangerous place. Many light children would wander away into the forest. She loved to make games of scaring them out - as much of a horrible person as she was, she could never bring herself to kill a child for some reason.. just scare the s**t out of them so they stayed out of her fur.
The teenagers she didn't mind roughing up - they usually came here to either prove how tough they were to their friends, or have some forbidden love trist. Candince was sure some of them got away with it when she wasn't around, or in an area she didn't usually bother with.. but for the most part -she- was that thing all the lights told stories about.. because, well, in all the years of living in Ansantaniel, she'd never encountered anyone else who permanently stayed. She was very territorial, and noone tough enough had ever come to try and take her territory away.

Kynel barely stretched he felt exsposed when he did so. He kept niched within in his own idea of personal space. His shifty eyes glanced around rappidly all directions he could before getting dizzy, he slowl crawled from inside the rotten fallen tree. The small cave like-ness of it had served him as a comfrontable spot for his to rest without fear. For he was often a shy and rather gental with anyone or thing. Though he fully understood most will not show the same back. He made sure that he stayed int he more shallow and by his standards "safer" parts of the forest. Kynel let himself wonder from his fallen tree to find some water and hopefully some food.

The crow wheeled on the currents of air above of the Ansantaniel Forest before swooping decisively down into the treetops. That was when Leonardo finally let go of his more animalistic form. In just a few seconds Leonardo hit the ground as the true Crow that he was. He threw his snow-white hair into place and surveyed the forest with his deep, cerise-colored eyes before started to move around, searching for any sign of life, he really hoped he hadn't gone too deep into the forest to lose any hopes of encountering creatures of the light. So Leonardo started his wandering. One would have been suprised to know how seemingly light-footed he was with his heavy boots on, but he managed. One never wanted to scare the prey away. As a second thought he folded his wings, this was just before the Chorda came into sight. Leonardo pulled a wide, toothy, and malicious grin at the creature. "Are you lost, child?" He inquired in a velvet, undeviating voice as he approached the Chorda carefully. On a second thought full of malice he added, "Ooh, don't worry child, I'm not like other Crows you know. I'm nice." After making this comment Leonardo made an attempt to tone down the malignity in his smile. Not even a child would believe him if he had a pure look of hatred on his face.

Quickly, Candince happened upon the crow and the small child. Not close enough to be sensed, and just barely close enough to see, she pressed herself behind a thick trunk and barely peeked around it's girth.
She knew Crow's didn't care who they had their fun with - children included. But she also knew better than to stick up for a child to a crow.. especially this one. This was one particular dark she didn't want to lose what little respect they had for her. As in.. enough respect to barely tolerate her presence and not see her as a threat or something in the way.
She breathed softly and calmly, hoping dearly that the little thing would get away. She had a soft spot for children of any species - something she deeply hated about herself and tried not to show - though she would never want any of her own.. not that she was sure she could even *have* any what with being an experiment most of her life and born in a tube.
Her black and yellow eyes narrowed in on the two figures, and she stilled her thought process to just focus in on them. This way.. she would be less likely to do something irrational and stupid.

User Image Swooping into the area with ease, Valentine released his feral form, landing gracefully with his knees bent and his slender fingers just brushing the ground. Crimson eyes opened, a smirk plastered upon his lips- his senses had been right- his comrade was indeed here, along with an unfamiliar face... a Light child, no doubt.

"Having all the fun without me?" he crooned softly, moving over to circle the Chorda with a sweeping walk, wings stretching out a bit. "What's your name, kid?" he murred quietly, voice smooth and casual, "Haven't seen you around these parts, afterall..."

Running his slender fingers through his ebon hair, the Crow flashed a toothy grin, demure, but slightly animalistic at the same time- more of a warning than a threat to the poor Chorda.

User Image Aella had been hunting in the forests all morning and had just spotted a Cervuleons tracks in the dirt, she was trying out a new weapon today, she had saved a few silvers together and had got herself a bow, this could help her bring down flying creatures too, it was just getting used to it that was the problem. It wasnt a particulurly good Bow it was cheap but it did the job it was intended for. She managed to get a goad with it, but that was easy, so she was taking it for a test run in the forests.
She had got pretty cheap arrows too as the first lot just ended off getting lost in the unknown with her poor aim. But as it got better she might be more willing to spend for nicer arrows.
She stepped over logs and greasy rocks as she kept her eyes on the little hoofprints ahead of her. As she started into some thick ferns she heard voices not far off. She hoped it wasnt some other hunters also tracking the Cervu , she might be willing to fight to keep hunting this creature as where there was one cervuleon theres usually the whole pack. She tightened her grip on her bow as she readied an arrow just in case. To take a peek at who she could hear.
Through the ferns she saw two crows, the same two crows from a few weeks back, the same crows she had angered. She diddnt want to think about that, she really diddnt know what came over her, it must have been because of the bad hunt. As she focused in on what was going on she noticed what the two crows were so interested in.
A small Chorda child, now this was interesting, you hardly ever saw Chordas at all even more rarely thier children. She wanted to keep watching but she needed a better place to hide from them so she clambered as carefully and silently as she could up into a trees branches, she was quite far from the three but she could just hear what was bieng said.

Vyassa stormed through the forest, thoroughly frustrated. She had gotten no sleep whatsoever since she had killed the Katou—the organization had had an urgent set of assignments to complete last night. Her forehead creased when she felt a young, Light spirit very far away, a league or two east of where she was. There were also overtones of malice mixed in the air. Dark and Light were...'associating' there.
The fleet-footed assassin began to make her way toward the mire. She wasn't going to participate due to her dulled senses from lack of sleep, and she wasn't too keen on plucking dear life away from a child. After all, the longer the thing had lived, the more agonizing its death would be. A child didn't know how to appreciate life as much as someone who had experienced more of it. That was her philosophy, at least.

As Vyassa came closer, she felt the now-familiar presence of the two Crows she had met the preceding afternoon, as well as a dirtier presence of a Hazuiel. Vyassa passed an Anwen sitting in a tree as she came closer, scoffing at its apparent lack of experience in killing.

Vyassa scowled with a strong ferocity as she nimbly climbed up a tall tree. The three had quite an audience of Darks by now, all hidden. The Anwen made sure to conceal her presence completely the way only she could (she thought haughtily), but she watched the small Chorda with a gaze that emanated scornful pity.

User Image A soft, sly smile overcame Valentine's face, although it waned away as an odd sensation engulfed his bicep- pain. His lips contorted to an angry scowl as he whirled, scarlet eyes narrowing as he searched the treetops.

"That little wretch..." he growled inwardly, "She's somewhere nearby... but where?" The grayish skin, taught across his shoudler, burned slightly as a reminder of the light wound beneath the white wrappings.

Wings flicking slightly, a low snarl came from deep in his throat.

"Leonardo... I'm going to take a walk." he said, voice straining to stay calm, "I shall return in a minute to continue our... chat... with this little Chorda."

Stepping swiftly from his spot, the black loincloth at his waist slipped easily around his leg, allowing him to move effortlessly through the tall, slender trees in his way.

Candince scoffed from her tree branch as she sensed more people beginning to gather and watch the entertainment. A soft squeak escaped from her mouth, which was quickly covered by her hand, when she noticed Valentine coming in her direction.
But he had no reason to quarrel with her.. so she quickly relaxed. A grin passed over her face as she saw Aella scramble up into a nearby tree. He must be after her.. so even if he did begin to sense her, he probably wouldn't pay much attention and she could watch and get some amusement that she actually enjoyed.. rather than the horror show of the poor Chorda child.
With a huff, she snatched a small creature she didn't know the name of, but she often grabbed for quick snacks because they were plentiful in the trees.
She leaned against the tree's thick trunk, and bit off the head of the small creature and spit it aside. Their bones were quite soft aside from the skull, so she often just did this and then picked away at the body as she pleased.

Leonardo smiled wryly as Valentine greeted him and nodded. He was now eyeing his--probably Valentine's too now, prey. He glanced at Valentine in slight alarm as he saw the usually-calm Crow's face contort into an expression that seemed to be of pure anger. Leonardo shivered as he watched Valentine's searching eyes, why hadn't he noticed earlier? There were others here, hiding, watching... Leonardo silently cursed his senses as he felt around helplessly with his mind and eyes. He couldn't tell a thing. It was like playing a game of 'Where's Waldo' the size of a whole forest filled with junk. He glowered at Valentine as he went off for his little 'walk', but stayed where he was. He had to keep the entertainment in place after all. He couldn't let the adorable little Chorda run off. "Ooh, little child, why don't we play a game?" He whispered maliciously to the Chorda. "It will be lots of fun you know..." He smiled coldly at the child before turning his attention to the direction in which Valentine had gone off. "We could play hide and seek..." He proffered, absentmindedly. That would be a fun game to give the kid a good scare with.

User Image Aella leaned back agaist the tree in the branches watching the three and saw an assassin walk past who laughed at her, 'ah well, everyone had to start somewhere' thought Aella, plus she was an assassin, they thought of themselves so highly. Aella pulled a face at the idea of assassins. She was jelous of them, because she diddnt have the skills to make a good one, she was more heavy footed and not as nimble. But Aella had the makings of a good hunter she just needed practice, and this new weapon was proving difficult for her to master, it wasnt quite a knife.
She was stronger than an average anwen, but she diddnt have quite thier speed or stealth. She just needed more practice for now, she was quite good with a knife, but there were far more things you could hit with a bow.
She turned her attention back to the group to notice that one crow had vanished, the one she had scritched.
...Oh buggery thought Aella inwardly, she couldnt see him. But she could tell she had been sensed. She couldnt get down from the tree becasue she diddnt know where about he was. So she couldnt risk getting down, she wasnt about to put up a fight as she couldnt fight a crow, never mind two. Plus she admired crows stealthyness, perhaps flattery may get her somewhere she thought.

User Image Pausing his legnthy stride, Valentine mused quietly to himself, before gazing directly above himself, crimson eyes locking onto a still target. A cheap, crappy bow was slung over her back, which made the Crow stifle a rather rude snort of laughter- clearly an amateur at archery. He stood there a moment, almost admiring her audacity to merely watch a pair of Crows at play in the forest.

Flexing out his wings, the brute skillfully and silently climbed the tree she was perched in, a few branches below her. Eyes unmoving from his target, he silently adjusted his bracers, flipping his hair out of his face as he did so.

Appendages folded tightly to his back, the Crow flashed a malicious smirk, unseen from where the Anwen was perched. Stealthily moving forward, his jaw was just behind her ear before he spoke.

"Hello there." he whispered, voice low and smooth, "It's so very... nice of you to show up now, isn't it?" His voice turned to drip with acid and malice, eyes flashing a moment before his expression relaxed. "Then again... maybe it's just a coincidence? Well, how now... I do believe that there is no such thing as coincidence, only the illusion of such..."

Leonardo finally turned his attention away from the Chorda child with a huff and let out a loud bark of laughter as he spotted Valentine up in a tree harassing a familiar-looking Anwen. "Well now," He called, walking to the base of the tree they were both up in. "Making friends, eh Valentine?" Leonardo snorted before hoisting himself easily up to the branch everyone else was hanging on and leering in the Anwen's face. "I do believe we have a funclub, Valentine... or stalkers at the least. How nice." He looked furtively to his companion before almost motioning with his eyes to the rest of the surrounding forest. There were definitely others here; he could tell now and it was even freaking him out ever so slightly. Leonardo thoughtlessly shifted to a different branch due to the fact that the one he had been on before was just a teensy bit over-occupied. Leonardo smirked at the Anwen once again before looking thoughtfully at a few other trees that he had great suspicions in. The Crow drew his lanky form into a compact squatting position as he let his dark, blood-toned eyes wander. He brushed his mane of snow-white hair back with one hand as he eyes narrowed with the slightest anger. "What is that I smell?" He growled, now slightly caught up in his own little world as he scanned the branches of other nearby trees. He frowned with frustration as he came short, so instead he half-whispered: "Come out, come out, where ever you are..."

Candince let out a loud shriek and tumbled from her branch onto the forest floor. She was terrified of spiders, an unfortunate thing, and one had mananged to work it's way down infront of her on it's thread.
She nearly landed ontop of Leonardo as he was looking for whoever.. First Valentine, now him. She guessed she just had bad luck with, quite literally, bumping into these guys. Candince peered up at Leonardo, the blacks of her eyes hollow and dead, while the yellow areas were bright, lively, and curious.
"Quite sorry" she shrugged, "I honestly don't know what you are doing here - but I have every right. I live here! Have for years."
She scoffed and stood up, brushing herself off and re-adjusting her clothes while also double-checking that her piercings were okay.
