 "You're right. Its a horrible thing, but you have to admit...that kitty has guts. Isn't this place swarmed with guards anyhow?" Kurohoshi sighed. None of this made sense. "Well, today is the national day of love and mystery." He laughed a bit. "Sorry for my odd sense of humor"

She nodded. This kitty had guts. A lot of guts. Whoever it was.
"Yeah, I guess a large part of the guards are hidden aswell. I only saw a few when entering the mansion."
She grinned at his joke. "You could say that. In a way. This day will surely contain enough mystery, maybe a little too much. Now only the love is required to make this day complete" She played with her left ear in a short pause. "Hm. Was there actually any planning for this day?"

"I'm not too sure if I even saw any guards...for a rookie samurai i'm horrible at surveying my surroundings.." He sighed and looked at his feet. "I'm not too sure about the planning bit...you think empress flower would think more about the security of her guests..but ah well. It's not her fault." Looking up again he smiled "I think we've had enough mystery for the YEAR.. and it just started. We're still missing the love though..."

So he was a rookie samurai too. Her eyes glanced slightly at those words, smiling back to him.
"Yes, we still lack the love." She paused. "If we could only dance now..."
Liahlee wondered what would happen. She had come to dance, have a good time and probably play some tricks to the guests. Maybe even find a little romance inbetween, if she dared to be honest to herself. She just hoped that the masquerade wouldn't be cancelled. The words of her sensei resonated in her mind already, blaming her misschief once more with a correcting glare while a smile was kept secret.
"... it would be the beginning of this year's love."

She blinked, having hard to believe what he just said.
"You can't be serious", she uttered disappointed. "No music? None at all?"
A sad expression showed up. She had hoped to have music and dance. That is what a ball was for after all. Absently she played with her ear again.
"And... can we make music?", she asked slightly, a spark of hope rising in her voice and eyes.

Kurohoshi chuckled with mischief in his eyes. "I'm sure their instruments are still down stairs.. ever play a violin before?"

"Eeeer...", she started before she muttered the last between her teeth. "If you call a few ropes on a rusty piece of metal a violin..." her voiced raised in tone after that, with a big smile continuing. "But I'm used to make sounds on all different things. Pots, bamboo, fences, just everything that makes difference sounds."
She loved violin, but the only instrument she played was the harp. An elegant but hard instrument to play, one that required full concentration of the player to get the charming and soothing tones out of the many strings. And other than that, her sensei's voice often resonated trough the dojo if she used her kunai as drumstick to play on the gong, wall, tatame and everything that made sound.
"So... up for some music?", she grinned.

"Excellent!" He laughed a loud hearty laugh. "Because I've never played an instrument and I've always wanted to." He started to walk back down the hall. "Let's go! Maybe we can wake up this party again..."

"Alright!", she replied laughing.
Following him back down, she wondered what instrument she would play. If there was no harp, she'd pick something that could be used as drumstick.
"What instrument are you about to play?"

He laughed a bit. He was a bit giggly, and he didn't know why exactly. "I can see myself playing a cello." He hopped down each stair, landing with a thud on the bottom step. "I think.."

"Cello, huh? Hm. I think that would suit better with a violin than a harp."
She walked down the stairs, curious to see if there were any instruments left behind. Although impatient to decently look around in the room, she didn't rush. It wouldn't be appropriate behaviour in the Empress's house.
"But I can't play violin... I think. And I don't want to harm any kitty's ears."
