DOOR OF JUDGEMENT
[P.S. This has been one of the hardest riddles I've ever heard. I will write it by memory. If no one can solve it, after a while, I will probably write the answer. ^_^]
Awakening one morning, you find yourself in an empty, desolate room. There are two doors--- and what's odd, was that two men who's faces cannot be seen, stands in front of those doors. You notice that the doors are exactly alike, and judging by the outfit, the men looked similar too.
You attempt to ask them where you are, in which they replied, "It is your judgment that will determine the outcome. Where you are, does not matter." The two men stepped to the right of the door they were guarding, and glared at you straight in the eye.
The man on the left started, "One of these doors will lead you to safety--- the door of Light. The other leads to the depths of hell--- the door of Abyss. You are only allow to go through one door--- and that choice will be all yours. However, you do have an option before you make your grand decision--- you can ask ONE of us, ONE question. The question must be a "yes" and "no" question. Hopefully, this one question will support you in the way to find the door you desired to open." After a sudden pause, the man on the right continues on the riddle.
"It is a misfortune, that one of us sins, and one of us is pure. To extend the statement--- one of us will answer honestly to your question--- and one of us, will only respond with a lie to your question. Who is the liar? Who is the honest one? That, we cannot say... Choose your question wisely..."
You're faced with the situation--- two doors. One leading to death. One leading you to safety. Which one is the door of Light? Which one is the door of Abyss? Which one of the men is the liar? Which one of the men is the honest one? These questions, you will not need to answer.
[P.S. They are both telling the truth about the riddle. But when you ask them your one question that will determine your fate, one of them is the liar.]
---------- To put it simply:
You are to choose one door out of the two. One leads to death, one leads to safety. There are two men guarding each door. You are only allowed to ask one of them a "Yes" and "No" question. However, to twist it around, one of them is a liar--- one of them is honest. So simply asking, "Is your door the door to safety?" will not work, for the man you're asking might be the liar.
---------- Riddle question:
What question could you possibly ask, that guarantees you 100% to safety? [or in other words, what question will you ask that will give you the knowledge of which door leads to death, and which door leads to safety?]
