Name: Matsumushi Hiro
Age: 16
Family: Mother and father both deceased, it's believed he has an older sister, but he never met her.
Past: Hiro's parents were slaughtered by a band of brigands when he was a child, leaving him to fend for himself. With nothing left but the clothes on his back, his mother's crimson armband and his father's double-bladed katana Souba, he fled his home and fended for himself for several years. He taught himself how to use his father's weapon, and became a deadly blade to blade fighter. His training was observed by a group of assassins known as the Dark Brotherhood, and he was offered an opportunity to join them. They said they would treat him like a family, thus Hiro eagerly accepted. He quickly rose through the ranks of the cult, his sword techniques were near unstoppable. He was dubbed with the name Darkfire. When Hiro was 12 years old, he was given an assignment which he could not complete. It wasn't a matter of his skills, it was a matter of who it was he was assassinating. His targets were a mother and father, with a young son and daughter. His conscience told him that if he were to go through with this, he'd be doing what the brigands did to his family. Thus, Hiro resigned from the Dark Brotherhood, his conscience too guilty to continue. The head of the cult, known only as Hayao, warned Hiro that "there is no escaping the darkness", but Hiro merely pushed the thought out of his mind. He wandered for a year, trying to find a place to live where he would be accepted. He stumbled upon the Village Hidden in the Mist, which welcomed him with open arms. He met many people there who seemed to care for him, which had never happened to him before. His "family" rarely spoke to him unless it involved an assignment. He has stayed with the village since, but his dark past often keeps him up at night. Hiro seeks to become a ninja, and to protect people rather than harm them. Only then will he redeem what he has done.
Physical Description: Hiro is somewhat short, only 5'6" tall. His hair is shoulder length and a dark black color, and covers his darker eyes. He wears a simple martial arts uniform that were given to him by the Brotherhood, which are solid black as well. A necklace with a silver chain holding a crimson heart-shaped jewel dangles from his neck, his father's katana is tied to his right hip. When revealed, his eyes are filled with sorrow and vengeance.
Personality: Hiro seems cold and unkind, which he often is to those he doesn't know. He is silent most of the time, only speaking when spoken to, or if he sees the need to do so. With friends, he is a kind soul, willing to sacrifice himself for their well being. He often prefers to be on his own, though he is a strong leader and tactician.
Fighting style: Hiro trained himself to use his twin bladed katana with deadly results, seldom has a target lived through one of his blade's assaults. He recently learned how to tap into his chakra, adding devastating elemental effects to his blade. Though he has yet to master these techniques, they get stronger every time he uses them.
Kekkei Genkai: Hiro recently unlocked the power to his family's bloodline trait, possibly on accident. When he is able to use this power, he calls upon the spirits of his fallen family and friends to aid him in battle. They become solid, as if they were still alive. As with his other techniques, Hiro has not mastered this ability, nor does he entirely know how to use it, as it only happened once by coincidence.
Jutsu list:
Hellfire: Hiro immolates his sword, making his already deadly sword skills even more devastating.
Earthrender: Slamming his blade into the ground, Hiro alters the ground around himself or his enemy.
Veil of Darkness: When in the shadows, Hiro can fall into the darkness, making him nearly invisible to the naked eye.
Wrath of Heaven: Under open skies, Hiro summons a bolt of electricity to strike his foe.
Side notations: Hiro is ambidextrous, he uses both hands equally well in a fight. Though he prefers fighting with his left hand, he can use his right with just as much strength.
(I have no artistic talent to speak of, so a drawing of Hiro is unavailable. Eventually my avatar here will resemble him, however...bear with me.)
