A lot of us are readers. So: Where do you read? Where do you like to read--what sort of places do you seek out?

i like sitting on my bed to read for some reason, or curled up in my big round chair, though i do have to kick my little friends out of that if i want to sit in it whee i trully wish i had a garden, it's lovely to sit under a shady tree and read outside, unless the tree is feeling malicious and keeps dropping twigs on your head. you DO have prefered reading spots though don't you? Strange as it may seem, somewhere in a patch of sun is always what i want, can't have it though unfortunately, the only room in my flat that gets direct sunlight for any amount of time is the downstairs loo rolleyes

Generally I read in my room, lying on my bed propped up by a couple pillows. The only time I read sitting up is in the car or at school. If I have the time or the inclination, I go sit on the bench outside, but it's super uncomfortable, and pokes into my skin (the most useless bench ever, right?). So, yeah. I generally read in my room, because I can read without being disturbed (usually), and I can listen to music as well. I can't do anything when it's quiet, I have the hardest time ever concentrating.

when the weather's nice i got out and read on a rock outcrop that overlooks our lake.
when it's like it has been lately, i curl up in a recliner by the fire and read.

I can't read lying down because it makes my arms and neck ache, and if I'm propped up on my front my elbows start getting sore. sweatdrop Mostly I read curled up on the sofa in front of the TV. It's easy to ignore distractions because all the television is so crap anyway. lol I've tried reading outside under a tree in the summer, but I always find I don't have enough back support and end up sliding sideways. And the bark scratches up your back and neck and you end up with green stuff on your clothes and hair. In other words, reading under trees is overrated. mad d

Ususally I read in bed before I go to sleep. Or in math class. >.> I read quite a lot in school actually. I tend to get my work done quickly and take out a book. 3nodding

I read almost anywhere.
One of my favorite places to read is propped up in bed--I use several pillows and it is quite comfortable.
I also have a favorite spot under a tree near the bay.
Outside can be a bit of a problem, since there are, you know, bugs and things, but we've a nice porch swing & also a lovely little backyard oasis that I enjoy when the weather is right.

I usually read propped up in bed too. It's just so comfy, especially in the winter. I kind of want to make a comfy spot up in the loft for reading though. I think that would be cozy and quiet. It would be difficult to get furniture up there though. Maybe I can get a beanbag. smile

A beanbag would be great 3nodding . And, you could set up a nice light & maybe a plug-in teapot so you can sip hot tea while you read.

I have the most awesome beanbag chair ever for reading, and this awesome lamp that turns on by touch. So, I put them up in my vaugely large walk-in closet, and read to my hearts content. The best stories ever have been transferred into my mind inside that closet.

The Vorpal Tom I have the most awesome beanbag chair ever for reading, and this awesome lamp that turns on by touch. So, I put them up in my vaugely large walk-in closet, and read to my hearts content. The best stories ever have been transferred into my mind inside that closet. Sounds like a perfect place to read! One of my least-favorite places to read is in line at the DMV. Of course, that is more because I do not like waiting in line at the DMV than because of the books. They are what make the wait bearable.

I prefer video games for lines. Or music.
Yay for DS puzzle games!
