Yes, the title sucks, help thinking of a better one would be much appreciated.
They said she'd never get here. They'd all told her frankly she'd fail, she'd either drop out or she'd die trying, they'd make sure of that. Well, she proved them wrong hadn't she? She'd made it into the academy...but things had gotten worse from there. No one could believe she'd gotten in fairly, and she'd been shunned by all of the boys and most of the teachers for that matter.
Being alone hadn't been so hard, oh no, not by a long shot. It was how everyone in the entire academy had gone out of their way to make her life hell. Stuff was repededly written on her door, in permenent marker. They used to break in and tear her room up too but she finnally figured out how to put an end to THAT.
Paper wads struck her in the back of the head during class, visious rumors were loudly discussed within her hearing, sometimes she was amazed that boys had thought of this, girls struck her as more hateful.
She sank into the dark corner of her room, hugging her knees tightly, her mask of toughness fading away. One day she'd show them; oh god she'd show them. She'd kick their sorry asses until they begged for mercy but she wouldn't give it to them.
Loud talking and laugher echoed in the hall outside. She caught the words "Suduced her superiors....girls ain't that good....stupid slut...." before they faded away as their owners left.
If they realized just how much they were tearing her up inside she knew the attacks would double so she hid behind a mask of uncaring. Sarcasim and a sharp tounge with an attitude to mach it became her shields...her protectors.
There was a tentitive knock at the door, startling her. "What do you a** holes want NOW" she demanded, standing up and walking over to the lightswitch, snapping on the lights.
She threw open the door and another girl she'd never seen before was standing there, her hand raised to knock again.
"Are you Seshtah Tamm?" "I might be, why?" The other girl hesitated then said, "My name's Rain, I just made it into the Academy and they sent me down here."
Oh, so they don't want to give up another room to a 'useless girl' eh? she thought bitterly, "So they want you to share a room with me?" she asked, looking Rain up and down.
Rain shook her head, "No, they told me the room next to yours was open but I didn't know which-" "Both are empty, you had to bother me to find out when you could have just opened the door? If there had been someone in the room they would have yelled."
Sesh didn't know why she was being so hostile, the girl was new. It was probably because she needed to vent her frustration at all the ******** unfairness of her situiation more often....
Her gaze softened a little, as Rain turned to go to one of the rooms"Sorry I snapped at you, the boys here think a girl can't shoot a gun or do whatever drills a boy can and they seem to think harrassing me is going to get me to leave. It won't, it just makes me more determined but I snap people's heads off easily. They'll probably do it to you too so if it looks like you're gonna get in a fight, tell me and I'll help you kick their a**."

Rain grinned, "I might make you keep that promise." she said, Sesh shrugged, "Later" she said, going back inside her room and shutting her door.
It felt wierd to have another girl in the academy. God, when was the last time she'd seen another girl? The answer came to her and she nearly winced, it had been two years, maybe three. She'd last seen her mother and the students didn't leave the campus much...no scratch that, they never left campus making it nearly immpossible to see someone from the outside world.
Her gaze wandered along the walls of her room, finally landing idily on the mirror she suspected had been added as an insult. Her reflexion stared back at her, pale skin that refused to tan or noticibly burn in sunlight, framed by short black hair that barley reached past her ears. Under long bangs, amber eyes burned with determination to prove that she was as good as any male.
She was in partial uniform, she wore her blue pants, tucked into the worn black boots like they were supposed to, but wore only the black shirt that went under the assigned jacket they were to wear at all times outside of their rooms.
Then she allowed her mask to fall away again. Her eyes lost most of their fire and she looked considerably more depressed. She shook her head, reflexion copying her movments exactly as it always did.
Why had she allowed herself to do this again? Why had she purposly gone the hard way, taking a path she had KNOWN would do everything in its power to break her, to gobble her up then spit her out?
...because she wanted revenge. Even thinking the word made her shudder, a tingling sensation going down her spine. Almost three years ago two countries had declared war on the other, and her village had been one of the first to fall.
The last thing she had seen was her home bursting into flames and her mother's hair blazing as she screamed but was trapped inside. The house had collapsed and as far as Sesh knew, she was the only one to escape.
The war was still going on, and she was going to pay back the nation that had stolen everything from her. So she put up wioth all the crap that was thrown her way. That one word keeping her calm through so much chaos.

Feeling suddenly drained, Sesh made sure her door was locked so the other boys wouldn't get any ideas, then collapsed on her bed, kicking off her boots but not bothering with anything else. She thought ahead to set an alarm so she would wake up in time for dinner before falling asleep.
She was alone amung a mass of dead bodies lying in no perticular fashion, some slumped over each other, others looked like they'd tried to crawl away.
The sky above was red as was the setting sun, it's burning gaze staring accusingly at the bloodied bodies. Men, women even children lay in piles, their faces torn away and their limbs mangaled.
Sesh knew she was crying and she stumbled amung them, trying to find someone, anyone who'd survived this senceless masicure. The smell was horrible, decaying flesh and the coppery scent of blood filled the air, nausating her.
She stumbled over an arm and realized with a jolt, as she looked at the owner, she'd stumbled over her own body.
Sesh awoke with a start, soaked in sweat and shaking from the vivid dream. With the exception of her own body, she'd been in that place before.
The armies had somehow gotten ahead of her and there had been a major battle near a city. The entire city had been massicured afterwards and she, Sesh, had stumbled upon the wreckage.
That was all war brought, death and destruction but it only made Sesh more detremined to make them pay for what they had done, and these assholes who thought they were better because they were male were NOT going to stop her.

The alarm began to beep, alerting her of the time as she lay staring at the celing and she turned it off. With a long sigh, she pulled her boots back on, pulled on the rest of her uniform and unlocked the door, easily catching the bucket that tried to fall on her and dump its contents all ofver her uniform as she opened it.
This one was Tom's handiwork and she dump the bucket's contents all over his door, carefully cleaning her fingerprints off of it.. A similar trap was attached to Rain's door and she dismantled that one as well, leaving it by the door so the other girl would know what had almost happened.
Sometimes she wondered why the boys even tried, as she lazily ducked a spitwad that shot at her as she opened the Mess Hall. She pretended not to notice that the amount of food on her tray was a little less than the boy's got but she said nothing, going to one of the empty tables in the back corner, insuring she'd be able to see any spit-wads coming.
A tray hitting the table caused her to look up in astonishment, but it was just Rain, with a wad of wet paper stuck in her hair. Wordlessly, Sesh pulled it out and threw it at a passing boy, who was probably the culprate.
"Is it always this bad?" she asked but Sesh shook her head, "Nah, they're being unusally nice today, there's probably someone important who values equal opertunities here today. Did anyone try to trip you on the way over here?"it was Rain's turn to shake her head, "As I said, they're being nice."
