I was wondering if any of you could help me with something- I absolutely cannot trill an 'R' in the front of my mouth. I can do a German/French, throaty trilled 'R' without a problem, but for the life of me, I can't seem to trill an 'R' in the front of my mouth a la Spanish or Italian.
Do any of you have any tips? Any idea of how to remedy this?

You are not alone. Most people that did not grow up with that sound can't seem to master it very easily, and even many people that did grow up with it can't get it. I personally have to do it to the side a bit, but I can't possibly explain this online, sorry. :/

OK, here's what you do. Put your tounge on the tip of your tooth. Then, quickly vibrate your tounge so that it'll hit your teeth, creating a rolled R.

the backwards trill(Norwegian, Icelandic,) is easier than the one at the front of the mouth(Spanish, Italian, Russian)

Say the word "butter." Repeat it and try to not alter it. You know that "tt" sound in the middle? That's the alveolar flap, just one step a way from the alveolar trill. Relax your tongue a bit and either keep it in the same place or move it a bit forward and breathe out through your mouth.
You'll get it eventually.

Lightning X OK, here's what you do. Put your tounge on the tip of your tooth. Then, quickly vibrate your tounge so that it'll hit your teeth, creating a rolled R. In my experience it has nothing to do with movement of the tongue at all; it's movement of the air by the tongue. Rather like a "raspberry."

Is it possible for one's tongue to forget how to do it? Because I find that in recent years, it's been getting harder and harder for me to do it. Right now, for example, I can't possibly get it right. O.o My mum says it's a lazy R. Many people have it, in fact. I just never noticed it with me before.

Don't worry-I've studied Indonesian for over 9 years, and I've only been able to pass off rolling my 'r' in the last three, and I've only been able to do it really well in the last seven weeks!
I find that practicing words with the letter r in the middle of the word helps.

I've always found it funny how, since I grew up in Puerto Rico, tongue rolling is absolutely nothing for me, and it just boggles my mind when I find people that can't do it o_o I know obviously those who haven't been around it or had to use it may not know how to pronounce/(accomplish?) it right, and I'm not trying to look down on anyone who can't do it or anything, I just think it's really interesting, how everyday stuff that comes second nature to some can be so foreign to other's~
That said, I have no idea how to describe the basic's of R trilling xD; Like people have already mentioned before, put the tip of your tongue right where your gums meet your teeth, flatten out the back of your tongue so the air is forced to go out the tip, and..blow? xD;

Except that it should be mentioned that "butter" be pronounced the American English way. In BrE, it's not a flap but a plosive. *Shows off with newly gained knowledge* stressed
