Frinch

User Image

Small, monkey like creatures, the Frinch are a shy, timid breed of creature that enjoy nothing more than playing in the treetops. Though a peaceful creature, the Frinch can be mischievous, often playing with travelers. They like playing hide and seek, and hide the items, which can get on an inpatient travelers nerves depending on the item taken. Being so small and easy to catch they often become food for other creatures or a traveler who is a good shot.

Num

User Image

These small cat like creatures are a real favorite when it comes to the kids and house hold pets. Being no bigger than an actual cat, Num’s have learned how to walk upright and talk the common language in their never ending want to mimic other creatures. Males tend to have a mane that incases the head while females are sleeker and are lacking this mane. Num’s are often sought after as pets, since they make such wonderful family creatures and because of their ability to speak common they are great babysitters for the children. They have a fondness for telling stories and playing around which can sometime lead to their use in plays and performances. They will sometimes travel with Bards or Performers, just for the sake of travel and to play. They also develop an attachment to a person after a while, which could lead to a Num following a traveler wherever he or she goes.

Vegas

User Image

Vegas are huge turtle like creatures that have been rumored to live for a thousand years, though it has never been proven. Living in the oceans of Joura, they have been found to stay submerged for days, letting their large rocky shells stay above the surface. Because of these actions they have been mistaken for islands, much to the dismay of the poor souls who seek safety on the shells. While they are quick in the water, they are slower on land due to the shear weight of the Vegas’ body on its legs. They are not known for violence, preferring to retreat as fast as possible to the waters where they can escape with ease.

Wadifah

User Image

Looking like a mix between a deer and a dog, these are elusive creatures with a knack for being able to escape traps and people. Their fur coloring ranges from and fox orange to a deep brown, and all the pelts have spotted designs on them. Both male and female Wadifah grow a set of antlers, which are sought after for making weapons and other ornaments. With skinny legs these creatures are fast runners, often traveling in family groups of no bigger than four. They have yet to be tamed and people have about given up on trying. They are purely wild creatures, often used for Game Hunting as well as food for travelers. There are a few places left in Joura where they are trying to tame Wadifah, though they haven’t gotten very far.

Yang

User Image

A cousin to the great Gryphons, Yang’s are only about the size of a medium sized dog. While they lack the eagle wings and fore claws, they still possess the likeness of an eagles head giving it the sharp screech of an eagle as a form of defense. The long tail has the appearance of a feather, though that is just an illusion created to fool a creature into thinking it is a baby Gryphon and not a Yang. This is the Yang’s second form of defense before resorting to fighting. They will try to frighten you off, but if that doesn’t work they possess very sharp claws on both their fore and back legs, making them difficult to catch or get near.

Unicorn

User Image

With a coat as white as the purest snowfall, the Unicorn is probably the rarest creature known to Joura. These creatures are so rare that it is not known how many still populate the world of Joura, all that’s known is that they only seem to be seen at night and usually by females. While there have been reports of men seeing a unicorn, they are few and far between and the man is usually is extremely good in nature and soul. The horn that grows in the center of the Unicorns head is a very, very rare item to have. So rare in fact that it is considered illegal to have them and it is punishable by imprisonment unless it’s proven that you killed the Unicorn, and then the punishment is death. The horns come in two kinds, that we know of, one is the twisted horn, and the solid horn, which is smooth. Unicorns are said to have deep blue, violet, brown, or fiery gold eyes, which are beautiful to behold on its own.
