I finally finished a piece of Kim and my Gaia Avatar. It took me two nights to complete, but I did it. You can see the pic here.




I think I'm going to try to complete one image per month. Hopefully that will not burn me out as much as last time.

My art lessons page is alittle outdated by now but it does explain how I generally go about an image. I've learned alot over the past few years so added to my skills. Part of what I do now involves alot of Dodge and Burn tools as well as some basic tricks from the lessons page. Kim actually taught me a few tricks that have made things easier for me when it comes to my art.

I am considering selling Avatar art on Gaia, but still thinking of how to go about it. Someone mentioned charging for 4 envelopes or something like that. Considering I usually spend weeks on a piece and only spent two days on this one it would all depend on what I'm planning. I do want to work on something new each month to get back into the art mode so this might just be the right thing to do that.

Anyways, If I do anything it won't be until next month. Well, I'm glad you liked the piece.

The only problem being is I'm such a picky artist that I'm not even happy with that last peice. I'm used to spending alot more time on a peice. I mean the one I did a few months ago looks a hell of alot better then this one.

I can understand how an amature like myself might scrutinize over things not being quite right, but only because There Not!, but yours are so good that it seems like you would be more then happy with everything you crack out

And yeah, a visual of the creating process might shead some light on exactly how its done

She loves all critters. She created the word "Fluffies" to include every critter in the world. Be it furry, feathered, scally or slimy she loves them. Her goal in life and on Gaia is to own them all. She can't in real life so is settling with Gaia critters, for now.

The reason I scrutinize over every little details is because I'm always trying to outdo my last piece. Making something more impressive then before. Striving to make the best piece that I can. After completing Angelic Kris and a few others I felt like I should be able to do so much more. Then I had a mental collapse and stopped drawing entirely. My lastest works just don't compare to what I did a few years back. That is why I keep nitpicking my own works. *sighs* Oh well, atleast I still have writing.

I love the Hatter and people consider me quite mad at times, plus I write about worlds on the other side of mirrors, darker and more deranged worlds then Alice entered, but still. I want a Hatter's hat for my avatar but can't find one so I added the card to my hat anyways. Just like I added in my coffee mug that I used to hold, which has tea in it. I wish you could hold a water meat and a mug at the same time. *sighs*

Anyways, Sorry to ramble. Glad you liked the piece.

Its okay, i like the color, but the actual outline needs some work, so you might want to work on that.. but the color is still good! I dont have anything to color my art with crying

I'm not sure what you mean by that. If you are talking about the black ink lines, then well, that is just my style. I ended up finding I like that look better over the past 10 years. The lines are a tad thinner when resized for the computer mind you. I usually create the image at 12 x 18 inches and 300 Dpi so it is ready for print and then rescale it for posting online. The quality is reduced a lot during the process, more so if your monitor is set differently then mine is. Even though I don't make many prints any longer I like to keep them high grade so I can sell them in the future.

FireScare - I heard about the hats along time ago. Made me like the term "As Mad as a Hatter." All the more for some crazy reason.
