Depends, what value will you be in a firefight? are you capable of defusing a bomb in under 4 seconds? do you have a steady supply of caffiene that I may or may not mooch off of? does your place of living have a room of the bath in which I may preform my 'dutys'?
On a slightly more serious note, who asks people to be there friends? it seems so...off. One cannot just instantly 'befriend' another person, friendship is something that happens when two people whom admire each other in a multitude of ways get to know each other and grow close, that is friendship. Or at least a very poor definition of it anyway.
