The Heavenly Guard's civil branch, the Court, is composed of intellectuals and artists. This is not to say that the Defender branch does not possess individuals of these types, they are simply specialized and essential here. The Court possesses leaders in many fields, such as music (Bards), art (Pictomancers), dancing (Dancers), religion (White Mages, White Wizards, and Devouts), academia (Sages, Scholars) and technology (Alchemists, Cannoneers, Chemists and Engineers). As such, these are all people who have a high degree of intelligence in their fields, as well as in general.
