I've always wondered this, but where did the whole "Black people love fried chicken and watermelon" thing originate, regardless of whether it's true or not.

I have never heard that before but i'm thinking the whole fried chicken thing comes from the south. They eat alot of it down there(right?) and I guess blacks are quite fond of it.
I'm just guessing though.

I like it but I doubt it's because I'm Black. It's just one of those things like all Hispanic people eat beans and rice or all British people drink tea and eat scones.

Well, I'm pretty sure a majority of Hispanics do eat rice and beans. o.o
I tried googling it and got a bunch of recipes for fried chicken. gonk

Ok. I believe it is a common racial stereotype that black people like fried chicken and watermelon. It's pretty stupid cause generally many people like fried chicken and watermelon. But when I was a kid, it was my favorite fruit and I always favored KFC over McDonalds so i think its give-or-take for each individual black person. I had a friend who absolutely hated watermelon but loved Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. I guess that whole black person food thing is partially true and partially not.
