Alright, this is pointless, but I need to vent...again.
I'm changing halls because the people across the hall from me are, for no reason whatsoever besides my appearance (apparently the color black offends them), obsessed with hating me. I've never even spoken to them except once when I asked one of them why she was screaming "f*cking bitches!" at my and my roommate's door. And she just walked away.
I've never, ever experienced such intolerance. There's literally no reason for it. I've even smiled at them or waved when I'd seen them before this started.
It's like high school- no, grade school.
It's really unbelievable.
I'm forcing myself to not say a word, because I'm not starting s**t and putting my financial aid in jeopardy.

well, i guess all you can do is act "maturely" which means you just shrug them off everytime they bother you or say bad words behind your back. I mean that's the best way of atleast dealing with it.

My roommate is pretty upset because we get along and she actually started crying. I almost did. But yeah. Everyone I know agrees that I shouldn't try to "make a stand." Sometimes you just need to pick your battles and I'd probably end up cutting a b***h. cool 4laugh Not really, but still. Actually, the girl is like seven feet tall and all meaty. She'd just pick me up and throw me. Even in platform heels I have to look up at her.

I don't know much about dorm life, but is there someone you can talk to in a dorm management position?
I say, you might be able to get another dorm room temporarily until they're kicked out. Then you get to move back cool
People like them don't deserve to have decent people make room for them. I wouldn't let them have their way.

It's sad to think those kind of people are still spawning and growing in the world. Good for you for not stooping to their level though. Doing something that would get you in trouble would only be letting them win. They would then get the satisfaction of seeing you punished over something they caused. You just hang in there and take pride in the fact you are far bigger than they are. Maybe not in physical size, but in maturity, and that's what counts.

You should speak to the dorm people about it, maybe those two will get shoved in another dorm and you won't have to move. Though I'm glad to hear that you aren't decking them, as much as they deserve it. People like that somehow spin a tale that makes it look like everything wasn't their fault.

That is horrible...and I thought I went to the most intolerant college ever at one point. I used to go to Miami University, in Ohio, which is the preppiest, snootiest, most stuck-up college you will ever find. Surprisingly though, (even thought I like to dress kind of emo or goth depending on my mood) nobody gave me a hard time. To my face, at least. My roommate was even a cheerleader, and one of the preppier girls there, but she was such a nice girl. She never gave me a hard time.
I just can't believe how disgusting and intolerant the girls at your dorm were being.

don't feel bad my first year (which was last year) I moved from the brand new extremely nice dorm building to the old run down building (it was my own choice b/c things weren't going that well) went through two room mates (here's hoping third times a charm) and had an on going war with the girls next door (we share a bathroom), as well with some other people (some I don't even know) and found out that an ex I thought I would never see again (and prayed I wouldn't) is in my honors class and then got stuck doing a project with him. So, yah when I say I know what your going through believe me I know and it will get better (at least I hope).

True, but there comes a point in time when you have to decide when you can't brush it off anymore, can't smile and say "my pride has stopped bleeding for now". I got away from my hellacious roommates, but there is nothing that would satisfy me more than revenge. Idle swearing to the heavens that those two-faced whores will pay isn't enough.
