HEROES:
The Untold Chapters

Okay, some here's the deal: every other RP I've started I've put WAY too much work into and it's turned out to be a flop because I myself have burned out on doing all the work it takes to keep it running. That and the fact that it's murder writing as much as I do in fully literate RPs.

Well, now that that's out of the way, this RP is based on HEROES, the super popular, super awesome TV series that airs 9/8 Central Monday's on NBC. (Never watched it? Shame on you) This story is going to be based around heroes of your own that you create, with their own back stories, problems, and powers unique to themselves. And if you want to be part of the RP and have never even seen the show, don't sweat it. Just PM me and I can fill you in on the whole shebang.

ABOUT THE RP:

- Third person (that means unless it's in dialogue, no "I"s, "me"s, or "our"s)
- Don't kill other people's characters without their consent
- Don't use other people's characters without their consent
- Parts should be kept at 1-2 paragraphs a person, perhaps 3-4 if you have good reason
- No chtsp33k. chtsp33kers w1l b sh0t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!
- No godmodding (that means you can't create a character with the ability to kill anybody they touch and pure invincibility with only one obscure weakness)
- Don't switch scenes unless the person before you came to an obvious conclusion
- No flamming
- No sex scenes
- Keep profanity reasonable

FURTHER DETAILS:

Since I was kind of vague in the first post about the formatting of the story, here's some examples of how to do... well, a few different things.

CHARACTERS

If you want to join, send me a PM with the words 'Heroes RP' somewhere in the title. To submit a character, please fill out the following information form:

Quote:
Name:
Age:
Physical Appearance:
Style of Dress:
City of Residence:
Family:
Powers:
Personality:
Background:

Name - Your character's name (duh). In most cases, this would be full name, meaning a character that goes by, say, Will Fritch, might be written out William (Will) David Fritch or something like that
Age - Character's age in years
Physical Appearance - Basically hair color, height, weight (doesn't have to be precise; can be a general term like 'skinny', 'chubby', 'frail', 'buff', etc.)
Style of Dress - What kind of clothing does your character usually wear? Studded stuff? Wrist bands? T-shirts? Button-down shirts? Sweatervests?
City of Residence: If you want to go in line with the story, your best choices would be LA, NYC, Las Vegas, or Odessa, Texas, but you can easily choose a new location and find a way to work it into the story
Family - Your character's siblings, parents, and/or extended family
Powers - Describe your characters powers and abilities (superpowers, not just 'OOOoooh, he's a super awesome guitar player). If your characters powers are meant to be kind of a mystery, be descriptive yet vague
Personality - Just what it says. Is he a jerk? Sweet? Protective? Is she a rotten b***h? Friendly? Bold and courageous?
Background - This part can either be very elaborate or pretty much empty, depending on how much you intend to divulge in the story itself

WRITING THE RP

As much as I KNOW you'll want to write your own character's part, you need to help people keep writing their section or else this will turn into one of those confused, estranged RPs. So here are some do's and don't's when it comes to writing this RP:

DO help others write their parts if they didn't end it at a cliff-hanger or end-scene.

DON'T be a jerk and jump away from somebody's idea to write your own. That's not the nice thing to do.

DO:

Character X
Steven ran to the edge of the roof, heart thundering in his chest as he prepared to jump. He hadn't tested his powers in over a week and he prayed that they still worked, because if they didn't, whether he jumped or he didn't, he was going to die.

Character Y
Feet pounding on the concrete roof of the apartment building, Justice knew the end of the hunt was drawing near. His prey had cornered himself on the edge of the building and there was no where to go but down. Justice was quite fond of that concept. A thin smile curling across his lips, he shouted,

"Give it up, freak! There's no where to run now!"

Character X
Steven spun around, eyes blazing with fear. He saw the gun in the hand of his executioner and knew it was now or never. With no other way out, Steven shut his eyes and prayed as he pitched backwards over the ledge.

***

[NOTE]: *** represents the end of a scene and gives other writers the permission to start a new scene

DON'T:

Character X
Steven ran to the edge of the roof, heart thundering in his chest as he prepared to jump. He hadn't tested his powers in over a week and he prayed that they still worked, because if they didn't, whether he jumped or he didn't, he was going to die.

Character Y
Justice was enjoying his time in the Bahamas. Cool, crisp ocean air playing against his skin as he lounged on the beach, the tide coming up over his toes as he lay there with nothing to do. This job was the easiest he'd ever taken.

Character X
((Dude, what the hell? My guys running for his life and you just stick your stupid f** in the Bahamas? What the hell?!? That doesn't even make sense!))

Character Y
((Hey, shut up, you cockbite. I can do whatever the hell I want!))

Character X
((What did you just call me??? Dude, I swear, if I ever meet you in real life, I'm gonna tear your face off, you p***y!))

Character Z
((Um, guys, can we get back to the story?))

Character X
((Hey, shut up, douche! You're not part of this!))

Character Y
((DON'T CALL HIM A DOUCHE, YOU p***k!!!))

... see how that can play out? Just show your other writers some love and go with their story, 'kay?

DO end your part of the story in a timely manner. Try to keep it around 6-8 posts if you can.

DON'T hog all the attention to your character. The world doesn't revolve around them, you know.

CHARACTERS:

Look here to get the low-down on your fellow heroes

Name: Sarah Bethany Cresting
Age: 25 years old
Physical Appearance: Short black hair; 5'11"; average body build
Style of Dress: Grays and blues; t-shirts, tennis shoes, jeans, watch, small earrings, little makeup
City of Residence: Pittsburgh, PA
Family: Brothers Tony and Damon, mother Cybil, and father Richard
Powers: Solar skin cells in hands capable of storing and discharging energy in concentrated blasts and bursts
Personality: Quiet and withdrawn; blends in with the crowd and is usually tentative to step forward in dangerous situations
Background: Growing up in a poor district in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Sarah Cresting had always been a cautious girl. The stories that her friends would tell her of the kinds of the things that went on in her neighborhood were enough to keep her home-schooled until high school, and at that point, it was too late for her to develop much of a social life. Soon after graduating, Sarah began college to work towards becoming a doctor, staying with her parents instead of in the dorms full of strangers she feared. Now, with only a year of schooling left, she has begun to prepare for her first actual emergence into the real world. Her preparations were going well to start with, but a startling development in her own physiology has lead Sarah to a devastating new stage in her life.

"Just calm down... just calm down... everything's going to be fine..."

Unfortunately for Sarah Bethany Cresting, the voices that surrounded her were wrong. Swimming in a sea of confusion and darkness, Sarah could just vaguely make out the flash of lights that darted past overhead. Her sense of touch, however, was much more active, as were her nerves, and with every additional IV that they stuck into her skin, another sharp jolt of pain jumped to her brain and she let out a weak whimper.

"We need to get her stabilized now," a harsh voice broke through the darkness. Sarah tried to cling to the voice, to use it as some kind of lifeline to escape the bottomless void she'd sunk into, but it was to no avail.

"Her heart rate keeps..."

"...can't slow it down!"

"She's losing consciousness! We need to..."

"... there's not much time..."

"... she's going to..."

Black out.
