FURTHER DETAILS:
Since I was kind of vague in the first post about the formatting of the story, here's some examples of how to do... well, a few different things.
CHARACTERSIf you want to join, send me a PM with the words 'Heroes RP' somewhere in the title. To submit a character, please fill out the following information form:
Quote:
Name:
Age:
Physical Appearance:
Style of Dress:
City of Residence:
Family:
Powers:
Personality:
Background: Name - Your character's name (duh). In most cases, this would be full name, meaning a character that goes by, say, Will Fritch, might be written out William (Will) David Fritch or something like that
Age - Character's age in years
Physical Appearance - Basically hair color, height, weight (doesn't have to be precise; can be a general term like 'skinny', 'chubby', 'frail', 'buff', etc.)
Style of Dress - What kind of clothing does your character usually wear? Studded stuff? Wrist bands? T-shirts? Button-down shirts? Sweatervests?
City of Residence: If you want to go in line with the story, your best choices would be LA, NYC, Las Vegas, or Odessa, Texas, but you can easily choose a new location and find a way to work it into the story
Family - Your character's siblings, parents, and/or extended family
Powers - Describe your characters powers and abilities (superpowers, not just 'OOOoooh, he's a super awesome guitar player). If your characters powers are meant to be kind of a mystery, be descriptive yet vague
Personality - Just what it says. Is he a jerk? Sweet? Protective? Is she a rotten b***h? Friendly? Bold and courageous?
Background - This part can either be very elaborate or pretty much empty, depending on how much you intend to divulge in the story itself
WRITING THE RPAs much as I KNOW you'll want to write your own character's part, you need to help people keep writing their section or else this will turn into one of those confused, estranged RPs. So here are some do's and don't's when it comes to writing this RP:
DO help others write their parts if they didn't end it at a cliff-hanger or end-scene.
DON'T be a jerk and jump away from somebody's idea to write your own. That's not the nice thing to do.
DO:
Character X
Steven ran to the edge of the roof, heart thundering in his chest as he prepared to jump. He hadn't tested his powers in over a week and he prayed that they still worked, because if they didn't, whether he jumped or he didn't, he was going to die.
Character Y
Feet pounding on the concrete roof of the apartment building, Justice knew the end of the hunt was drawing near. His prey had cornered himself on the edge of the building and there was no where to go but down. Justice was quite fond of that concept. A thin smile curling across his lips, he shouted,
"Give it up, freak! There's no where to run now!"
Character X
Steven spun around, eyes blazing with fear. He saw the gun in the hand of his executioner and knew it was now or never. With no other way out, Steven shut his eyes and prayed as he pitched backwards over the ledge.
***
[NOTE]: *** represents the end of a scene and gives other writers the permission to start a new scene
DON'T:
Character X
Steven ran to the edge of the roof, heart thundering in his chest as he prepared to jump. He hadn't tested his powers in over a week and he prayed that they still worked, because if they didn't, whether he jumped or he didn't, he was going to die.
Character Y
Justice was enjoying his time in the Bahamas. Cool, crisp ocean air playing against his skin as he lounged on the beach, the tide coming up over his toes as he lay there with nothing to do. This job was the easiest he'd ever taken.
Character X
((Dude, what the hell? My guys running for his life and you just stick your stupid f** in the Bahamas? What the hell?!? That doesn't even make sense!))
Character Y
((Hey, shut up, you cockbite. I can do whatever the hell I want!))
Character X
((What did you just call me??? Dude, I swear, if I ever meet you in real life, I'm gonna tear your face off, you p***y!))
Character Z
((Um, guys, can we get back to the story?))
Character X
((Hey, shut up, douche! You're not part of this!))
Character Y
((DON'T CALL HIM A DOUCHE, YOU p***k!!!))
... see how that can play out? Just show your other writers some love and go with their story, 'kay?
DO end your part of the story in a timely manner. Try to keep it around 6-8 posts if you can.
DON'T hog all the attention to your character. The world doesn't revolve around them, you know.
