  Good for you :)

I've seen two stories which have things concerning a hermit who was a childhood mentor of the Doctor. The Doctor talks about him to Jo in the story "The Time Monster", and he is talked about again to Sarah Jane and then seen as a supporting character (K'anpo Rinpoche/Cho Je) in "Planet of the Spiders", in which he helps the Doctor in his regeneration.

Does anyone like this character? Anyone know of other things concerning this character?

Uh...discuss!

I'm fairly sure I recall him turning up in one of the New Adventures as well, although darned if I can remember which one. Maybe someone else will be able to prompt my memory?

the monk confuses me, but I love the daisy story and Jo's awesome response.

I thought it was odd that he (and certain other Time Lords) don't need a TARDIS to travel. Like that guy in Terror of the Autons. What's up with that? The Doctor ought to learn how, since he keeps getting stranded places.

Tricky. I don't think he's shown up in the 'present' of any of the novels, but may well have been in a flashback or two (Transit?).

Lungbarrow mentions that the House had an 'ornamental hermit' while implying that unknown to them he may have been anything but simply ornamental.
