Well, since I saw that another author topic was created, I figured I'll make this one so I can gush about her.
Ms. Atwater-Rhodes published her first book when she was 14 (turned it in for an English assignment and the teacher sent it to a publishing company) and has 8 books out right now. I think she's around 23 currently.
They are:
In the Forests of the Night Demon in my View Shattered Mirror Midnight Predator Hawksong Snakecharm Falcondance Wolfcry
She largely uses the same cast of characters who all come from the same universe, but it's not absolutely necessary for you to have read the books in order or at all to understand the storylines. In the case of the last four though, it adds depth to the stories if you've read the preceding books.
The first four focus mostly on vampires with the third being told from a witch's point of view and the fourth from a vampire hunter's, and the other four being about shapeshifters.
Anyway, the book that I was really surprised/please with was Wolfcry. It focuses on Oriza and a young female wolf (introduced later in the book). What was so surprising is the romantic relationship that develops between Oliza and this wolf (sorry, but I just can't remember her name or even find it). It's actually very sweet and not at all graphic, but she'd never made reference to homosexuality before, so to have a lesbian relationship be the focus for at least part of the book was surprising. Especially when alternative sexualities are so rare in young adult literarture right now. There's been a lot of people that say it disgusts them though, which is a bit upsetting.
Anyway, if you'd like a few books that you can read quickly or like books that intertwine, definitely check these out!
