Since there are many many theories and discussions regarding the URTV floating around the board right now (and partly just because I like them ^.^) I figured I'd start a topic dedicated to them. Anything goes in here so long as it's safe under the TOS (*cough*I'm talking to you Emarillian*cough*) and it's got something to do with the URTV.

Spoilers are fair game here for either episode (so you don't have to mark them unless you feel like it).

I'd post something interesting right now but I have to go read a book about Hitler for history class (we're reading the abridged version and it's about 2" thick T.T) so have fun with the poll instead.

On another URTV related note. Doesn't Jr. just have the coolest jackets? *wants to make both jackets* Though I'm still wondering why his new one has the "R" monogramed on it. I think it's suposed to have something to do with "Red Dragon Mode" (I believe he mentions something about it and then points to the design on his jacket - well not really pointing but you know what I mean) with the wings and all, but why the hell would he have a jacket like that? Unless Yuriev had it made for him (which doesn't make sense since the URTV all had the same uniforms). Or the R could just stand for Rubedo (that is if I completely misinterpreted what that gesture I was reffering to above meant - he does it in the scene during the URTV flashback sequence in disk 1 where lil' Albedo is digging a grave) - which also doesn't make sense because why would Jr. have a jacket with a refference to his old name which he doesn't particularly like because it has "bad memories" attached to it? Oh well it's still an incredibly cool jacket.

U-DO ReTro Virus

There are 669 URTV, created by Dr. Dimitri Yuriev. Essentially the URTV are clones of the doctor (Juli Mizrahi was the egg donor for the project). Designed to combat U-DO. There are 4 special URTV, 666 Rubedo, 667 Albedo, 668 Cirtine, and 669 Nigredo. They have special abilities not common to the other 665 URTV. 666 Rubedo is the leader of the group and has a special ability called "Red Dragon Mode" (not sure exactly what it is though). 666 and 667 were conjoined at some point in development but were seperated before birth. Cannan comments that "imperfect seperation may occur" in refference to the two, hinting that it probably did occur, explaining Rubedo's comment "Albedo... a fragment of me... the beating in my chest" (I think that's the quote... I'm just typing this off the top of my head so it might not be right). There are 8 (or was it 9?) female URTV, Cirtine explains why but I didn't understand what she said well enough to try to explain it myself - something to do with mtDNA though.

Interestingly enough I Wiki-ed "retrovirus" today and found out some more information about what a retrovirus is:



Basically it rewrites a portion of a DNA sequence (if I understood that correctly - I need to ask my AP Bio teacher...) and if my understanding of U-DO is correct it was a type of program, so maybe the URTV were designed to rewrite a portion of U-DO's programing that went nutso. But I still don't understand U-DO well enough to have much confidence in that last statement.

Ok that's what I thought. But they kept making such a big deal about it (Citrine tells Nigredo about it like it's some big secret evil evil thing and Jr. totally freaks out during the ending when it starts to kick in until Sakura calms him down again) that I figured there had to be something more to it.

On a slightly related note, what's with that whole Gaignun turning into Yuriev thing? Now that was bizare and unexpected.

I really don't know Shojo, it could of been during that time when Yuriev and those peoples were gonna do something to Gaignun and thats when he pulls out his gun and goes... BANG!!! @_@;;; Since Gaignun is a URTV, maybe.... Yuriev programmed his...sunconsciousness into Gaignun?? @_@ I DONT KNOW!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This is Cannan. He's a specialized realian produced by Vector sometime before the Miltian Conflict. He pilots the ES Asher with chaos at one point.



Yeah I've been thinking that that scene had something to do with it. *runs off to attempt to transcribe the scene and throw it into her translator program* (side note: I dunno if you've seen this yet but http://www.kosmosheart.com/xse2 has all of the ep2 cutscenes up for download - the bandwith dies often though).

rubedo might be small in stature but he makes up for that by the size of his....heart. albedo likes rubedos heart. he likes it a lot. albedo and rubedo were joined in the chest. i think that implies stuff. stuff like being joined. being joined at places including the chest. like...your feet. yeah...feet....rubedo and albedo have very large feet. and you know what they say about the size of your feet...okay im done for now.
