Kaleb was rather lonely, Riley had been called in to work that morning, leaving him all alone in his partner's apartment to take care of himself. Thus far he hadn't been doing a very good job of it. He was hungry, but not hungry enough to chance get out of bed for the first time since his transformation, he was too tired to get any reading done, but not tired enough to need a nap, and even the thought of turning on a movie couldn't hold his interest.
Without any motivation to do much of anything, he just curled up on Riley's bed with his dragon plushie and his starry blue blanket wrapped around his shoulders and tried to figure out how to keep himself entertained all day.

As Kaleb struggled to figure out what to do with himself, the familiar inky blackness of the Organization's portals creeped into existance in Riley's livingroom. From the portal stepped a grinning Demyx, and soon after the sitarist had made his entrance the blackness disappeared back into nothingness. Apparently the watery one had earned himself some free time...or simply stepped away from his duties, who knew. He was intent on making a visit though, and that was more important than watching over his group back at the castle.
"Hey Kaleb? Ya here?"
Tails swishing, Demyx snuck through the apartment in search of his friend.

Kaleb's ears perked up once he heard footsteps, but his immediate fright was set at ease when he realized it was just his friend. He sat up and grinned, still clutching at his blanket.
"I'm here," he said, shifting to the edge of the bed so he could get up and meet Demyx. His muscles still hurt a bit when he used them, and it was worse for his wings and new tail. For the most part he just let them hang limp since he hadn't no reason to move them, but now that he thought about getting up, he would have to figure out what to do with them so his wings didn't drag.

Ears perking at his friend's voice, Demyx quickly made his way to the bedroom.
"Heeey Kaleb! How ya feeling?"
Head tilted curiously and grin present, the sitarist walked to the side of his friend to look him over.
"You're looking better....how do the new wings and tail feel?"

Kaleb grinned. "I-I'm okay, still a little tired though..." It was unusual for him to feel so tired all the time, but maybe that was to be expected with all the changes. The little mage knew too much about physiology to believe growing wings and a new tail was all that had happened to him, the transformation would have been a systemic thing.
But he didn't have to worry about admitting he was tired, Demyx had probably gone through the same thing.
"I-it's really odd," he said, tilting his head so he could look back over his shoulder to where his dark wings stuck out from underneith his blanket. "I haven't tried moving them yet, but they feel just like any other part of me."

"Well, yeah, they are a part of you now...odd as it might be to think of em like that, huh?"
Grinning the sitarist allowed his own wings to twitch slightly, but remain folded on his back.
"Yeah, you'll probably be kinda tired for a while. But hey, soon enough you'll feel like yourself again! And then you can figure out all the neat sutff you can do with the wings..."

Kaleb smiled, that would be a relief. He hadn't felt like himself at all since the incident. "I-I guess I should start by figuring out how to tuck them up," he said, thinking it was about time for him to actually get up and eat.
He stood up and pulled off his blanket with a blush, he still hadn't gotten a chance to get any of his shirts fixed so he was stuck wearing just his pajama bottoms until he could ask his partner to run an errand for him. The edges of his wings still rested on the bed, he wasn't entirely sure how to start when it came to moving them in a coordinated manner.

"Er...yes, you'll want to learn that."
Demyx flinched just a bit, remembing Nahira lecturing him over the wing situation. He didn't want to see his friend end up with bent up feathers too.
"It's kinda weird...all the muscles are there, you just have to get used them is all. Want me to help get them folded so you know what it feels like?..."

Kaleb nodded with another small blush. "Th-that would be really nice," he said, fidgeting a bit and making a small, uncoordinated attempt to move his wings on his own.
It was the first time he had really paid much attention to them, and he was surprised to really see how large they were. The feathers were downy soft to the touch, and not overly shiny, and the wings didn't quite look scraggly from all the feathers that had fallen out over the last day or so. He realized they threw his balance way off, getting something to eat would be harder than he thought.

Moving beside the other, Demyx looked over the spread wings before looking back to Kaleb.
"Okay...is it alright if I lift them, and move them into the position for resting on your back? It might hurt 'cause you probably haven't used the muscles a lot, but learning is better than dragging them around...trust me...I did the dragging thing for a long time."

Kaleb nodded. "I-I haven't, b-but I can try and hold them there." He fidgeted a bit more, still feeling awkward about not wearing his shirt, and his fleece blanket not being around his shoulders like it had been since Riley had cut off his ruined shirt.

Not minding Kaleb's shirtless form one bit, the sitarist moved to gently take hold of the wings.
"I'm -really- sorry if this hurts..."
Ears flat, Demyx slowly moved the wings, bending them carefully to get into position like his own were. He'd be sure to do it as gently as possible, and mind any signs of pain coming from the mage.

Kaleb was first amazed at how he could feel Demyx's hands on his wings like he would be able to feel the sensation anywhere else, but he would get used to that with time.
The movement of his sore muscles and unused joints made him bite his lip a bit, but the pain wasn't as bad as the agony of first growing the wings. Even trying to use his new muscles to hold his wings in place hurt less than that first pain. He held them for a couple short seconds before he had to let them relax.
"I-I'm sorry, I'm really not very good at this yet..." he said sheepishly.

Demyx moved back, letting the wings unfold back onto the bed a bit.
"Don't be sorry, you have to learn is all..."
The sitarist attempted to give his friend a reassuring smile.
"but for now, we gotta figure out a way to keep them there so you can actually move around..."

Kaleb smiled back. Demyx was right, he would learn to handle the wings, it would just take some time. He thought about their more immediate puzzle, and then picked up his blanket.
"If you can move my wings again, maybe I can keep them up if I throw my blanket around my shoulders." He thought that might work, since the blanket would act as a sort of sling to keep them from falling and dragging on the ground.
