I might be going out on a limb here, considering this is a prog metal guild, but is anyone a fan of goth rock? I've found myself listening to goth rock at an incresing rate and I have to say I really like it. Is anyone else a fan?
Recommended bands: The Cure, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Joy Division, Echo and the Bunnymen, Bauhaus, Siouxsie and the Banshees

Angel of Metal Eh, it's okay. I like Goth Metal like Evanescance. But I hate HIM. Since when are HIM and Evanescence goth metal? I'm pretty sure both of those bands are pop-rock or something close.

Evanescence is one of those bands who are callexd goth by the media. the only goth about it, is that they are wearing black clothes. i thought the early goth music was a kind of electronical rave music.

Electronic? No. It really started out as post-punk in the late 70s. Check out Joy Division, Siouxsie and the Banshees, or some of The Cure's early stuff (Boys Don't Cry is a good album).

It's a good song. I have to admit, I don't listen to The Cure as much as I ought to.

I would consider Evanescance goth Metal, I like them. At least Fallen, the new one sucks. HIM is goth rock, but they definitely suck. Come on, a "Heartagram", wannabe satanists.

nothing satanist on a pentagram.
i don't see why Evanescance would be goth or metal. i see them as a rock band with some black clothes.

Evanescence = hard rock
And the "Heartagram" is just HIM's little symbol for something about a balance between evil and love, or something like that.
I love Siouxsie and the Banshees. I've never really gotten into The Cure, though. Dunno why.
