The storm clouds had cleared for the time being, this time of year it was always hard to tell how quickly they would return. There was a distant rumbling of thunder, and a cool breeze floated through the trees. Hitsu seemed a bit nervous of this weather, and she'd asked Yasha on several occasions if there had ever been any natural disasters to plague the forest, but even when Yasha assured her that she had nothing to worry about she still seemed concerned for their safety. "I hope it doesn't rain again for a little while..." Hitsu murmured, stepping over what looked to be a deep muddy puddle. "At this rate I'll have to worry about my Gym flooding..."

~Nothing to worry about, the storm isn't heading toward us.~ Makura replied, sounding not the least bit concerned. She heard Hitsu sigh, and hoped that she realized that an Absol... Of any Pokemon, would be able to sense when dangerous conditions were at hand.

Yasha, on the other hand, was frustrated. This scent was familiar to her, and she found herself unable to place it through the mixed scents of the rain and moist vegetation and soil. Instead, she seemed to find it best to just yell at whatever she was catching wind of. ~Intruder! Show yourself! I know you're there, I can smell you!~

"Mooou, my shoes are all soggy and my socks are wet and I'm cold and-"

"Will you shut up and stop that whining?!" The shout vibrated through a few trees and caused various 'hoots' and flapping of startled wings. A small shape scuttled into some bushes in shock, obviously not willing to stick around and see who was angry.

Neko slumped down on a root that jutted from the earth, wet as it probably was, and pouted childishly. "Well you are the one who got us lost, I think that I'm entitled to whine a little."

Frowning deeply, the Umbreon bared a few teeth to the darkness ahead. "I know we're going the right way, so quit making such a fuss!"

"The right way? Kane we've been walking for hours and the Sun hasn't come up once!! I don't know where you think we are, but it's not the way back home!" Sighing to herself, Neko stared at her companion in contemplation. Come to think of it he had been wandering dreamily in one direction for the past three hours. Why was that?

'I was sure this was the right way, and even now thinking it might not be, why do I continue in this direction?' Shaking these thoughts from his mind, the black and golden Pokemon sniffed the air and moved a couple more steps. "Come on, we have to keep going. It's not safe to just sit here like this..." And with that he pushed on, forcing his trainer to her feet.

"Awwwwr, I don't even want to be here and I have to keep moving! If we don't make it back soon I'll make you pay so much!"

Apparently the first to pick up on the obvious sound of an Umbreon's dialect, Yasha's ears perked and she sped up. Not that she went very fast, mind, it was more like a rushed waddle than a run. Her belly was no less than twice its normal size, and apparently she wasn't quite as agile with the added weight.

"Yasha? Wait for us!" Hitsu called, giving up on stepping carefully and trying to manage somewhat of a jog to keep up. "Be careful!" She added soon after, as she watched Makura take off at a much faster pace ahead of the both of them.

It was certainly the Absol that reached the duo first. In the darkness, she almost seemed more of a ghostly apparition than something helpful or welcoming. Her general presence, while not intended to be threatening, might have been generally creepy. After all, weren't Absol supposed to be a bad omen? There she stood, a few paces ahead of them, those bright crimson eyes studying the both of them intensely. ~You are lost.~ She stated, quite needlessly. Her tone, as always, was calm.

With the appearance of such a creature of course it would be the trainer who was freaked out. She fell over backwards, and landed hard on the ground. Kane moved to stand a little in front of her, his shoulders hunched slightly. Not that he cared, though.

Hearing the Absol's statement, Neko smiles a little nervously in response. It wasn't as if she was afraid, being that Pokemon generally made her happy. Even if they often brought bad news or omens. The thing that made her edgy was that; One, it had come from seemingly nowhere and spoken to her, which is odd. And two...well there was just something about this Absol that seemed like, if you got too close, it might not be very pleased with you.

"Uuuh, yeah we are lost...kinda. Do you live here?" She asked, hoping to seem friendly. No need to make a bad impression after all.

The Umbreon was having very different thoughts to this, however. For one he'd sensed that something might pop out of some place, he just couldn't put his paw on that somehow. Still with this Pokemon appearing, he couldn't shake the thought that someone was still out there, waiting for him. Or was he waiting for them? All these questions were making him angry.

"I. Am. Not. Lost. Thank you!" He snarled, hoping that whatever this strange creature wanted, it would do it's stuff, say whatever it wanted to say, and leave him to figure out how to leave this place.

The Absol seemed to only listen for a few moments, giving no reply until the both of them had ceased in their speaking. ~You are lost...~ She repeated, her tone just barely forceful. It was not uncommon to deny the need of assistance, but the Umbreon seemed very headstrong about the situation. It was familiar to her, actually. ~We have come to aid you...~ The Absol looked on for a moment more, before one of her comrades stepped up beside her.

Another Pokemon. Though, this time, it was as though Kane were looking into a mirror. Well, perhaps one of those Circus mirrors that makes you look fat, but this one was visually identical to him in every possible way otherwise. Yasha paused alongside Makura, and simply stared. Brightly glowing eyes wide in her mixture of confusion and shock, nostrils twitching and flaring as she took in the scent of these newcomers. Or, the other Umbreon in particular. Forepaws fidgeted, as though she'd contemplated going closer but decided against it. Never did she take her eyes from him, but seemed to be having an inner battle on just what to do or say. She knew this scent, and for what had nearly been her entire life... She'd been searching for it. Now that it was standing right before her, she couldn't help but doubt if it were reality. Or, merely just another fruitless dream.

Hearing no snarls or threats, Hitsu had slowed in her approach a bit. No use in running and tripping over something. Despite her ability to avoid such things if she wished, she still managed to fall face first into the ground every now and again. Once she'd caught up, she came to a stop behind her two Pokemon. First, she observed Yasha and Kane, head tilting slightly. She'd only seen one Umbreon before now, and there was something about the other... Peering up to Neko, standing ahead of her that few feet, Hitsu offered a slight nod. Who knew if this would be seen in the darkness, but this gesture was soon followed with words. "I'd seen only one Eon in this region, aside from my own..." Yeah, Hitsuzen wasn't the best at starting up conversation.

Red eyes flashes dangerously as this Absol presumed to tell him whether he was lost or not. He wasn't! There was something that Kane had to do here, he knew that deep down, but this Umbreon was not going to say that to this lowlife. Snapping angrily there was a moment in which he wanted to just teach the Pokemon who was boss. Then she spoke again, something about being aided?

"Aid me?" That almost was the turning point in their two second relationship as Kane's very unpredictable temper flared. However it only lasted a short time, because then, the most wanted creature in his life seemed to step from the shadows.
He'd dreamed of her when he was but a tiny Eevee, she had haunted his most comforting thoughts for a long time. There was only one other Eon that he would ask for, should some all powerful being grant him a wish. A small long eared beauty who Kane had watched die, who had awed him with her strong soul even in the cold clutches of death.

Searching this others red eyes, he breathed in her scent unnoticed, making sure not to show any emotion at all. Not realizing that his fur was bristling from the electricity that seemed to pass between them, and his tail twitching behind.
Kane took in her shape, her paws, and the unmistakable pattern of an Umbreon. What were the odds? She could have become anything else, and he'd still know it was her. It was as though his whole life, it had pulled and tugged him to this point, and he had let it, wanting so badly to see that he wasn't just holding on to some fantasy and dream. His Sister...his twin....alive?

Neko watched this all, going from concerned amusement for his anger, to complete awe as an Umbreon who without a doubt looked just like her own, albeit a few pounds. Her attention shifted to the person who appeared. 'Must be the trainer' she thought. The first thing the blue eyed woman noticed though was that she didn't look like any human she'd met so far. Whether it was instinct or some slight difference, she didn't know. As this person spoke, Neko felt she should say something too.

"Urm, well...yes...I suppose so. I've only met Sumiyaka, a Jolteon, this is kind of a shock." She smiled nervously, hoping that her trouble with words didn't make her look stupid. This was some bizarre situation. "May I ask, how...?" Neko didn't know if that made any sense, but anything else just couldn't make it past her mouth at that moment.

Makura simply sat herself down on the large root she'd been perched upon, sensing the change in mood of those around. She knew little of Yasha's history, not that she cared much either way. There seemed to be a connection between these two, aside from the mere match in species. She looked on in silence.

Hackles prickled, then lowered again, the accompanying erratic glow of her markings suggesting her mixture of excitement and confusion. The silence seemed to last an eternity, but Yasha did not really mind. Her mind seemed to reel out of control, trying to fathom what was going on. She knew him, she'd searched for him, and here he was. She'd found him. Or, he'd found her. Finally, her brain seemed to click, and she made the first movement. The pregnant Umbreon suddenly bounded foreword, miraculously keeping her footing as she landed in front of her brother. Then, did something she'd not been able to do in years; She nuzzled against him. Though, it seemed to mean a lot more now than it ever could have when they were merely children. Like hugging a long missed friend.

Without any doubt, Hitsu soon knew what was going on. The shock of her expression may have made one wonder, but she soon smiled. In fact, she started to look slightly on the edge of emotional. Neko didn't get an answer to her question, but perhaps an answer to a question on the mind. "I... I think this is his sister. Her brother, she's been looking everywhere..."
PostPosted: Tue Sep 04, 2007 6:52 am

It wasn't easy to just accept this had happened, how seemingly simple it became and the way this had all played out. It'd been what? Years. And so now they find one another, not by tracking down or even hear-say. Just one meeting, plain and simple.

But it wasn't that simple, was it? Kane thought his mind would explode from all the emotions and information zapping through the brain. She was there, and he was here...Kane shook his head. 'Get a grip!'

Just then his sister jumped towards him and he braced himself, almost instinctively, for her anger. It didn't come, she nuzzled him instead and his shock was there for all to see. Where was the hate? His own anger that wasn't there because, he'd finally found her. So long had he been loathing the world that the moment happiness flew in, it wasn't even recognisable to him.

So, he did the only thing he could think of. And licked her muzzle.

"S-sister? Are you serious? Oh wow, this is huge." Neko smiled watching Kane and she just couldn't get over how happy he looked. "What are the odds of this happening? Gosh."

She slumped down on a long, her legs suddenly very wobbly.

The Umbreon's affection was returned, as Yasha gave Kane's muzzle a lick of her own. Dark tail swayed gently, easily resembling that of a joyful puppy. Words swam in her mind, all of the things she'd mulled over through the years, things she would say to him, things she would ask him... None of them seemed suitable now. At least, not at current. When she did speak, it was little more than a quiet whimper. ~I've missed you so...~

Putting a hand over her mouth, Hitsu gave a small sniffle. "It's so sweet, isn't it?" It took little to make her cry, be it happiness or sadness. Of course, this time it was the good sort of crying. However, she was quickly torn from watching the two Umbreon as Neko plopped down nearby. "Are you alright?" Likely, the girl was feeling the same, or so Hitsu could assume. Well, their Pokemon didn't seem to realize anything else around them existed, might as well start up conversation, right? "Have you been here in the forest long? It's an easy place to lose direction..."
PostPosted: Sun Mar 16, 2008 8:53 am

Kane's teeth grated together as he ground out a syllable or two before settling on a less loving statement. "Me too." Yes, he really couldn't get anything else past his muzzle right now. No matter how wonderful the feeling, he was still the b*****d who found words hard to come by. Instead to show he felt the same way, the male sat down and leaned into her, hoping to cuddle.

"I don't feel like this is real, but I know that it is." The twin with a Y chromosome looked at her as though she could just vanish into thin air, and he grinned. He really made a face that looked like Christmas had come. Except Kane hated the holidays.

Pushing some lose strand of hair from her face, Neko nodded at the new trainer in front of her. "Yes I'm fine, just a little wobbly. We've been walking for hours I think, he wouldn't give up!" Laughing, now she knew why. "We got into the forest portion of our trip about an hour ago I believe, and so...between you and me it seems we went in a very big circle."

Staring at a tree for a moment, Neko then looked back at Hitsu and smiled a little sheepishly. "Not to sound rude but the Absol said you'd come to aid us, I think...do you live nearby?"

His lack of words seemed not to torment Yasha, after all she felt about the same. It would probably remain this way for quite some time, while the shock still remained. He leaned against her, and she plopped back onto her rear and leaned against him as well. To those ignorant of the situation, they have have looked like the perfect couple, but that was not the case. She only nodded gently to his statement. His sister knew exactly how he felt.

"The trees are so close together, you really can't tell where you're going after awhile..." Hitsu said, chuckling lightly. If not for Yasha, she most likely would have gotten lost around here more often than not. After so long, though, she roughly knew her way around and didn't have nearly as much trouble.

"You could say that I live here, though probably not in the normal sense. No buildings are here in the forest, just the caves..." She nodded, "And yes, we can take you to the edge of the forest. Or, to the main cave to rest for awhile, if you would prefer."

His eyes closed, and calm now he let the moment just kind of wash over his body gently. The happiness, relief, sadness and confusion. Curiosity, even now that he had time to just let it all sink into his skin and soak in the whole event. How had she gotten here, of all places, with a human being who appeared unconcerned with the whole thing.

His own trainer, he knew, was dying to get him alone to talk. He could feel her stare, boring into his forehead. Breathing deep, and letting a very long and strong gust of air from his chest, Kane's muscles relaxed ever so slightly and he opened his eyes once more. "You smell strange." He hadn't meant to say it so bluntly, if at all. But now he thought on the matter, she did smell a little off to his senses.

Sitting back slightly, he took her in better as he hadn't had time in the excitement and disbelief. She appeared....just slightly out of normality to an Umbreon's body structure. Blinking rapidly, his loss of words came back and he looked straight into her eyes once more with a huge question mark within them.

Neko wasn't sure of the correct answer, so she shrugged stupidly. "I don't know, whichever you think is best. I don't want to intrude on your home, but at the same time I'm not sure we should part these two just yet. Something tells me they have a lot to talk about, haha."

Scratching her arm nervously, the young yet adult trainer smiled a little to ease herself. Well, it wasn't like she usually got like this but to be honest the whole situation wasn't usual. She'd found herself within someone elses home, and then the most strangest thing had happened with her Pokemon and now...well it was all a bit too much.

The Umbreon's mind had, lingered in memories of her search in the past. Close calls, but the inability to follow the clues left behind quickly enough to reach her brother before the Rockets had moved elsewhere. Or, at the least, the one who had been his trainer. For certainly, this girl could not have been the one keeping him from her all of this time.

They had been men, and even so, Yasha sensed no malice about the young woman that stood aside watching them in their awkward reunion. That awkwardness, however, even the Umbreon was sure would fade once they were used to the other's company once more. How long that would take? Well... That was not something that she could begin to determine.

For now, she was thankful that the last remaining of her family was again at her side. Alive, healthy and strong.

When he broke the silence, the female's ears dropped in confusion a moment. Smelled strange? What could he-? Then, when he leaned backward to look her over, Yasha seemed to catch the hint. Though, she didn't look much less put off by the statement.

~Yes, I...~ She murmured, trying to select the appropriate words to respond with. Well, simple was best. ~Am pregnant.~

"Not at all, we don't get visitors very often anymore." Hitsu offered gently, hoping to ease Neko's worries. "It's just a bit chilly out here. If we get to shelter, we can start a fire and figure things out from there."

With her trainer's words, the Absol stepped down from where she had been sitting and padded up alongside Hitsu. Apparently waiting for them to start moving again. Makura peered over toward the pair of Umbreon and tilted her head lightly. She'd never seen the Umbreon so flustered. The Absol supposed that it was to be expected, though.
PostPosted: Tue Mar 24, 2009 3:06 pm

It was like a huge bomb went off inside his brain, removing any thought process that may actually be helpful. He blinked. Stared. Worked his jaw until he managed to get movement in his paws which dug into the earth. "Preg-nant?" It was like a strangled gurgle.

Was he upset or shocked? It really wasn't clear to him, both maybe...Kane looked again, and again. Couldn't be true. He smelt it though, saw it with his own eyes. The Umbreon felt his neck constrict painfully, the vein there probably throbbing as his jaw once again bit down hard.

Who'd dare touch her? The only family he had left, and she'd been violated by some scumbag male!!

Kane growled so deep in his throat it hurt, scratched the inside. "Who the hell would you let anywhere near!? Did he force you? I'LL KILL HIM!!!"

Neko was feeling much better about things now they had a plan, and she nodded. "Alright if its fine with you I'd be ok coming then. I'm sure it'll be much easier, then you can show me the way out when things get better. Thank you!"

Getting up, she then realized they hadn't actually introduced themselves. "Oh by the way, I'm Neko." She held out her hand, grinning. Then she heard Kane yell out and glanced over. "Oh now whats up his nostrils!"

Her brother's response to her condition almost startled her, mosly due to the volume of his declaration. Ears lowered, pressed against her skull a moment until the shouting had passed. She tilted her head lightly in confusion, before stepping away from him in order to follow the Absol's gesture that she was ready to move. ~You needn't worry about him.~ Such a simple reply, and not at all an answer to any of his questions. ~I believe our trainers are going to take us to the caves, we should follow.~

At Yasha's approach, the Absol turned and walked into the darkness in the direction that the trio had come from before finding Saiya and her Pokemon. Makura led the way, as Yasha waddled at Hitsu's heels as quickly as she could manage.

"It's nice to meet you, and in such a big forest it's shocking that we found you. Yasha had been on edge for awhile now, but I thought it was just the hormones. I'm glad I didn't try to stop her from coming out here tonight." She smiled to the fellow trainer as she followed the Absol to their destination, "I am Hitsuzen." Strangely, she hadn't seemed bothered by Kane's outburst. Perhaps she was used to shouting?
