One of my favorite bands of all time and one of the best Hard Rock/Grunge bands to ever.
Fuel originally formed in 1989 in Kenton, Tennessee but later moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where they are still based to this day. In 1994 they began playing local area nightclubs and bars, gaining notoriety and working on their music. Two years later in 1996 they released their debut EP: Porcelain. The EP sold well locally and spawned the single "Shimmer". The success of the EP got them the attention of one of Sony's labels and they released their second EP: Hazelton the following year. In 1998, the band released their debut album: Sunburn which featured their original single: "Shimmer" as well as the other singles; "Jesus Or A Gun", "Bittersweet" and " Sunburn". The song "Sunburn" was featured in the movie Scream 3. In 2000, they released their platinum selling album; Something Like Human. The single "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" peaked at #30 on the charts. In 2003, the band released Natural Selection, this too was a very successful album and spawned the singles "Falls On Me", "Won't Back Down" and "Million Miles". The song "Won't Back Down" was featured in the movie Daredevil and the song "Quarter" was placed in the track list on several of EA Sports racing games. 2005 saw the release of their greatest hits album
In 2004, Drummer Kevin Miller was released from the band after arguments with the band. Former Godsmack drummer, Tommy Stewart is now working Fuel's new drummer. In February 2006, it was announced that vocalist Brett Scallions had left the band. Fuel began to hold auditions for a new vocalist and almost chose American Idol runner-up Chris Daughtry after he sang "Hemorrhage (In My Hands)" on the show. Though Chris was flattered by the offer to join, he refused. No word has been given on their new vocalist or when they expect to put out a new album.
[EDIT:] A new singer has been found, the new singer's name is Toryn Green

Also, they're not underground for the most part, they just remain fairly quiet. Perhaps after you hear a song or two from them you may recognize them

For your sanity and mine...
Hm... I guess they are a good band, but I don't really like the first song, but the second song is just AMAZING! ...Type out your damn words.

Fuel are Okay, if you're into that rock style. I guess they're good at what they do, regardless. I saw them live once, with my dad, and I have to admit they put on a good live show.

Kaytaystrophical I actually do like some of their music, and I first learned about them after Chris Daughtry was offered the job of being their lead singer. He didn't take (Obviously). The have announced they have a singer now, the new singer's name is Toyrn Green. They will be going on tour next month and in July they are set to release their new album: Angels And Devils
