I love horses and have been looking for careers that will allow me to work with horses or other animals. I have already been looking into beening a vet and a marine biologist. I was just wondering what other careers that you guys have been looking into.

I'm studying to be a Therapeutic Riding Instructor. If you like helping people, work well with people with disabilities, and like working around horses, then it's something to consider. There's also a branch of TH that deals with Youth at Risk.
There's also things that don't work directly with horses, but keep you in the horse world, like Equine Journalism, horse park management, managing an equine business (a tack store, a boarding facility, etc.), equine photography, equine nutritionist... that's all I can come up with at the moment. I'll post more if I think of them. smile

You could always just own a barn/riding stable and have an alternative job. That way, you get the good income AND the pleasure of horses, without getting sick of them.

Ahrihliir There's also farrier work, but it's a tough job. I'd love to be a farrier. That's what I'm actually hoping to do realistically.

What about being an Equine Vet? It pays well, and you get to be with horses! X3
Or you could open up a large stable and take in horses from the race track that are up for the taking. :3

I mean, of course theres always risk of getting injured but yea... I want to be a farrier to save up money for college.... Plus I heard they make good money.

I'm looking into breeding/training friesians to be semi champion dressage horses (owners can train them even more to make them better, people are lazy these days), I also want to be an instructor.
