Kinoc

A bustling port city, Kinoc is known around Oaxu for its trade and commerce. The city attracts mainly Lights for its diverse industry, upscale fashion, exquisite cuisine, and its generally peppy atmosphere. Parents often leave their children to play in numerous parks and safe areas, worry-free from the general lack of malicious Darks in the area. While the Darks remain more on the outskirts of town, few are known to hang around Kinoc's single pub—The Ebony Rose. Practically crime-free, this portside city is almost begging for a problem.

The female crow wandered slowly into the bustling city, often getting looks of horror in her general direction as Light mothers hurriedly rushed their small children or teenagers away. Even though it was getting dark, plenty of people were out and about. But, she seemed to pay it no mind, only looking for a tavern she had heard about that was here.. it was the nearest to her at the time, and she didn't feel like going all the way to Venna to get a drink.

The front and back of her loincloth flopped back and forth as she walked, and even more from the breeze, exposing the black thong she wore underneath. She sometimes pressed her hands down to stop it - but for the most part didn't seem to care. The various beeds on her body jangled about, and her long, pony-tailed white hair gently swirled around her body in the wind. She was the kind of crow a guy would be proud to take home to mama. Why? She was stunningly beautiful, her pale complexion went beautifully with her long, snow white hair. Her ebony horns and wings shone dully in any light they came to.. her body was trim and fit. But more important than her looks was the fact that she was a skilled fighter, and she had the ideal Crow Attitude that seemed to lack in females nowadays - that Crows are better than everyone else, and Lights are the scum of the earth, no matter what their age. And hey - if you kill them young.. it's much easier than when they get older!

Finally the mysterious, lanky figure reached The Ebony Rose.. a tavern that seemed fairly empty. It apparently didn't have any lights in at the time, just a few darks that had ventured out of Venna or were travelling like herself. She sat herself down at an empty table and ordered a drink, sipping away at it while her golden eyes examined the room.

User Image Letting out the standard call of a raven, Valentine shifted back to his Crow form, fingers gently touching the bought of the tree next to him. He lifted his gaze, staring intently forward towards the fairly bright lights of the port city of Kinoc.

"I see..." he murmured, voice smooth as he straightened his posture, "I see why so many are attracted to this city now." A low, satisfied growl came from the back of his throat as the brute ran his slender fingers through his hair, crimson eyes watching a group of teenage Lights milling around outside a nearby restaurant.

His loincloth hung over his legs, unmoving. His attention was fixed upon a single figure, moving leisurely into a nearby tavern. Smirking deviously, the Crow's eyes lit up as he noticed this- he shook his hair from his face, folding his arms over his chest.

"Leonardo," he called, looking to where he was sure his comrade was, "What do you say to a drink right about now?" His charcoal-hued wings flit slightly in anticipation, watching the groups of Oaxuians move about the semi-busy streets.

User Image "Well, I'm going on ahead. Catch up, will you?" Valentine muttered, shaking his head. His curiosity had been spiked, now, and he was intent on visiting the figure he had just spotted. Stepping easily onto the cobblestone path that wound into the city, the Crow flicked his wings, strutting past groups of whispering Lights.

Crimson eyes glared at the soliticating teens and adults, as a devious smirk crossed his face, loincloth wrapping and winding itself around his legs, showing off the mock bandages wrapped around his thighs, covering parts of the tribal tattoos runnning down his side.

With a light flourish of wings, the Crow pushed open the door to the tavern with ease, earning a quiet stare from most of the patrons as he stepped inside, a sophisticated air about him as he did so. Easily spotting his 'prey', Valentine crossed the room, ignoring the stares of those curious of the winged Crow.

Stopping his stride just behind the female Crow, his left wing twitched slightly in anticipation, before he leaned in, jaw inches from her ear.

"Mind if I join you?" he murmured quietly, lips pulling back into a charming smile, "Unless you're waiting for someone else, that is..."

Mirage's left ear twitched slightly as she felt Valentine's breath suddenly on her ear, and she nearly jumped a bit because she hadn't been expecting anyone to actually talk to her. But.. the smooth, charming tone instantly got her excited about who it would be. She was a flirt and she knew it - but it didn't bother her enough to do anything about it.

She slowly turned her head to the voice with a coy little smile, a long and pointed tooth hanging cutely over her bottom lip.
"Of course you can join me.. I wasn't waiting for anyone in particular at all."

Mirage gently patted the seat next to her in a motion for Valentine to sit down by her, "My names Mirage.. my parents and some of my friends call me MiMi for short though - I don't really like it as much.. But you can use either."

Valentine didn't seem to be an impatient person, but here he was racing off into a bar of all places. After realizing that he was gawping uncomprehendingly Leonardo shut his mouth and peered at a light from under his lashes. The creature looked slightly cornered before making a run for it and Leonardo let out a long sigh. He was tired now. Perhaps Valentine had told him to catch up, but... well, Leonardo had done a ripe amount of torturing for the day. He was tired, because, yes, even Crows got tired after a while. Leonardo snorted in disgust as he drew his wings in and headed in the opposite direction that Valentine had gone; he was heading for the seashore. He pushed roughly at as many lights as possible in the bustling crowd until he finally came to view the ocean. Leonardo scared a Sarus off a bench to sit down and stare at the mesmerizing waves. Even if he would never admit it, Leonardo actually had somewhat of a soft spot for nature, not including goads of course, but really... the ocean was so alluring at times! Made even more so by the fact that Leonardo couldn't swim in it. Something became all the more interesting whenever you couldn't have it. Leonardo closed his eyes and drew his wings in, the night air was brisk. He listened to the sound of the waves and drifted off into an almost innocent-looking sleep.

User Image "I see," the Crow replied, sliding easily into the seat next to her, "Valentine. It's a pleasure." A charismatic smirk played across his lips as he lifted his hand, ordering a drink off the bartender. His wings fluttered slightly, offering a slightly stand-offish side of him to the person taking the order.

"Would you like something?" Valentine crooned softly, gesturing to the waiter, "It's on me." If one thing was for sure, this Crow knew how to handle women. Scarlet eyes watched her for a moment, mulling over his first impression, as well as her physical appearance- she was definetly worth talking to, at the very least.

"So," he started, "I take it you yourself aren't from this area, either." He paused for a second, eyes locking innocently with hers. "At least, not from this city... I doubt a Crow like yourself would be found living inside a Light-infested town such as this one, afterall."

She giggled and lightly flushed across her cheeks. She wasn't the most serious of Crow-girls at times.. especially when she was having fun with an attractive guy who was actively paying attention to her - something she absolutely loved.

"No, no.. I really shouldn't drink so much! I've already had two chocotini's.. I love them because they're so sweet and chocolatey.." She lightly poked at the slender glass infront of her. "And I really love chocolate..!"

She made a cute little giggle again before answering his second question, "But nah.. I don't live near here. I live with my parents in a big house a ways away.. I really don't go there very often, and all they ever do is pester me about grandbabies.. But either way, it's really pretty and secluded, and it's just a small village of Crows.. so there's no other species to dirty it up." A cocky grin crossed her face. She was raised racist against other species, and showed it quite often. "So.. what about you, Valentine? Where do you live?"

User Image"I see, suit yourself." Valentine replied, a supercilious smirk to match her own putting itself onto his face, "I live just outside the village of Venna. Both of my parents are deceased, so I just live by myself." He waved his hand slightly, before snagging the glass of gin he had just ordered.

"Cheers." he muttered, lifting the glass. He smirked lightly, before sipping the clear liquid, swallowing a mouthful with a satisfied expression.

"Now... may I inquire as to what you're doing in a town like this, then, Mirage?" he questioned, setting down his glass and running his slender fingers through his hair, "After all, if you think the way you talk, you wouldn't want to come within a mile radius of a city filled with a bunch of sissy Lights."

"I needed a drink.. and this was the nearest place." She shrugged as if it were no big deal, "And I like the way everyone scurries when I walk past.. it's so cute how terrified they are!" She made a soft squeal and put her fists to her chin while wriggled her torso back and forth, her top clinging to her body with all it's might.. one had to wonder HOW that thing stayed on with how bouncy she could be.

"I don't know, though, anything else to do around here.." She now changed to a cute pout and leaned in closer to Valentine, "You live close by, if you're from Venna.. What's there to do around here? Any hot springs? Those are so niiiice.."

Just as quickly as she had leaned in, almost reaching Valentines face with her own, she jerked back into her seat and gulped down what remained in her glass.

User Image A low chuckle came from the back of Valentine's throat, a slightly flirtatious grin on his face. He downed another mouthful of liquor, leaning forward a couple inches over the table.

"Actually," he crooned, voice smooth and collected, "There's some springs not far from here." A toothy grin replaced his smirk. "Though I'm not sure there's really anything else to do in a place crawling with Lights- I don't doubt a lady like yourself would rather head out to the springs than wander around town amidst Lights, afterall."

Finishing off his gin, he placed the glass onto the worn table with a quiet thump. "What do you say, mm?"

Mirage smiled as she stood up, fixing her top and re-arranging her loincloth that had slipped slightly to the side. "I do agree, dear Valentine! This place just reeks of lights and other filthy races.. let's go see those hot springs, they sound just lovely!"

She stood infront of Valentine, anxiously bouncing in place while she waited for him to get up so they could leave. She was indeed very bored of this place.. he was the only exciting thing in the whole town that she knew of.

User Image Tossing a couple spare coins onto the table, rather than create a problem, Valentine stood gracefully, loincloth falling right into place as he did so. Fingers grazing the small of Mirage's back, he gently guided her towards the door, reaching up over her head to push it open in front of her.

"After you," he crooned softly, flicking his wings in agitation of the stares he was recieving, "Let's ditch this town and head to those springs, shall we?"

His other hand moved to his hair, slender fingers running though the ebony tresses with a sophisticated finess. His eyes roved over her back for a moment, before he lifted his gaze, suddenly realized how short she really was.

"Mirage, how tall are you?" he inquired, smiling lightly, "Just curious."

Tilting her head upwards, she smiled at Valentine.. he certainly was tall, and she really liked that. "I'm 5'3.. and it looks like you've got about a foot on me, hmm? So it's not that I'm short.. I think you're just tall." Lowering her head back to it's normal position, her golden eyes lazily scanned the city.

"So where exactly are we heading - and how are we going about getting there?" Her small hand with it's slender fingers and orangish-red painted nails gently made it's way to Valentine's, and she gently gripped it. "I obviously haven't the slightest idea where we're headed, or how far."

User Image Chuckling slightly, Valentine carefully gripped the fae's hand, minding that he be a bit gentle with the slightly intoxicated Crow. Stepping outside, he easily led her right behind him, shooting a venomous glare at a group of soliticating Lights not ten feet away. They scattered, almost willingly, allowing the brute to flex out his wings and lead the the femme on.

"It's not far into Asantaniel Forest," he started, slowing his walk so Mirage could easily keep up with his long strides, "I hope you don't mind, though- it's a bit uphill, but the one I generally retreat to is rather... secluded."

A broad, charismatic grin crossed his face, wings folding tightly against his back. "It's not too far, though," he added, "We can walk without much of a problem."
