Edible Lingerie!

Alright, so I got my lip pierced a bit over a month ago and as for now it is slightly infected. I am considering taking the ring off and dropping into a bowl of peroxide and squeezing the s**t out of the hole and then just putting it back inside, but I am scared it might close up. Any advice on what else I could do to clean it up and keep the infections away?

Depends on how fast it will close up. From minutes too days.

What you can do now is dab peroxide on it everyday for starters.

If I did that, the hole is likely to never heal. Alcohol and peroxide just cannot be used during the healing process, at least not for dabbing it directly into the hole. I know of sea salt soaks and H2Ocean being good though, also anti-bacterial soap and warm water, but I was just wondering what else would make the infection go away 'cause at this point I'm a little desperate, taking as it has been infected for about a week and I would hate for the hole to close up on me if I take it out for more than a minute 'cause this is my favorite piercing I have on me, as for now.

Put salt water on the wound. DO NOT TAKE OUT THE PIERCING. Also, rinse your mouth out with both saltwater and antibiotic mouthwash. But don't do straight mouthwash, because that's too strong. Especially with Listerine. Do half water, half mouthwash.

Also, make sure that the salt water is warm. If you get itching on your face, go to the doctor and they have some really good face ointment and pills that they can give you at the same time that will take the hives down.

I got hives really bad after my lip piercing. >_>;

Also, you cannot be eating hot foods. That's probably why it's so infected. Stay with cold foods. And don't eat anything with too much flavour. Or anything spicy.

And I hope you didn't kiss anyone either before it got infected...

Also, do not ******** touch it with your bare hands unless you're cleaning it.

When my eyebrow ring got infected, it was so gnarly. People thought that someone had punched me in the head.
I squeezed out all the puss and crap, and it was so repulsively disgusting I wanted to cry. Didn't hurt that much though.
I used Peroxide and Aloe (from an aloe plant, 'cause I'm L.A.M.E) at least three times a day.
Since I had RIPPED the piercing though (in a pitiful attempt to cuddle with my boyfriend one morning), there is a super nasty scar on top of my eyebrow.
I don't care though.
I like scars.
I have tons.
;B
I find them to be characteristic. But yeah.
Try aloe?
It's soothing. And gooshy, and sticky.
And it's always worked for me.
But like I said, I use aloe plants, cut open one of the leaves/branches/stem thingers, and I swab it with a Q-tip.

Thx for the advice guys. I've been cleaning it twice a day with some salty water and squeezing the gross stuff out, though I am still considering going to the piercing shop I got it at and at least ask 'em whether it is in fact infected or just plain irritated. I should be doing that sometime this weekend.
