It had been several weeks since the 'princess' had left the oasis with ehr body guard, and to her dismay, and slowly decreasing temper, sthey had yet to find hide or hair of her mother. They had asked many of the black lioness with purple eyes, they had even said her name to many, none knew her.
She had woken early this day and her mod was a foul one, she had stalked away from ehr body guard on the premise to get a drink only to stomp off int he completely wrong direction to the way the watering hole was. She was so annoyed, with herself mostly, though she would never admit that. She had thought she would elave the oasis and there would be her mother, waiting for her, with open 'arms', that her mother would tell her secrets that her father refused to indulge to her, that she would tell her why she left. He had always said it was because of her. He always told her her mother was a dirty beast, then the look would cross his eyes, he would snap and stalk away and not be seen for days.
Shaking her salmon frings from her dark eyes she sat with a flurry of dust from the ground, her head bowing slightly. She could never let Moses see her feeling weak, she would just have to sulk alone. Why had she been left alone to be raised by slaves? Why didn't her mother take her with her? Why did her father never speak of her except for words of blastfemy and why, did he say she was dead?
Licking her lips, she let out a soft, exsasperated sigh."Where are you mother?" She whispered to the ground, her ears flattening tightly against her head. Why was the goddamn world so big?

It was probably the first time the male was last to awake, as the sun slowly hit his eyelids, he had to let out a frustrated half snarl and open his bright scarlet orbs to the new day. However, as he rose to his paws, he noticed there was something different...something...missing. His eyes wandered over to his side, hoping to find Afritti, but when he saw an empty space his expression did not change, nor did his attitude. Instead, he shook his unkempt 'bed mane' before moving out of the den and looking over his surroundings. Having to wait and wonder where he was for a few moments before the scent of his 'Princess' caught his sensitive nostrils and he took off in the direction.
The sounds of the jungle toyed with his ears, the right one flicking as the odd fly flew past it, agitating and tickling it. He found it odd that the Jungle reminded him so much of the home he had left dieing in the back of his memory palace, hoping that he would never again have the flickering images of his ever dieing lands. The Mistweaver pride looking at him with their disapointed glances and fury driven claws, his mothers emotionless last glance towards him. All the while these thoughts flickered over his eyes he followed his protectee's scent before he finally came across the salmon tainted female, only to narrow his eye's slightly.
This female intriuged him to no end, her, once his owner, his master, now travelled along with him. And she was an adolescent, a female blossoming into sexual, mental and physical maturity...and it made him all the more curious. If he where any other male, he would have probably had her pinned down and submitted to his will in a matter of seconds. He, thankfully, however, had more self-controly...and he was still wondering over his developing emotions for her. Did he even have any?
His large head shook and he walked out of the bushes towards her, before lifting his eyebrows as he watched her.
"She's somewhere...patience is needed." He said, answering her words.

The violet eyes vixen lifted her head quickly, her eyes narrowing towards him as he spoke. "Do you have to insist upon spying on me, I just came out for some water." She lifted ehr head and snootily looked down her nose at him, her glare daring him to mention again what she had just said, dareing him to say she was upset. She pursed her lips, her salmon finge falling in to her eyes as she did so. "I don't care how long it takes. I just want to find her." she gave a horty little grump then and got to her foot paws, staling past the big pale, dark maned male.
her heart jumped in to her throat at this lie, she did care, she wanted to ask ehr the questions that were upon ehr lips before she became too old to care. What if she was dead though? She paused midstep then, and took a slow, gulping breath. "D..d..do you think that she is dead Moses?" A stutter, she had never stuttered around the big crimson eyed male. She threw a glance at him and gave a quick clear of her throat. "of course she wopn't be, she is not a fool akin to my father, though I have to wonder why I exsist..." Her brow creased slightly thena nd she turned ehr head swiftly so he could not see the worry that was on her face, that shone brightly in those violet eyes.
She continued to stalk off then, towards the acctual watering hole, afraid perhaps that Moses might affirm her fears, that perhaps her mother was dead. Shaking her head, her tail lashed angrily as she padded through the trees.

Moses arched a brow at this new development, taking no notice of her harsher words, bright, seemingly empty eye's watching her every step as he stood there. Gaunt and noble in the early morning mists of the jungle as he watched her, only to c**k his head at her words. A stutter...from one who was once so strong in his eyes, once his princess and in the back of his mind he supposed she still was. But still...this was certainly new.
He was about the answer her, but, as she walked off, he had to narrow his eye's slightly before following after her. A slight trot to his steps before he came up on her side, looking over her before he looked forward.
"Do you want to know what I honestly think the chances of finding your mother are, Afritti?" He asked, however before she was allowed to say anything. He answered.
"I think that if she is anything like you...we will find her in no time...alive or dead I know not, but don't dwell on such dark thoughts before we have proof that she's even dead...for all we know she may be well and alive."
His words where as they always where, cold, callous and aloof as possible.

The cocky afritti, pricess, still at least partially in her mind looked long and hard at her bodyguard as he spoke of her mother, she pursed her lips, drawing air between her lips as she contemplated what to say to her bodyguard. She decided to be sarcastic, something not uncommon for the Ex-princess of the oasis. "You have to say that though don't you?" A little smirk lifted her lips then, no, he didn't have to say that, he didn't even have to protect her out here, Moses could do as he liked even though she still somewhat thought of him as her slave, her protector, he really wasn't not any more.
"It's good that you think that though.." she paused and once again stared up at her guardien angel with the red eyes, she pondered if her father was still alive what he would think of this little partnership they seemed to share somewhat reluctantly, yet completely voluntarily. She relied on him and she hoped in a way that he relied on her too.He wasn't alive though, things had gone awry and the little tyrant king had died and so had his vision, what ever it was in his mind.
"I'm sure we'll find her, if you'd open your eyes more and stop sleeping so much." he smirked then, she knew full well that Moses knew exactly what she wanted to say, didn't he? Of course he did, they had a language all of their own really, he knew full well she couldn't just say thankyou. That was just rediculous. "which way are we supposed to go today?" she flicked her salmon fringe from her eyes padding onwards towards the watering hole.

The pale furred adult stared at her, a hard, long stare as he stood there, letting her get a few paces forward before he followed after her. The heat of the jungle making his mane seem even heavier and it took just a little more of his strength to lull it around. He then moved to her side once more and looked forward.
"I believe we should go deeper into the jungle till we reach the other side..." He said more softly than he normally would. "We should reach the borders of a neighbouring pride by that time."
He didn't look at her any time while talking, thinking it much more interesting if she thought he was ignoring her intentionally. He protected her, took care of her...but he liked to taunt and tease her in the smallest and most subtle of ways. After all...he did hate her...didn't he?

"Well..." She paused for a moment and stared at her body guard, he had grown so much over time, he was tough, roguish looking, his flouncy mane making her smile inwardly. She still owned a peice of him didn't she? Or did he stay for some other reason. Comtinuing her speach she replied in a curt sarcastic manner, "I thought that was where we were heading any way, really I don't expect she stayed in this damned, hot jungle.." she paused again flicking her salmon fronge from her violet eyes, she couldn't help but notice his tone was somewhat less angry than usual though so she paused and nudged his shoulder almost a thankyou, perhaps, or maybe it was just a hit for telling her what to do. Stupid thing was,s eh didn't know herself which one it was so she simply flopunced onwards.
Reaching the pool of cool clear water she dipped her head and rank thirstily trying to regain her posture, her feeling of superiority over the dark maned male. It was hard when she knew he was watching her, careing for her, he didn't have to any more. She was never really sure if this irritated her or not. Why did he continue to follow her like a little lost puppy if he didn't have to?
Lifting her head she fixed him with a glare, which faded all too quickly in to a secret smile. Why did he continue to take care of her, after all this time? It was a question she refused to voice outloud. Clearing her throat and returning her maw to it's usual staunch expression she spoke through pursed lips. Llead the way then fluffy" she grinned, almost, playfully, as she said it, what was getting in to her? He was a slave, her body guard, she wasn't supposed to, flirt? Good god she was flirting! She refused to be like one of her fathers Hussys though, REFUSED! Turning away quickly she hid the horror on her face and waited paitently. "She'll be dead by the time you get your tail moving Moses...comeon.." She sighed, she couldn't let herself become what even her mother must have been, a vessel through which to bare a males children, she wouldn't be that person.

The large male watched his protectee, emotionless bright red eyes staring at her as he sat by her side, allowing her to drink as he watched out briefly for any danger. Why did he protect someone he knew he had a long winded distaste for? Ever since they were cubs he'd disliked her arogance and yet it was suprising to find he still stuck so close to her through all of this.
As he looked around at the jungle he stretched his limbs, popping his shoulders and back and giving a pleased grumble in the process. It was true he had grown steadily from the young cub she knew and bossed around, he was an adult and considerably much stronger than her. Yet he acted like some slave hat protected her without question.
"Very well." He answered to her words, rolling his eyes behind her back before she moved to her side, glancing at her from over his thick mane and shoulder. Always speaking as if she still had authority...silly girl. And yet it amused him to no end to see her acting like she was still a princess.

Slinking after the white and dark maned male she caught up to him quickly. She was never truly happy to simply follow the larger male, she liked to lead the way, after all thats what royalty did, they lead the way. A little part of her knew full well that she wasn't even remotely a princess any more, her fathers tyrany had died with him, her fathers pride destroyed with a breath of wind as he had gone so had the power it seemed to hold over the rest of the pride. She was far from a princess any more. Still, her time within the pridal system had left her feeling empowered, strong, in charge, even if that was not the case any more.
So with the action of walking shoulder to shoulder with her former slave she felt like she lead the way. Her shoulder pressed closer and closer to the large male as they slipped through the trees, she knew she could not be separated from Moses, without him she would surely die, she didn't even know how to hunt for herself, sure she had done as all cubs did when they were young and chased after smaller creatures and killed, or played with them for sport. To kill for a feed though, this almost frightened her, what would happen if Moses left her?
A ball formed in her throat as she spoke once again. "Moses, you will teach me how to hunt wont you?" She kept her eyes firmly on the road ahead, watching the root littered path being careful to keep her graceful lope and not fall over any protruding root. The last thing she wanted, or felt needed, was Moses laughing at her. She refused to be clumsy around him. She had to retain her dominance, her feeling of self, without it surely she would fall apart, though if Moses left, wouldn't she also loose everything? She wrestled with her inner self, she wanted to ask Moses never to leave her, but what would he expect from her in return for such a request?

Moses allowed her to take the lead, bowing his head slightly as he watched her. He never did like to make contact that much when he was thinking and simply walked along with the dark form of his princess...his princess, the words amused him and he smirked to himself. A brief show of emotion that quickly vanished as he felt his shoulder rub against hers.
The sounds of the jungle echoed slightly, his bright red eyes wandering over the bright green canvas of trees, bushes and strange animals he'd never seen before. And ones she'd probably never seen either.
As his protectee spoke of hunting, he lifted his brows at her, cocking his head to the side as he walked beside her. He then took a brief moment to nod to her.
"I don't know why I should, you've lived the sheltered life of a princess, not learning to hunt, nor protect yourself...there are many stories of animals like you dieing because of their lives..." He said, all words sincere and each one cruel. Yet he looked at her and cocked his head to the side. "But it will be interesting to see you hunting...and maybe I'll be able to rest."

"Don't taunt me Moses I don't appreciate it!" She snapped, her tail lashing about angrily. "At least I am willing to learn I can't rely on you forever now..can I?" Those words, those two simple words were voiced in a manner very unlike the snooty princess. Was she asking could she rely on him? The fur on the back of her neck lifted as she took a jaunty step forwards. "Well really you don't expect the two of us to survive out here if I can't at least hunt a little, what would happen if you broke a leg? I'd go hungry then wouldn't I?" She raised a brow trying to cover her tracks by sounding self centered as usual, though her words constantly contained the words 'us' and 'we' she quietly hoped he would agree.
Even after learning to hunt though, could she survive alone? Without Moses? Her heart skipped a beat but she ignored it and turned her gaze back to the road ahead.
"We should start immediately, as soon as we are out of this clammy jungle. The lionesses always said they hunted on the plains, I'm sure I'll be a professional in no time at all. Afterall royal blood naturally makes me far more superior." She chuckled, her head lifting high, she had to keep up this facade to stop from crying. Without Moses, she would certainly fade away but she could NEVER tell him that. Not ever..

The male did nothing for the first few moments after she spoke, before he quickly stepped infront of her, his form looming slightly over her as he gave of a slightly dangerous feel. Like what she'd said insulted him and for once he actually decided to show it, she then took a dangerous step closer to her, till his face was but an inch away from hers.
"Get this straight, Princess." He growled slightly. "Even if I was starving, on the verge of death with wounds as deep as a rhino's horn is long, I would still keep on hunting if it meant keeping you content, full and quiet."
Moses had never shown this much emotion before, never, even when she'd insulted him, called him useless, dirt, an idiot, he'd never so much as bat an eyelid...but she says one thing and he becomes a beast that would've never been seen underneathe such a cool exterior till now. He then took a long, deep breath before moving to turn and walk away from her.
"Come on...let's go start your training..." He said bluntly, the cold, emotionless voice returning, despite the fact he still had a look of anger strewn across his face. Why had he become so enraged at her words? Had she insulted his resistance to pain?...or was it to do with her going hungry?

Afritti was abashed to say the least. She didn't expect Moses to get angry. She was so surprised she stood stock still while he walked away from her, though a smile rose on her maw and she followed after him. Had he just said he wouldn't leave her even if he was dying? He definately had. She licked her lips and raced after him stepping in front of him and running her whole body past his furry chest before taking his place at his side again.
She was quite impressed by the power he had just shown her, almost frightened that he could take her out with a deft swipe of those deadly claws, yet instead, he took care of her, pandered to her every need. It was a strange and wonderful feeling. "What ever you say Moses, As long as YOU'RE teaching me." She put emphesis upon the fact that she wished him to teach her. She may not be able to say what she meant in a straight forward way, but she could lay hints for him.
"Being all bloody just wouldn't suit you any way Moses." She snipped. "You're supposed to be a mighty oasis body guard don't you know?" she laughed her nose tilting to the air. She was ready to learn but she couldn't help but give Moses small hints of thanks and praise for his power, even though they were worded for his previous station.

Moses cocked a brow as her body rubbed against his furry chest and mane, cocking his large head to one side until he straightened himself up and continued walking while still talking to the smaller female. He held himself with a small ammount of pride, enough to keep his coat immaculate and his mane as fluffed up and proud looking as any good looking male. And as he walked he could help but shook an almost....it was hard to describe, as if he was enjoying himself and he gently pressed his shoulder against hers as they walked side by side.
"Another reason I'd make sure to keep you full even in a state of near death...as blood does not become me, seeing you as nothing but skin and bones would be an insult to the eyes." He said, as always, he had nothing but a sincere tone to his voice, despite the emotionless look. "Besides, the weakness you would be in your starvation would not reflect the fiercely proud royal blood in your veins as well as the strength you hold now."
...What was UP with him? She'd have no time to ask as they finally found the edge of the jungle, golden grasses stretching out as far as the eye could see and four legged prey creatures gnawing on them so lackadaisily. Moses lowered himself to the ground and looked to Affriti.
"Shhh...we have to be quiet now princess..." He whispered.

Before the salmon tinted female could reply she was down on her belly looking at Moses in a bemused fashion. Had he just said what she thought he'd said? She was still a princess to him? she was still his charge? Shje didn't know whether she was pleased byu this or not. Truthfully she wished moses to come with her willingly, not because her father had told him to. She fidgeted slightly but had to run all of those thoughts from her mind so she could concentrate though his words still niggled at the back of her mind.
Stilling her tail and frame she watched the large dark maned male carefully, though she couldn't help but admire him, sleek, handsome, buff, she was everything a princess could want in a..in a..uhm..well Moses was her body guard, he was everything she wanted in a body guard..That was her excuse she was sticking to it. Wait she didn't need an excuse, he was a body guard, her body guard damnit and nothing else, no matter how handsome, and roguish and..good god she was fawning over him!!
She resisted yelling out her words by glareing out over the golden lands, if she concentrated on this Moses would just be her body guard and personal..thingie..again, then everything would be back to normal.
Why did he have to stand up to her any way? He had no right to shout at her! She should be mad. It was hard to be mad at someone who you maybe L worded. She wasn't about to say nor think that word at all! He was her body guard they were learning to hunt and that was final.
She waited now, a silent body next to moses, her mind a blur with questions that didn't have answers, while trying to get herself to concentrate on the task at hand. Catch some lunch.
