Valentia Belli wiped beads of sweat that were clinging to her brow. At first, her potion was the same acid green of her eyes. However, it was now a flamboyant orange. Smirking a bit, she glanced over to her cat who was sniffing the cauldron suspiciously. "What do you think, Prospero?"
The midnight black cat placed his white paws on the cauldrons, retracting them quickly. He was rather intelligent and he had been trained to distinguish what scents associated to which potions. After a few more inhalations, he sauntered to the professor and nuzzled his cheek against her dragon-hide boots. "Mer."
Whipping out her cherry wood wand, Valentia glanced over to a goblet. "Accio." She said simply and the goblet zipped into her other hand. Silently casting a spell on the goblet, it plunged itself into the cauldron, scooped up enough of the potions to fill it to the brim, and then floated beside Professor Belli as if waiting for her next command. The potions master was wondering whether or not Remus Lupin was going to visit her or whether she would need to find him.

Gretel hovered outside the door to the potions classroom, wondering whether the professor would be annoyed if she entered. Prof. Belli could be...intimidating. She took a deep breath and told herself a teacher wouldn't get mad at a Prefect, and stepped inside.
"Uhm...Professor Belli? I...I have your Advanced Potions class. I don't want to interrupt your potion-making, but...if you could give me some idea of what we'll be studying this year so I can find appropriate things to study, I would be...v-very grateful." She winced at her stutter on the last sentence.

Professor Belli gazed over to Gretel. Trust a Prefect to attempt getting ahead of the class. "Miss McRae, I trust that one in your status will do alright with any additional information before anyone else." Her 'status' seemed to be the best way to put it. Typically, people in Ravenclaw yearned for intelligence or at least had a base of it in their brains. In addition to which, Gretel was a prefect know-it-all as Valentia had learned over the years.
Prospero, the faithful cat seemed to hide behind the professor as she casually sauntered up to Gretel. The blonde professor smirked at the Ravenclaw girl. "The syllabus will be handed out at the beginning of class. It would be unfair to your peers to tell you things ahead of time. If you will be so kind as to excuse me, I must see Headmaster Lupin." Without another word, she hastily headed to see Remus, the goblet floating beside her and her faithful cat followed.

Gretel drew in a sharp breath as the professor walked past her and closed her eyes, covering her face with her hands as soon as she was gone. She slid down the wall to a crouch, shaking her head slowly. She hadn't wanted to get ahead of the class....she only wanted to make sure she did well. Professor Belli was...so scary.......she took a deep breath and straightened up, resolving to sit near the back and do her work quietly and without comment from now on. She got out of the classroom as fast as she could and headed for the Transfiguration room. Professor Weasely was SO much friendlier and Gretel knew she wouldn't meet with anything like the same kind of reception...

(OOC: Awww... Poor Gretel! *Hugs her*)
White paws dashed along the floor and leaped onto a large mahogany desk. Prospero sat atop the desk and awaited his master's return. The cat licked his white paws and began cleaning off his black face. The cat had a rather interesting relationship with Valentia in the sense that he believed that they mutually owned each other; such a concept was not common among masters and their pets.
Belli returned to her dungeon. Yes, her dungeon, her lair. It could be rather nasty smelling and dank but that was alright. It was necessary in case someone horribly destroyed a potion mixture and it dumped out. Naturally, the chances of this were fairly low enough to cause massive panic. However, one must always take precautions when working with the magic arts. The professor sat at her desk, not even realizing that her words wounded the Ravenclaw girl. Glancing down at her nails, she painted them silver as she awaited her first class to begin.

The professor was blowing on her newly-varnished silver nails. She enjoyed the way they gleamed with a metallic sense to it as if her nails were of actual, rich silver. "I'm in here." She smiled at seeing Slytherin students come in early to class. Why was it that so many Slytherins seemed to be able to do so well in potions. "What is it that you require?" Valentia inquired, smirking a bit as she observed her son saunter in. "I'm afraid, Ms. Malfoy, that if you desire to get ahead of the class, there's no point. You mange to do well in my class anyway. Same to you, Mr. Belli. In fact, it is applicable to all of you."
Victor didn't even blink at being called 'Mr. Belli.' Unfortunately, he couldn't call her 'mom' in class. By teaching regulations, she had to treat him as any other student. Otherwise, he would use her class as a means to get his homework done before class while still getting an easy Exceeding Expectations in the class. Yet, he always worked twice as hard in order to impress his mother.

"I wouldn't think of trying to get ahead in class. That would be unfair to all the other students!" A'Marie smiled at her favorite proffesor. "Instead I have a gift from my father. He says it is very important and not to be opened untill you are alone." She handed her the wrapped octogon box. Souxe was hiding behind the rest of the group.

Steve followed the others into the dungeon. She inhaled deeply. She loved this room more than even her hiding place in the wall. It was always just perfectly dark, just perfectly cool and many an adventure in smell identification awaited her always. She always felt that she was one step below the potions genius that she wished she was, buy she was good enough that other students eyed her as angrily as they dared when her potions turned the most proper of colors. She found her usual spot in class and sat down. It felt just as she remebered, perfect.

The professor couldn't help but smile at the two girls plus her son. "Thank you all for coming here. I really appreciate it your gregariousness." And honestly, the potions professor was now rather excited to teach their year. Slytherin students almost always seemed to enjoy her class. Well, she honestly favored students in Slytherin for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, potions class was often like cooking. Slytherin students had many friends and so many of them knew how to cook or at least bake.
Her eyes fell on Souxe as she accepted the gift. "Thank you all once again. I suppose I'll unwrap this later." Taking the octagon box, she sauntered to her desk and safely stored it away. A gift from Draco? This could prove rather interesting.

Souxe felt uneasy with the professors eyes on him. He shifted uncomforably.
A'Marie nodded and smiled. "We better be getting ready for our first class, see you around Professor!" A'Marie grabbed Souxe and left the dungeon motioning for the other to follow.

Victor waved godbye to his mother as if he were a regular student. That was the policy of students who had parent teachers. He followed Steve and A'Marie as they left the dungeons. He thought Souxe was rather odd. "A'Marie, do you own Souxe?" It certainly seemed to be that way.
Once everyone was gone and out of sight. Professor Belli quickly opened her drawer and examined the gift and began unwrapping the octagon-shaped box. What on earth was octagon shaped? It certainly wasn't any balls for a Quidditch field. She thought it was a bit odd that he didn't have a letter or a card attached to it. Perhaps it was a simple gift that would have some sort of inside joke. Her blonde hair shifted from over her shoulder onto her back.
