If you love dragons, magic, and a world of unsurpased fantasy... then the Inheritance Trilogy by Christopher Paolini is right for you. The trilogy contists of Eragon, Eldest and a 3rd book which has yet to be revlealed from my knowlegde.
The books are about a young man named Eragon who finds a dragon egg. At first he is just a normal farmer's son but he's thrust into a world of adventure and fantasy. Now I know there are many stories like that, but some of them make the hero seem all warrior like and tough right from the start. This one, he's scared as hell and confused.... gradually he becomes the hero he was destined to become.
There are many elements that have been used before in many, many, MANY stories but its very well written book.

It was a little ridiculous, though, when he gets to the part where that guy says "Barges? We don't need no stinking barges." I totally wanted to throw the book across the room--something I couldn't do because I was able--just barely mind you, to control myself since I was sitting in the middle of Foley's (now Macy's, right?) when I read that line. I know C. Paolini included a lot of allusions and ya know, near-plagarism type stuff, but come on! It's almost like he was writing that particular section of the story just so he could use that line. Aaargh! I was so upset/annoyed/angry/infuriated/rage of Hell broiling type of miffed kind of. But, yeah, other than that it's a pretty good story.
